Gotta disagree about Agatha ep3. While, yes, there were 6 whole minutes of credits after the actual episode, the episode itself played out like a full individual story. It introduced the problem, worked it and resolved it satisfyingly while moving along the larger plot and raising new questions and answers about the protagonists. Other short episode series simply felt like they ended abruptly with one of the above things missing and that's what I always disliked about several of the other D+ shows that clearly didn't understand TV as well as movies. That said, I caught it on an ad supported account and I have to say if all of these streamers are leaning into this format that they need to rediscover how to make shows with proper scene lead outs to fit placing ads. Some cut aways felt rough.
I understand that a lot of the time it's humorous, but I don't understand the need to rate everything against other shows. So much of what I watch is based on my mood. A show I thought was a 10 when feeling a bit blue will often be a 2 when I'm in a good mood. I just like what entertains me.
I have to disagree about episode 3 of Agatha feeling short. It didn't to me. I think because it was formatted for a trial each show to overcome. We get a resolution on each episode. I think for atleast me some shows seem too short because I am dying for answers and a lot of shows don't give any answers til the last episode of a season.
MAX’s on a run, from HOTD, to Industry, My Brilliant Friend, Penguin, next is Dune, then James Gunn’s Creatures, and then we get into 2025 with Last of Us, White Lotus, Peacemaker, IT, Dunk and Egg, and others. Come on
I strongly disagree about Agatha episode 3. To me it felt better paced than episode 1 for sure, and just as jam packed with story as episode 2. I don't think stretching it out to make it an hour would've done anything but hurt the episode. It was an escape room episode so by nature it requires time pressure and a frantic pace, and I think they captured that. And they don't want to let the teases of the witches backstories linger for too long so we learn too much. It was the right amount of everything for one episode of this show. Forcing it to be longer would've affected the pacing, and so this is one of those instances where I think the same thing you say about movie runtimes should apply.
This comes down to 'what counts as a spoiler', which everyone has a different answer for. He mentioned some story details for the episode, which to some people counts as major spoilers, and for others is not a spoiler at all. But again, for some people, just knowing something like 'they have a trial to complete' counts as a spoiler.
I miss the midnight drops... If it's a show I'm interested in, I can get up at 4am, put on some coffee... and enjoy the new episode with my breakfast before heading to work.
What really ticks me off is John considers Oz Cobb/Penguin the tertiary antagonist of The Batman when you really consider the Hierarchy of Villains in that movie, Falcone and Riddler are pretty much on the same plane, Falcone while being Oz's superior, also has a lot of influence because of the Renewal fund, he managed to take something with good intentions and use it to fund his Criminal Empire, which lead to Edward Nashton to become The Riddler and eventually strike him down. A more accurate way of phrasing it is to say Falcone is the overarching antagonist, because he is a villain who's power stems from his actions in the past that have influenced the present in contrast to the main antagonist, Riddler. While Penguin is the secondary antagonist.
@@tylerhenk87 I didn’t like The Acolyte either. But, John always says “I’m not gonna keep talking about something if I didn’t like it.” Yet, he’s still talking shit four months later. Penguins reported numbers were US while Acolyte was WORLDWIDE and one extra day. The comparison is idiotic. So Penguin viewership was also higher in general.
Why compare Acolyte to Penguin? They are completely different shows? Or if the goal is to compare two completely different shows... why not compare it to a new anime or something? Weird choice for comparative pick in my opinion.
@@philipolivares2484 Then its a weird thing for the other person to compare. Either way, this specific comparison between these two shows still doesn't make sense to me... and, giving some bad comparative conversation he saw/had on the wild internet a full news story, seems weird to me. Perhaps I would have just preferred a different news story then. Maybe that's my issue. Who knows. Have a great day.
@@kurtmaryville4941They are both tv series, hence they are always comparable, it's not like you can't do that just because you personally feel like you shouldn't, animated series are a different medium, same goes for movies, so in those case the comparison makes less sense, but TV series are all part of the same medium regardless of their genre and targeted audience, so there is nothing that can stop people from comparing *breaking bad" and "friends" if they feel like it, there is nothing wrong with it. In this specific case, the comparison wasn't even between the content of the shows, it was merely a statistic comparison between the pilots episodes, so what the shows being different has anything to do with how much viewership they gained with their opening episodes? Yeah, I loved episode 3. Simple as that. And Ballerina looks spectacular. I will be there to watch day one. TLOU Part 2 is my favorite of the games. So, yeah. I'm hyped on what I saw trailer wise.
Sooo, you're currently using Disney plus for free? And you have no plans on signing up? Other than a NOT PAYING potential viewer... What exactly does Disney lose by cracking down on password sharing?

Has anyone been prosecuted under anything for password sharing a streaming account?
@beaver6d9 OK... so we agree it is morally wrong? And therefore you shouldn't do it? And Disney are justified in taking steps to stop people from abusing their service. It is reasonable that they expect all users to actually pay? OK sweet, so have nothing to argue over.
