After my short walk on Wembley High St, I sat outside MacDonald's and a group children came up to me asking for money.

      Did you give them any?

The only people I give money to are the homeless. They just sit on the pavement and are not threatening. I refused to give anything to these kids and I thought they would attack me but luckily they didn't. I was later told they were Somalian immigrants.

Excellent comparison on safety between China, UK and India. Safety is freedom. Without safety there is no freedom.

"Why are you looking at me?" normal people normally do not ask such an aggressive question.

In India it's not just the one r@₱€ is it? It's rampant.

Certainly a problem there, but the point I was making was that you cannot label an entire country, certainly a big country based on the actions of the few.

*I am living in HK. I have been to UK around 1990. At that moment, London was pretty safe, even at night. But now I do not dare to visit London again without joining a tour. Because there are too many bad news I heard from youtubers, scamming, stealing etc.*

It’s still very safe, just in comparison to China it lacks a little. I still believe the chances of encountering crime are low in the UK but the fear of crime is there especially in some cities during the evening….. Don’t give up on the UK, go there and have a great time👍

Very safe. However if you ever feel unsafe, head to your local “Goose” fine dining establishment where you can enjoy great food and drink in a safe environment 👍

Well Toby, first of all ... good work and good timing, just right after that notorious one of that serpent. Pro-china (if i could say that) vloggers should address those controversial topics and debunk them if their not true, there's at least 6 channels who keep bombarding western audience, possibly yours too, with their propaganda where they use non related vids or mistranslate Chinese characters, those vloggers shouldn't take a stance such "it's not up to me, i'm just a guest in this country" and just keep showing us the food; tourist destinations; infrastructures\megaprojects ... Now look at the situation right now, many people whose heart in the right place become confused and that in somehow discard your credibility in their eyes whether you like it or not, can anyone blame them? they don't have tools to fact check them, you and many who live in china do, but unlike you here, many of them big channels sadly didn't use those tools to make a vid from time to time to expose them.
Me par example, pre 2022 i listened to these two (Serp & Cmilk), i didn't pay much attention to what they say but i ended up with the conclusion that China as a whole is still a third world dictatorian country. Then i saw vids about the futuristic cyberpunk cities of china, my jaw is dropped, no way this is a third world country? Then China's contents dominate my watching time for a while, and because of that the algorithms keep suggesting me those Falun Gong channels, i keep avoiding them cause i instinctively associate them with those two who never show me that side of China (even though i didn't know what's FLG at that time). Fast forward to late 2022, one day i clicked on one of them vid who claim to "reveal the truth about cyberpunk cities of China", then i discover something called "Tofu Dreg", and here i am again, don't knowing what to believe anymore. from then, every time i watch a vlogger walk in the street showing off how clean and aesthetic they are i can't help but to ask in the back of my mind: is those cyberpunk lights just a facade? will they survive a mild earthquake? can they last even a 14 years before they start crumbling? i become confused and it's not my fault. But i keep digging and digging in this topic until i found some interesting facts :
1- South Korea in 90s also had this phenomena.
2- Taiwan had that phase too during their development.
3- UK had this problem too in 60s during their public housing program.
4- the three above can just consider a province in China, hence why if it happen in China it happen in scale due to area and population.
5- it's all about statistics when it come to the total "collapse of bridges" between China and any western country.
6- floods of 2021\2022\2023 are not a result of shoddy constructions, but a result of how much rain that dropped in small amount of time in that province. Neither Germany in 2021 nor Tokyo Japan in 2010s before their anti-flood project was capable of handling even half of that quantity.
7- China are evolving at a fast speed, so many things changed dramatically in just those four years post COVID. one of them is the policies that lead to this situation in first place, hence why the government don't want to bail out Evergrand.
So basically, many accusations like those their debunk could boil down to just one simple logical explanation which is ... statistics. 10 or even 5 attacks such those in the whole year in a country like Finland is nothinburger, but multiply them to the scale of china's population, where everyone is obsessed with recording every fly in the sky with their phone, and don't forget about all of those CCTV and their webm ... OH ... MY ... GOD, now suddenly you get the feeling that it's unsafe more than Robocop's Detroit. People always underestimate two things, the per capita metric in statistics, and the exponential growth.
But Toby ... this is just me, i couldn't do this if it's not for my curiosity and the plenty of time i had in my hand, and this is just one controversial topic from many. majority of people are not like me, they will watch the first vid algorithms will suggest them about China and move on to the next thing, of course it will be about those controversial topics, they are the ones who get viewed the most, then those people will spread misinformation by telling others what they saw, then you get labled as a CCP shill. And all of this cause there's right now just one camp who speak non stop about those "hot" topics and it's the anti-Sino camp, ignoring them or those topics didn't do the other camp any well. i don't want you to become obsessed with those topics like them, just addressing them and fact check those channels from time to time is enough.
I'm no Sino nor Caucasian, i'm just a normie who don't like to end up at my senior years in real life New Vegas. and please forgive my English.
