Simple, its not poverty, but a subculture. Men and women are always seperate, especially boys and girls growing up in many parts of india are not allowed to have friendships or interact especially after hitting puberty. This divide does create these issues especially the upbringing and how boys are brought up. India is huge with immense diversity, every state is different. And even the values are different. The state that this couple encountered the unthinkable has the lowest GDP, one of the lowest literacy rates. Each state is different like its a different country within a country. Like african continant or the European continent. People from south india, northeast are different, even the poor are educated and women are not veiled. Also the caste system is a practice only followed by the hindus. Its long abolished but its dabbled in some ways especially finding groom or bride. Some people though tend to religiously follow the system and believe the so-called "evil eye". India is also NOT a hindu country but rather a secular country, with different religions and tribal religions. To all the chinese people out here in the comment section, do you know your own country? Have you visited all the provinces? Obviously, us folks have no idea about china because of government censorship. Although women are regarded as equals everywhere in china, why are there soo many female adoptees in the world. Its only ever girls! A Chinese friend told me that boys are preferred than girls in man regions. China too has problems very much so than india. There are also places in china that are poor and apparently people shit on the streets. They just don't cover those things in media.

And that Spanish lady she went that area where even local people don't go , in india there is specific region known as red belt basically maoist area , there people with guns and want to make india a communist country you can search about it .. It's a humble request to the visiters please take locals advise seriously .. And don't compare india with china , china is a fully developed state in comparison india is still developing, we have many problems and we will solve it .. Thanks for raising this issue . Some people making some racist comments by using this incident as a shield .. And those reports sorry but they are totally biased , and yup I can't deny that women condition is not so good , but these are reports who claimed that people of Gaza(war zone ) and Ukraine(war zone )are happy than Indians ,

There are many Mainland Chinese students in Sydney, Australia and several come from Christian families back in China. I meet them in my church where they have come on Sundays and several have even been baptised over the years here before returning to China. The West seem to have a completely screwed up image of religion in China - which prescribes literally to "render unto Caesar what is Caesar's and to God, what is God's" - the actual separation of church from the state. No interference by religious orders in the matters of the state basically and if one adheres to that, there's no problems to be expected. China underwent a terrible revolution called "the Taiping Rebellion" led by a fanatical Christian convert that resulted in the deaths of some 20 million people from 1850 to 1864 and no one in China, less alone the Chinese Government wants to see that sort of thing repeated. However, the Chinese Constitution also guarantees the Chinese people freedom of religion and it has adhered to that.

In China, if a God can't solve a problem at the people's needs, the God will be abandoned immediately, because people don't accept practically useless God, that's why after thousands of years, maybe only roughly 15% of Chinese has some kind of faith of all kinds of Gods, practically even much less.

100 million strong Christians and 300 million church goers according to American stats on Christianity in China. On top of that 300 million Muslims. There are more mosque in Xinjiang-Xian, (30+ million population) than the whole USA (330 million). The rest of the 900 million are mostly Taoism/Buddhism. They even allow paganism for the monirities. All these with a shadow of Confusianism cast over. The only difference with the west particularly USA is that China doesn't allow Christianity to meddle with earthly politics and rightly so and its biblical. It's heresy and blasphemous to do so. ‭John 18:36 NASB1995‬ [36] Jesus answered, “My kingdom is not of this world. If My kingdom were of this world, then My servants would be fighting so that I would not be handed over to the Jews; but as it is, My kingdom is not of this realm.”

When you are actually in China, to even ask the question whether religion is practised in China would immediately strike you as a silly question. Religious festivals are widely cekebrated by millions of devotees. But the question is raised most often by Christians in particular because of their special circumstances. Or rather, its unfortunate circumstances. In recent times, Christianity in China had largely been associated with colonialism, western interference, militarism, and western triumphalism. This is not to say that there were no good work done by Christians in the field of education, medicine, social change and general do-gooding. But the reality is that the Christian mission to bring its message to China is often messy. Most of the efforts are directed from outside China by Christian denominations or mission groups tied to western denominations. They bring with them their baggage of denominational traditions, history, rituals, hymn books, literature, etc. There are a few non-denominational or inter-denominational efforts, but they are exceptions to the rule. Naturally, the headquarters of these denominations are in the west where they had started, such as the Vatican or Plymouth, as the case may be. Very often, their foreign roots and control sit uncomfortably with the local government in China. Doctrinally, many would also question why the church in China should be foisted with the unwanted baggage of westetn Christianity such as the Reformation, wars, denominations, tele-evangelists, etc., of the western world? One can easily understand the antipathy, particularly on the part of local government officials who often see a church beholden to a western organisation as a threat.

