The short is good, it looks great, well filmed, and even more so for one person doing it all. But I'm so tired of time travel, movies, shorts, cartoons, everything has time travel, I think it's a topic that I personally got quite tired of. At least you did something different and you didn't travel in time wherever you wanted. Greetings from Uruguay, happy 2025!
Thanks! Appreciate the kind feedback. Re the genre, that's fair. I'm personally sick of multi-verse stories so I get it. Time-travel is a sci-fi sub genre so it's not going anywhere ha.
Love this! Do you find the monitor screen seems much less contrasted to other monitors? It could just be my unit, but I feel I can only use it as a guide but not for color/contrast accuracy
Thanks, David! Yeah, I totally agree. I think it works as a DP monitor for solo stuff like this. Much better than monitor +. But it really shines as a director's monitor. I've been confused to see so many people use it on camera. I like that it has the option, but it's not really it's strength I'd say
Great video Scott ! I have a question. How do you remote control the camera for start/stop recording and focus track ? The Pyro doesn't cover that does it ? Do you keep a phone with monitor+ nearby ?
@@MrGnagnagnou thanks! it doesn't, sadly. I use autofocus. Sometimes I use monitor Plus, but it doesn't work very well on my Android. It has a really hard time connecting. Same thing with the Sony app. So I usually just lay hands on the camera either way. In terms of monitoring as a director's monitor, or even DP, I prefer using the hollyland though. Much less latency, and overall just feels better, especially with the strap and handles.
@@themarekch thanks! Nope. There's always a way. I use the gear because I have it. If all I had was a phone and some light bulbs I'd still be going after it. But tools can help. There's no denying it.

Great video 📹. However what if you don't have half this gear? I'm a failed filmmaker.

@ScottJeschke thanks. I'm getting back into filmmaking after more then 12 years put of it. The technology has changed so much.
