This a really good movie, with the intense scenes like everyone's death and the fact that the surviving girls lost some of their clothes like their shoes. and that the fact that a flare spawned two helicopters at the end.
I think that it would've been even better if at 2:31, Poseidon could be heard underneath the surface of the ocean, breaking into pieces and imploding as it plummeted to the ocean floor.

It certainly gives a size comparison to the ship that was there and the ones now coming in. Dont know the full size of the ship but it must've been massive. Even in comparison to todays standard cruise liners.
Touching ending but there's just so much wrong with the ending. Normally the rescue helos would stay away and maintain a fairly high altitude, cause those blades throw up a LOT of downdraft. It's a horrible idea to fly right over a lifeboat, it'll just buffet the survivors with wind and water. Normally, they'd hover off a bit and drop a few rescue divers into the water, who'd then swim over, administer first aid, etc. They would only fly the chopper close by and low like that if someone was critically injured, warranting urgent medical evacuation, in that case the chopper would deploy a basket, the divers would load any critically injured on, and they'd be flown off to the nearest cutter or destroyer, wherever it came from.

Ships normally have automatic floating radio beacons that are ejected if the ship capsizes or sinks. The helicopters would have been homing in on that signal.
For everyone talking about the sudden spawn of a helicopter, it was revealed that the ship had sent out an sos right as they were sinking. The rescue teams were already coming to the last known location of the Poseidon. I doubt they knew how bad the situation was but they knew there would be someone in need of saving.
They should make a second one when they investigate where and how the ship sinked and go down to the wreck and bring the survivors to see what has become of the ship
In the original version The Poseidon Adventure only 6 people survived they made a second one called Beyond the Poseidon Adventure that screws over the original one by saying there were more survivors

Crazytrain2015 the captain during the movie said that as soon the ship was struck, the computer automatically sent out an emergency signal.

That would be nice but I think the entire reason the Poseidon is good is that it's a disaster film

In the original version The Poseidon Adventure only 6 people survived they made a second one called Beyond the Poseidon Adventure that screws over the original one by saying there were more survivors

Idk if they are MH-60 or UH-60 black hawk idk but what I know is there 2 black hawks
MH's modified for S & R ops. Navy can make mods on their choppers in a matter of minutes for specific missions. So can the Army, Air Force, and Marines.
