every few years i watch it, it stil gives me that thickening feeling in my stomach and shivering in my legs about that encouter. tigersharks are scary.
You can clearly see the culprit, “Mr. Shark” from 17-20 seconds into this video stalking his prey. He is as awesome as the Marlin! A World Class Shark meats World Class Marlin!

if you think about it, what every took it was HUGE, even a tiger shark or great white cant break through that whole bones and all that meat in 1 bite, thats a fucking HUGE shark
It may have been multiple sharks attacking at the same time. I've seen a video on TH-cam of an 800 pound Marlin getting attacked by Tiger Sharks as it's being reeled in, and you can see at least two sharks attacking it at the same time.

It is on top of the food chain, sharks got it cause you had its hands tied on a line! The way he speaks is as if the Tiger Sharks fairly took out the marlin? You can have a great white on a line and Tiger sharks will eat it.

Chase boat trailing swimmers in the Maui to Molokai distance swim across Paiololo channel saw a Tiger Shark larger than his 21 boat swim past him. Race had to be stopped. He went pale telling me the story years later.. We have no idea how large the largest Tiger sharks really are. This video sure suggests it’s larger than we think.

largest ever recorded was about 18ft, but that's still extremely rare, a 15ft tiger is a massive tiger shark

Question, I hooked up with a 600 pounder, when she came she was about dead. Have you ever experienced that? I fought her for about 3 hours. When we pulled her up she had a large mahi-mahi in her mouth. I was gonna release but because of the circumstances we brought her in.
yes mate happens sometimes especially more likely with the bigger blues as they dive deep. Thats why they use 130 wides for fish over 400lbs to bring them in faster. When a big blue gets pissed, they can easily snap 130lb line on just above freespool

Holy fuck that shit sucks I've attempted and I nearly killed myself after catching a 400 lb marlin.
Marlin has no chance to get away being caught on a line. Its same as a dog on a leash tied up to a pole and being attacked.. There is little it can do to protect itself and it cant high tail it out of there

Ridiculous... As they pull the Marlin's head into the boat he reflect on how incredible it is that a top of the chain apex predator like the Marlin can get taken out by a shark... But the reason Marlin's don't get taken out by sharks is because they have such incredible speed... but by keeping it on the line for so long they ended up turning the Marlin into shark bait. When you think of it that way its pretty sad.

Hey, what happened to the little bit of footage after 20 seconds? There is 3 to 5 seconds missing. You put a fade of white in place of it. For anyone who wants to know how big the shark was that ate this beautiful animal, just look at the reflection of the fish that is between the boat and the Marlin. The reflection is not bubbles, it is a shark. I commented on this many times through the years, but ALL my comments are some how missing. Why? $$$ How much money would be lost due to knowing that monsters truly exist in the ocean?! Truth is known to a very small percentage of the population, like the fact we know or have an opinion that we know everything about 5% of the ocean. BUT, when a video like this shows up.... well guess what... your nuts thinking its a Megalodon. Well, it is.
