Funnily enough there is an upcoming Netflix Christmas thriller called “Carry-On” with Taron Egerton and Jason Bateman, which judging by the trailer should have been a theatrical release.
I wanna know who tf greenlit 'Red One' to be made and get a theatrical release? Whoever the big wigs are that said 'Yes let's make this movie and release it in theaters and here's is $200 M's, now go make it. Whoever it is or whom ever they are needs to get demoted.
Very good to see passionless ai movies flop starring the king of mid movies 👏 🎉 no more dwayne setting the action genre, and movie industry as a whole, back !
I don’t understand why John keeps saying that no one went to see “The Accountant”. It made $155 million worldwide. I know it’s not a blockbuster, but it did very well, especially, considering its budget was $44 million.
Yea it was successful financially but extremely divisive with both Audience and Critics. Basically 50/50 during it's Theatrical run. It only got attention when it went to streaming and people were like, huh this is actually pretty decent. Personally enjoyed the movie.
When will Hollywood executives learn that big name stars don't bring in box office receipts anymore. Sure, they can help bring awareness to a movie/tv show, but those days are over. Only three things can help bring in box office success. One, a beloved or well-known preexisting IP. Two, a very interesting premise like when audiences saw the first trailers for movies like Get out or A quiet place. Lastly, the great Christopher Nolan. He's the only player in Hollywood that people will go to the theaters when a new movie of his comes out.
Depends on what you call "Good" cause he stars in a lot of movies people enjoy. Maybe the right way to say is when was the last successful movie he had.
I just got out from seeing Red One, and it's not a perfect movie, but I loved it. I think it's one of my favorite Christmas movies now. I'll have to see it in IMAX next week, just to be sure.... And I saw Elevation a few days ago, and I enjoyed that too!
That comment about Netflix cancelling Arcane had a few things wrong with it. Netflix just bought the distribution rights for Arcane. Riot is the creative studio behind it and they are the ones that decided to finish off this particular story with its second season. They previously stated their intention to continue telling stories with the world but move on from the Piltover/Zaun conflict. Netflix deserves no credit for the creative process, nor does it deserve any blame for what can be perceived as too short of a run.
the thing i dont get is people crying about a show getting "cancelled" early, but then go on to complain when a show overstays its welcome and has a terrible later season that ruins everything. its one or the other. its ok for a show to only have a couple of seasons. so long that's the story they wanted to tell.
As someone with an unfortunate name, I thought the benefits of working in Holywood was you could pick your professional nom de plume. Why oh why would Mr Dick Wenk not take advantage of this tradition?
Saw Red One here in Thailand already. Enjoyable enough, to be honest, but I have no idea why it cost that much. Felt like a streaming movie, but was Fun to see in the theater with the family. Its a bit early for the holidays in my opinion… before Iknew the budget, I thought putting it the the theater was just to hype it for streaming at the holday
So about the red one movie i also agree maybe john cena would best for a goofy christmas movie and about the cost remember apparently dwane johnson is known for being notorious late to set making the budget go up, so maybe that has some reason for the budget.
maybe The Rock delays also adds a little bit to those 250 mil to the budget ? how much less would you guys think they could have save if The Rock was on time every day ?
But they are going to release it on amazon prime quickly and alot of success is based on that is it not?...like red notice. It wasn't even meant to come on theatres I'm sure it was put on as extra
I thought some of his movies were good. I enjoyed walking tall, faster, fast five, snitch, pain and gain, jumanji, fighting with my family, the mummy returns and moana.
Love the show John, The Accountant made 155 million on a 44 million budget. You've said it didn't make any money several times, which is why no sequel. the first John Wick made 86 million on a 20 - 30 million budget. What the F**ck are you talking about.
I think my thing with iron heart is it feels like they are just trying to replace tony. I would think the next step for iron man character would be Harley from Iron Man 3 becoming the next one. YOu cant tell me a kid that gets a new Stark workshop and worked on a iron man suit wouldnt try to make his own. Idk thats just me though
Sure but Ironheart is a character from the comics who pretty much was a Tony Stark replacement for a while. So for better or worse they’re just adapting what the comics did.
I actually wanna watch Red One, however…we haven’t even gotten too Thanksgiving yet!!! I’d like my Turkey to digest before I start watching Christmas movies!!!
Is it just me or does it seem that The Roc does so much volume that it feels like he puts out a lot of flops to go along w his many hits? They should have made Morbius and the Venom movies R rated. They would have been a bit more fun. A vampire and a head eating alien, especially Carnage, need an R rating.
I personally put aside my brewing dislike for DJ over the whole ego-driven DCEU failed take-over and went to see this with my husband and adult niece. We thought it was a fun little movie. There was a quick sequence where I thought the CGI just looked...unfinished, and I'm not the kind of person to really notice those things unless it involves Henry Cavill's face - which I've...studied in depth. But overall, the story was decent, heart-warming Christmassy message without being overly sappy and it did have quite a few funny moments. My husband and I had a real laugh trying to figure out exactly HOW Santa gets snatched considering he was absolutely the most BUFF Santa ever - lol - but it was really just entertaining! Could it have been a streaming movie, sure. How it cost quite so much...I'm don't get. But we saw it, we laughed, we had a good time. Lighten up, critics! It's Christmas for crying out loud. 🎅
Talking about Crap movies coming out right now Jack Black has one new Christmas movie called dear santa, yeah that looks awful thank god it's going to streaming
Hi, Remember what Mr. K. Evans said to those who did not agree with a lifestyle most Don't agree with(Won't view him as Cpt. America the same/Mr. Keaton-Batman also*)so don't be Surprised with the results especially now the Elections over. Thanks
That's a bunch of bs, Karambala didnt lose because of her skin color. And I supported the Cheeto Man and I will be first in line for Captain America New World Order
I liked Red One. There are some good scenes and laughs and also very new concepts. But there are a few badly written scenes as well. Overall, I enjoyed it
Red One was packed in Hawaii on its Sunday prewview.. it was said it made 28 million in one day.. It was a great movie, I think John wants it to flop in a way, why not mention its 28 million in the special showing... not comparing it but the last movie to pack a big Hawaii theater was Deapool and Wolverine
@@kennethkidd3550 There are plenty of sources that Google links to saying that its overseas haul was 28M. I don’t see anything talking about the previews.

