I think she would be in full control of her leaving. She was promoted to executive producer. I could see her in a limited role off screen while living it up in California with her hunky husband Mark.
I don't think she is going to be fired; that kind of job has a shorter life span than one might think. Despite the million dollar paycheck, it takes a toll. When she can't remember from one day to the next what she said--well that is the toll she may not tolerate for long.
The thing is, Ryan is more dominant and easily outsmart Kelly (in hosting/interviews stuff, and I'm not Ryan's fan). Kelly on the other hand is so bossy, and happens to be "senior" on the show. Can't wait for more awkward and cringe moments in the future.
