Your video is still saving people 13 years later. After hours of cleaning up a flood and working on the bottom drain to remove a sock from it, we still had water gushing from the soap dispenser. The 11 o'clock descriptor was perfect and helped me locate the drain quickly. Funny you mentioned what the possible culprits could be, "wife's undergarments" is exactly what we found stuck up there. Thank you so much for the time you took to make and upload this video!
Hank Hill would be proud of you! Perfect sensible directions. My wife and I had half torn our washer apart and still had the problem, found your video and my daughters sock within minutes. Thank you for taking the time to post this video, this is the benefit of living in a civilized society, we can help each other.
Once again, you have the solution. This is the second time you have saved us from an expensive repair bill! Whirlpool, it you're listening, you should put this guy on the payroll. He's brilliant!
This was EXACTLY the issue. It took some serious pulling to look between the bellow and the metal ring area, but we finally found a floral print shoved way up into the pipe. Thank you for saving our Sunday night! It may have been much worse or much more expensive with tears involved if we hadn’t found your video.
thank you so much this is the second time you have helped my wife and I out. first time was the drain, this time was her underwear blocking the drain, your videos have saved us hundreds of dollars thank you so very much. -Eric
Thank you!!! This totally solved the problem, along with thoroughly cleaning the soap dispenser tray. Can’t express my gratitude enough for posting this simple solution. Awesome!!!
THANK YOU!! No tools were required for my fix. There was a bib in caught just where you said it would be. Took 3 minutes, with a toddler next to me. You are awesome!
This problem had been driving me absolutely nuts. When I first saw your video, I was like "nah, it couldn't possibly be that simple." But sure enough, there was a chewed up old rag in exactly the 10 o'clock position, exactly as you showed. Thanks a million!
This video was an answer to prayers and stress.... This morning my wife put a load in and turned on as usual and went up stairs.... I was sleeping in our basement(undeveloped thankfully for this). I woke up to dripping water from main for to basement..... I ran upstairs and the water was FLOWING...... before I call the PROS I always GOOGLE..... funny thing your video was the only one that came up on page and rest was blank. Thank you so much. you saved us spending money in a simple fix.
O my GOD! MASSIVE THanks for this video. In crisis times like these I was afraid that I should buy another washing machine. Massive thanks, love from Belgium ❤❤
THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!! I had this problem and searched the internet to find a possible solution. My washer usually throws a code and I can easily fix the problem, but when looking for this issue I found nothing, until your waterfall post! It took me a total of 5 minutes to fix the problem and now I am back to washing!
You are the best bro. Thank you so much for putting up this video. Went right down stairs and fix the same problem in one minute.came up with a huge smile and one of my daughters socks grasped in my needle nose pliers.
Thank you so much! Saved me from buying another washing machine! My boyfriend gave up on trouble shooting the problem but I was determined to see if there was something that could be done before heading to Lowe’s. Lifesaver!
Thank you so much! You saved us a ton of grief and $$$$. Just came home from a vacation and had a week worth of laundry that needed to be washed. Within minutes of watching your video my washer was back in action, problem solved!!!!
you are a lifesaver man. I thought that I had fixed every gremlin that this washer had hidden in it. but the waterfall made me crap my pants, and it was one of my sons socks after all.
Thanks for the video, and the advice! I was all torn up thinking my machine my be totally screwed this time. I thought that I would at least have to go to the laundromat and find the time to fix this washer, again! I work lots of hours, not much free time. I have fixed the drain pump, and a electronic board on this machine, both with the help of good people on TH-cam like you. Again thanks, much appreciated!
Just had this happen to us. Wound up being a sock that got in there. With the help of a snake camera and a flex pick up tool with a claw it came out with ease. Wouldn't know where to look without you and this video. Thanks
Echoing so many of the comments here....this was exactly the problem we were having. Was getting ready to look at new ones until I found this video. Thank you so much!
THANK YOU! This was exactly what was wrong with my washer! I did exactly as you said... And found a pair of underwear! Amazing. You saved me $$$ to call a repair man!
You are without a doubt my hero! Thank you!! I followed your directions and sure enough, there was a big black sock up in there. I pulled it out with the pliers and no more waterfall.
I walked into the laundry room with water on the floor so I did not witness the washer overflow but followed your suggestion in checking between the membrane and spin chamber. I did not see the little underwear stuck in there the first time until I used a flashlight. Ran another load and it all works well. Thanks again!!
Thank YOU SOOOO MUCH!! I was having the "waterfall" problem...I watched your video and found the problem in a snap! saved me a few bucks too! thanks again!