One case I heard is very interesting, one church in China built an illegal statue on top of a building, probably many tons which is overloading, the gov ask them to remove it based on the Safety issue, the Church owner refuse to remove the statue, as a result the Gov warned many times finally force to remove that statue. Then the western media immediately report as the GOV tries to ban religion. The western mainstream media especially the Epxxx Times, N/D didn't tell the whole story at all.

Medialcanthus: Rice wine is a Chinese invention and spread to Sinospheric country Japan. Japanese culture is a Tang Dynasty culture replica. Google search for Japanese missions to imperial China and Japanese missions to Tang Dynasty. Japan is in a campaign to misbrand everything Chinese invented as anything but Chinese. They call it de-sinicization 去中国化。Rice, rice wine, rice noodles fen (pho in Sini-Vietnamese), chopsticks, hotpot, lamian (ramen in Sino-Japanese), tea, tea ceremony, matcha, soy sauce, bean curd doufu (tofu in Sino-Japanese), miso, sushi, dumplings gaozi in Cantonese (gyoza in Sino-Japanese), koi fish, cherry blossom trees, paper folding art, weiqi, penzai (bonsai in Sino-Japanese) all originated from China and are Chinese inventions. Japan never failed to copy from China through different dynasties. They are trying to destroy and erase China geographically and culturally by misbranding everything Chinese as “Japanese, Korean, Vietnamese, Taiwanese, Asian”, and they hire massive 1450 troll armies distorting Chinese history, such as lying about Confucius being “Korean” or “Koreans invented Oracle Bones Script”. They hire 1450 troll armies to shout slogans like “free Taiwan, free Tibet”……It’s an intentional effort by Japan to culturally genocide China, to historically erase China by intentional historical revisionism, and to geographically carve up China. They agree with USA at the end of WWII to release class A criminals back to Japan in exchange for medical data from Unit 731. These class A criminals become the right winged government that change history textbooks euphemising and denying crimes committed during WWII and worshiping class A criminals as “national heroes” in the Yasukuni Shrine. I didn’t notice this trend until I saw some absurd Japanese propaganda and Korean propaganda advertising “washi” (Japanese paper) and “hanji” (Korean paper) when paper is one of the Four Great Chinese Inventions. “Japanese Peking duck”, “Japanese wok”, “Japanese chashu”, “Japanese shumai” are some of the most absurd I’ve seen so far when my Cantonese culture like wok, char siu (chashu in Sino-Japanese), a signature Cantonese dim sum dish siu mai (shumai in Sino-Japanese) are all slapped the “Japanese” misbrand. Matalang, tanghulu, and zhajiangmian are all misbranded as “Korean”. Rice noodles fen (fun in Cantonese) invented during the Qin Dynasty is misbranded as “Vietnamese”. Recently I saw another absurd one, our Cantonese claypot rice becomes misbranded as “Malaysian claypot rice”. They are stealing Chinese cultural and appropriating them as their own, while slandering China as a “copycat” country. Can you imagine calling them “Japanese Eiffel Tower”, “Korean Mona Lisa”, “Vietnamese Arc de Triomphe”, just so they can destroy French culture and the country France? Oh don’t forget misbranding the southern Min dialect 闽南话 as “Taiwanese” 台语。Indian bots and Filipino bots funded by CIA and 1450 troll armies funded by Japanese class A criminal right winged government are in a joint effort to do this cultural genocide with the excuse of “fighting against communism”. Why don’t they fight their own Japanese Communist Party in Japan and have a Cold War proxy war since they invented McCarthyism? And even after China coming out of communism with the economic reform in 1978, they keep using this excuse to slander, do historical revisionism, and de-sinicize. Anyone daring to speak up against tore absurdity and cultural appropriation is slandered as “wumao “, “CCP bot”, “CCP shill”, etc. Japan is intentionally using the “communism” to culturally and geographically take over China like Satan in his pride trying to play god and blaspheme God as the devil…..
