    "Eddie's methods are, in my opinion, the most sophisticated ever devised."
    Ed: "I just lifted higher reps in the beginning and then lower reps at the end"

    • @cellardoor8943
      @cellardoor8943 6 ปีที่แล้ว +18

      Sophisticated doesn't necessarily mean complicated...Higher volume during off -season and higher intensity closer to a meet is basically what powerlifters do today and Ed competed at a time when knowledge was very limited (compared to present day).So his methods really were sophisticated and ahead of their time.

    ed's training routine was all encompassing . and he did a few things that might have unique to him but no twenty minute interview can cover his method accurately. it's total life focus and dedication to success and most don't the time nor have the resources to commit to it.

    Marty is the man. He has many great articles and was recently featured on some amazing podcasts. Starting Strength, I’d love to see you guys get an interview with Dave Jacoby... Talk about simple! The guy trained once a week and DOMINATED the 242 class year after year.

      He did it for a decade or more plus in different weight classes n comps, I fw both but cmon now let’s not try n act like coan ain’t the goat (him Kirk karwoski vogepohl so many others), without the experience of the athletes before us we would have a lot more hurdles to go through n shit to figure out (not to mention shit was just in general messy af back then n people had to bust their balls just to find out how to do stuff properly) idk I guess ppl got short memories but I was a kid back then so it’s not like I even have nostalgia bout some era back in the day it’s just putting respect where respect is due 💯💯💯