Thank you so much. Ur video helped me from getting my washing machine serviced $$$$ just a week before xmas!!! I had a sock stuck in there. Who would've known. Thanks again
Wow. Such an easy fix and yet it had me thinking I had to take my stackables down and tear the washer apart. Turns out it was my daughters sock. Officially my washing machine hero!!
I wanted to thank you for taking the time to post this. I was having a tough day and was ready to go out and buy a new washer (just was frustrated at things not working the way they should). I came across this and sure enough, a sock was torn up and used some needle-nose pliers to remove the obstruction. Appreciate you making this and alleviating my frustration.
Thank you thank you thank you!! Single mom of 4 stressed out about this waterfall from the soap dispenser!! Luckily mine wasn’t a sock. 🧦 Come to find out , mixing my earth breeze laundry sheet with borax turns it into gel and clogs the soap tray drain 🤦♀️ Your video gave me the moment to breathe and investigate first!!!
You rock! This was exactly my problem...I pulled out 2 of my daughter's socks and thought I had it, turned it on and the water spilled out again so I checked more thoroughly and found 3 more socks! Holy crap!
Thank you very much, Praire, for posting this video. My novice troubleshooting and hope to DIY repair were beginning to fade and feared I may have to call a repairman and pay big bucks. I pulled out a full dress sock stuck in the 10:00 position! Using a flashlight helped. Fortunately, I heard what appeared to be water dripping from our laundry room on the first floor, and I discovered a waterfall flowing from the soap dispenser! Had I not been there to pull the plug, the water could have caused severe water damage to our brand new basement apartment, lodging our first tenant there for only two nights.
William E. Passalacqua I’m glad that not only I was able to save you $$$ on the repair bill, but also costly water damages!... I was monetized before YT changed their rules. I need 1000 subs to re-monetize, please subscribe?
Thank you so much!!! My Fiance and I were freaking out! we had no idea what was going on. The sock was right were you said it would be and its all torn up. haha. You are a life saver!!!
Mine started leaking tonight. Did a quick search describing the problem and found you. All is now well and fixed in under 10 minutes. Thank you for Sharing this video
I never respond to fix it videos but this really saved me a lot of time and money. It wasn't exactly what the video said but it gave me clues to where things could be stuck and that's where I found the darn sock. Thanks for the help brotha!
Spot on fix!!! Thank you for posting this. 10 o'clock saw the small sock from the kid jammed in the hole. Now I know where the socks actually disappear to...lol.
AMAZING!!!! I put a load in at 9pm, last MINUTE thing and I turn around and its water pouring out the front!! Went to my PHONE while SMH and I found your video!! 5 min later I was pulling my daughter's sock from the 10 o'clock location!!! Clothes are washing and I am HAPPY!! BTW WOMEN CAN DO IT TOO😀 THANKS AGAIN!!
Wow, thank you so much, it was very clearly described. I didn't know washing machine actually eat socks! This saved us a service call! Thank you so much, thanks you for posting!
Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! You just saved us having to buy a new washer!! I was totally expecting one of my daughters little socks...instead I pulled out a pair of my underwear! I can't even imagine how anything can get stuck in there! The membrane is so tight! Thanks again!!
Excellent, many thanks for posting this. Didn't have the pliers, but a long pair of scissors did the trick. I now no longer have the Niagara experience in my basement.
Thank you! My washer is slightly different, but I found that sticking my finger into the whole up top where the water goes in, I found a piece of plastic stuck in the entrance. So, a similar problem and fix. Thank you for keeping me from buying a new washer and/or hiring a repairman! :-)
Awesome! You just saved me from buying a whole new set. I thought it was about time for a new one given my machines are over 11 years old. Found my daughters underwear clogged. It was causing a leak and the tumbler from properly spinning.
heli400! i am sure God is gonna bless you for posting this! I had this same issue and was freaking out b/c i just purchased the washer a lil over a year ago... i wasn't able to pull it out from the side as you mentioned but once i got the washer open, i was able to find it. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!

I have a whirl pool WFW9250WW01 washer and this was the same issue. The video really saved me some time. I was planning to pull the unit and take the cover off to get to the tube connecting the soap dispenser and the tub, but your suggestion let me get the clog from the other end and saved me a lot of effort. Thank you. And in my case it was an eaten up sock that was causing the issue.
Thank you so much!!! I fixed my Whirlpool Tumblefresh Duet 4.0 with this video after taking it apart when I didn't need to. Yep Turns out it was the wife's panties blocking the water into the drum. You made me a hero to family bud. You're awesome for posting this, thanks again.
