      Thanks guys! I stopped training at gym when i was 27 years old because of my disc degeneration! A wake up call in my mid thirties when i was having various other health issues started learning nutrition, fasting, doing calisthenics, yoga and running finally brought me back in recent years. I wish i knew how important eating better, sleeping enough early, sunlight and being active really was. Thank you for the love ❤️

    can you make a video or share some tips on deadlift for tall guys

    • @zandrey7009
      @zandrey7009 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      As a tall guy myself, focus more on leverages rather than height. You could have two guys of identical length (6"4 in my case), but with entirely different structures such as arm length, upper/lower body length(I.E Torso-dominant). The different structures will inherently require different setups for deadlifts and squats.

    • @trolologuy02
      @trolologuy02 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@zandrey7009 I’m also in the same boat, 6’4” but I have huge legs. My dad is 6” shorter than me, but if we sit down, he still sits taller than me because his torso is so much taller than mine lol. I’m curious how leverages like that affect the big 3 lifts (DL, Squat, Bench)

    • @zandrey7009
      @zandrey7009 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@trolologuy02 Aint always easy to be tall. My dad's physique is pretty much an untrained copy of my physique lol. All the same leverages.
      As for how leverages affect the big 3, the first (and maybe most impactful) leverage advantage/disadvantage is long arms. Long armed guys usually excel at deadlifts because of a much more upright starting position and easier lockout. See the best sumo deadlifters for easy examples. Shorter arms will inevitably lead to a less upright position (think the lower part of a good morning) and a much deeper hip position to compensate for lack of leverage).
      In the bench, however, long armed athletes do not usually excel (compared to relative strength at least). Just like long arms equate to an earlier lockout in the deadlift, short arms do the same for a bench press. Think of short armed bodybuilders like Lee Priest, and you can see how much less ROM he needs in order to hit the chest effectively compared to Haftor Bjornson.
      As for the squat, the most impactful leverage advantage seems to be Torso/legs ratio. A 70/30 ratio (Chinese weightlifters for reference) gives an advantage in terms of an upright position on the squat. A 30/70 ratio will inevitably lead to a "good morning" squat simply because of the physiques in play. Higher hip-bone leverage requires a deeper hip hinge in order to descend without falling.
      Hope that helps you out brother! Just ask if you're wondering about anything

    • @DrDavidmx
      @DrDavidmx ปีที่แล้ว

      Not just long or short legs, have to consider the ratio between the femur and tibia, that can have a lot to say.

    I've always heard that you should not deadlift unless you're deadlifting for the sake of deadlifting that it's not an exercise that's utilized in any aspect of daily life like when are you ever going to have to pick 400 lb up off the ground just to bring it to your knees and drop it again it's never going to be used in real life other than for the sake of purely deadlifting await

    • @woutvandermeulen1492
      @woutvandermeulen1492 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'd say alot of exercises are useless with that analogy.
      I get the growing group of people thinking deadlifting isn't worth the risk to reward you get from it though.
      I don't think this has been researched enough.
      Personally my chest was weak when i started lifting and alot of people i coached did have a weak chest aswell and i would argue that in our normal day to day we just really don't use those muscles(the chest).
      So should everyone stop benching?
      I have not gotten an injury from deadlifting, however i did from benching and squatting.
      Should i stop doing those then?
      With proper form and knowing that all lifts have risk of injury i would argue most exercises if they promote enough growth they are worth it.

    • @El_Goblino_
      @El_Goblino_ ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That analogy is so dumb you don't do exercises to apply them to real life you do then to gain muscle or to gain strength when are you ever gonna side lateral raise something ? Or do chest flies with something? Your analogy just screams room temperature IQ + 3 months tops at the gym 💀

      Dumbest shit I’ve read lol. I’m a mover, ie I help people move from one place to another by loading up a giant truck with all their furniture.
