    i just want to take a moment to thank you.
    thanks to your videos i learned the necessairy techniques to repair our old riding-lawnmower with a honda engine, we had enjoyed riding around but had been left outside for a few years.
    through your videos ive been motivated to try and fix it, so i went outside and tried to start it, but it wouldnt.
    after a carb clean it would start but only for about a minute though sounding very rough.
    later i found out that he lost spark when getting warm, was given another ignition coil by a friend of my father, who like you repairs lawnmowers.
    now it runs very well and we can enjoy riding it again.
    thank you.

    Back in 1980 my brother brought home a 5hp Briggs 24" "Ride on" Lawnscout lawnmower brand new. Store was going out of business. I'm 6'2 tall, I mowed my parent's house for at least 15yrs. Mower stop running one day, took spark plug out ground electrode was worn almost completely off. PS had just forward , neutral and reverse and 4 non-puenmatic tires, no flats. that was one tough mower! Good luck and thanks for sharing 👍

    You sir have solved a mystery, I was given a B&S engine, there were no makings on it anywhere. I hunted on the internets, asked on the forums as to what engine it was. What you show here is what appears to be the same engine that I have. I now know what model to say when I am looking for parts (namely head gasket) Mystery solved.

    Nice job! The carburetors on those Briggs Intek engines are notorious for passing fuel and contaminating the crankcase oil due to the poor design (no outward pitch or fuel weep hole). It’s usually best to put a fuel shutoff valve in the supply line and close it after use. Neat little rider, I like the discharge chute deflector too!

    i was a lawnmower mechanic in the 70s for a major catalog store. one customers brought in his top-of-the line riding mower. when i checked the oil, a gas/oil mix poured
    out. i disassembled the carb and found a pinhole in the brass float. when i pulled the head, the cylinder was scored badly and the engine was ruined. i told the store
    manager to get him a new mower, but she didn't want to. she bought his mower and took it home only to find it was ruined just as i had said. you should leave all the
    plastic crap off as it is not necessary.

  • @myacidninjatheamazing1025
    @myacidninjatheamazing1025 ปีที่แล้ว

    Riddiculus mower, i always bought tractor-like mowers to look less stupid (i´m a big guy). But this nice restore video might just proven me wrong all these years, this seems like an agile, small, cheap machine that actually makes a really good job! Although, i honestly thinks that it takes a good mechanic, like this, to get the cheap mowers actually cut good. Straight out of boxes most cheap crap usually is just cheap crap. I bought new, factory made, mopeds, bikes and machinery (cheap china stuff) that been so poorly put together that you have to take out the welder to make it straight enough to even work. On belt sander i bought for $6 (new) was so poorly balanced from factory that it ripped the paper every time you started it. Never got it to work. Only $6, shure, but then why even make it..? Kepp up the good work, more videos please!
