    I know you've probably covered this, but how about insulation rating?

      @@ravenhartinger8109 I don't know the numbers, but it rates very high. Of course the thicker the better.

    I tried that mix for my building. It's anything but fast, takes forever to mix small amounts.

      It's possible to scale it up though.

    how you handle termites ?

    • @puremindaplacetosit7421
      @puremindaplacetosit7421  15 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@ilovetrees33 the main structure is of a hardwood impenetrable to termites. The caña and other light wood is mostly for supporting the clay mixture until it hardens. The clay also repels insects.

    Мы также козлятник строили,только ставили опалубку из двух досок и переставляли их. Работа быстрее и качественной идёт.

    It looks like you are building beautiful structures in a lovely way.
    But I wonder how well this would stand up to an earthquake. It looks to me like the plaster would fall off of the wall. It looks like it needs more of a wattle lattice to hold it up

      That's what I did, using twists of clay-hay as the weavers. When dried, it's insanely strong against impact, although load bearing is dependent on the supporting framework.

    Yes! At last someone else proving the fact that hay is as good as agricultural straw for building with in LCS. It's not straw you're using BTW.

      Very true! I never worry about it, as long as its dry. Thats a great cob playlist you have there BTW, thanks for the comment.

      I missed that. So hay works just as well as straw for the integrity of the structure?

    • @spindelnett6315
      @spindelnett6315 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@KennyRider137 Yes, in fact hay is stronger. I've recently built walls of long hanks of hay soaked in clayslip. Upright studs of a regular stemwood (I used hazel), and you weave the clayed hay horizontally between them as though it were a loom. Don't bat the weave too much when a row's completed - just enough to close the gaps. Let it all firm up before plastering. It's earthquake proof.

    This is the same thing Africans were doing (in peace) until the Europeans invaded their lands and called them barbaric and needed civilization 😂🤣😂

      Africans have experienced a lot of violence, warring tribes long before Europeans arrived. Most peoples are happy to have benefits of advancing technology, A/C, improved medical care, etc.

    • @GnomeInPlaid

      No, Africans were brought to the coast for the markets and sold there, by their own relatives and tribesmen. Europeans were too prone to the endemic illnesses in the interior of the continent. That's why they didn't go there. I know you don't know who Thomas Sowell is nor have you listened to any of his videos, and it shows. Look for Thomas Sowell TV channel. Then you might learn of how slavery was ended by the English attacking the slavery raiding ships. I know, I'm wasting my time on someone who can look on his own tv or computer and see the shops being robbed and people being brutilized in your own country, in your own neighborhood, but you'll still say it's your own fault or the fault of the person who was just walking along, and still pity the foreigner committing the crime. But for those of you that are sick of hogwash, look up Thomas Sowell. You'll be glad you did.
