it is much easier to remove the collection of vacuum lines from the back of the heater control unit than going under the dash and disconnecting there just a couple plastic nuts and pops right off, at least that was the case with my repair and it worked as intended so moral of the story work smarter not harder

I have a 2002 Dodge Ram and my blower works and a/c and heater, however switching it to different vents does not. It's mostly coming out from the windshield area. What can this problem be?
+Raul Vazquez jr Thanks for watching! There could be multiple reasons why you are encountering this issue. If the controls are good then you will want to check the door actuators in the HVAC system.
I had the same problem. When you have a break in one of the plastic lines this will happen. The lines are by where the heater and Ac lines come out into the hood. Just fix the break and you should be good.
It’s a simple fix pop your hood go to left side of engine in back there is a vacuum hose that disconnected. It will be black and coming out of firewall
I think my cable on the temp control is out for whatever reason..... Can freewheel the temp knob with one finger it shouldn't be that soft. 😬 This gunna be fun to figure out. 😅
I have a 99 Dakota that the heater control box emits an annoying but steady 1khz tone from time to time when it's on anything except max ac. Cannot think of a reason for this box to have a piezoelectric beeper in it. It gets louder and softer when I move the selector.

Im unsure why they would make a video for a part they don't sell. It is helpful but frustrating.
Can you unplug the vaccum hose on the back and plug those into the new one?

You have what’s called “crazy vents” usually caused by a broken vacuum line along the firewall under the hood.