This movie should have been a Netflix special.
Well it would have been a Amazon one since they are making them...but agreed
Not gonna lie until I read your comment I thought it was lmao
@julio1148 When i first saw this advertised i thought the same lol!!
Funnily enough there is an upcoming Netflix Christmas thriller called “Carry-On” with Taron Egerton and Jason Bateman, which judging by the trailer should have been a theatrical release.
More like a Netflix special education movie
Rumor has it, John bought ALL the Red One tickets 😭

@@chopchop1437 I read a test screening report saying that the movie is ChatGPT’s idea of what a four quadrant blockbuster should be.
Bad big budget films with big stars have been a thing for like 40+ years. But nowadays if someone is bad it’s because AI was involved 😅
If I had for every time J.k. Simmons played Santa in a movie, I’d have 2 nickels. It’s not a lot, but it’s strange it happened twice.
Well then wait till u find out that Tim Allen has played Santa 3 times
@ granted that was a trilogy of movies. I was referring to this and the movie Klaus being 2 separate movies that the same casting choice.
Wasn’t this movie over budget because the rock was always late. I thought this was that story from last year?
I'm pretty sure that people got tired of Johnson
I don’t understand why John keeps saying that no one went to see “The Accountant”. It made $155 million worldwide. I know it’s not a blockbuster, but it did very well, especially, considering its budget was $44 million.

Kris Carr looking great in red!
Jonathan looking even better in grey😩🤤
And Ray in a hat 😛🤩
Accountant 2 hype!! The first one was a late bloomer, it was the highest rented movie of 2017
Looking like franchise viagra going limp😂
Ray came in today ready to scrap! 😂
A Rock film flopping?!?! That's ludicrous!!!!!
Just Red One! And I enjoyed watching it. I found it very entertaining

I don’t feel bad for him. He’s got terrible taste in career choices.
John Cena is in Red One. You just can't see him 👋

Kraven has a generational talent in JC. Margin call is a masterpiece.
Time for a double feature of Red One and Dear Santa -- two WTF Christmas movies this year. 😆