My wife looked for a long time unable to find anything in the crevice and then I found it right away when I looked. 😁 this was the exact issue, thank you! 😀
Thank you so much for the information! I thought I was going to have to just take this machine to the dump when this happened. I still may. This machine is horrible. I can't tell you how many clothes have been ruined by this washer. Your video was a godsend.
Bless your heart for posting this!!! You’re a life saver! My dad almost bought a new washer (as shopping is so difficult during covid) so you are an angel.... thank you very much 💕💕💕💕💕😃
This was awesome!! Your video helped me prove to my husband that I'm smarter than the average bear. I fixed it and it was, in fact, a sock! Thank you for posting this video. VERY VERY HELPFUL
Thank you so so so so so much for posting this video! New house, and this would’ve been another things on the list making me feel like I’ve bought the money pit. Easy fix, took less than 5 minutes, and it’s working normally now. Saved me time, money and my sanity.
Excellent! The first time this happened to me I pulled the entire front of the machine off, including the door. This was much easier and faster to do and worked like a charm when it happened again. Thanks!
thank you very much! this solved my problem. most of the troubleshooting posts were about faulty valves or drains and i was very sure mine wasn't. i was about to go to sears today to swipe my card for a new one. i really thank you very much!!!
yes it did solve my problem, i found a piece of garment stuck into the water outlet, that's almost unrecognizeable, most likely a sock. it also took me some effort to pull it out! just today, i stuck in my big comforter and found a small leak again, and you're right, it was overloaded so on the next load, i just threw in a regular load and it worked out just fine. thanks again!
Thank you! Right where you said, it took all of 2 minutes. Daughter held the flashlight. Jean F, use a pair of scissors in a pinch. It was my sock so now I am the one who has to put all socks in a bag!!
Thanks, saved me a day of disassembly to find out what was wrong. I had a set of curved hemostats which worked great. Now my wife wants me to find the other missing socks from years gone by.
Thank you so much for the video! I have the same washer with the same EXACT issue. Had a sock lodged in there and pulled out the mangled sock! Works like new again! You have saved me a repair bill, thanks for the upload!

OMG YOU HAVE SAVED MY FREAKIN LIFE!?Being a single mom with two kiddos isn't cheap and I almost had to again put off buying a car to get a new washer!?
Thank you sir you save me at least two hours of having to get to the dispenser hose as instructed to check for a "clog" on a newer Kenmore, when it was just a sock at 10 o clock!
Thank you so much for your video! You are an absolute LIFESAVER. I was about to have a breakdown because the apt I live in has so many problems with it. And this was the second time something happened to the washing machine (the first was an F-20 draining problem). You are so AWESOME and AMAZING!! THANK YOU a million times!!
Thank you for this video! It lead me to checking the drain between the pipe that comes out where you are talking about the sock getting stuck. Turned out I had something blocking the top of the drain causing the waterfall.
Thank you so much! We tried other things and they didn't work but after seeing your video, we found an adult shredded sock right where you said it would be!!!

Thank you so much. You saved my butt. I see everybody complains about this washer but I love it. So easy to work on and so few problems.
This happens to me today. Already started to search for new one. You saved me trip to scrap yard. 👍👍👍👍👍
Awesome video, thank you. Straight to the point and accurate. Fixed my washer after watching in 5 minutes.
That did the trick! Pulled out a "gaiter" and voila....no more waterfall. Thank you so much!
Thank you! My washer is slightly different, but I found that sticking my finger into the whole up top where the water goes in, I found a piece of plastic stuck in the entrance. So, a similar problem and fix. Thank you for keeping me from buying a new washer and/or hiring a repairman! :-)

Thank you ! thank you! this literally saved my life. In five minutes we had this fixed when we had NO clue how to fix thanks again!!!!
Thanks for the video!! Am definitely going to get a mesh bag to keep waterfall and drain clear! Again, a big thanks!!
Thank you for this video! It lead me to checking the drain between the pipe that comes out where you are talking about the sock getting stuck. Turned out I had something blocking the top of the drain causing the waterfall.
Now I know where those missing socks go!! Mine was in taters in that space you perfectly described.
Thank you!!!
Thank you so mutch, I was getting ready to call the repair man when i found your video ... it was exactly my problem !!! You sir saved me $$$
Thank you so much! We tried other things and they didn't work but after seeing your video, we found an adult shredded sock right where you said it would be!!!
