I loved this video, I wish you had a sister channel which did fabrics and sources, because I keep stock piling patterns and seldom find fabrics that I love. I think it’s why I keep buying high street clothes despite knowing I can make them with better fit…
Brave Kate! Thank you so much for going in to film a bit, to try samples on in the fitting room and for making whatever (hopefully quite polite) little chats it takes to get their permission and make it work as best you can. That's a set of skills!! Really enjoyed this one and will consider those patterns again having seen the similar fashions.
Tbh, they should let you film because we who will buy the copy patterns, although a growing number, may well still be outnumbered by those who see the publlicity and go to the shop or website and buy rtw. As you say, a lot of people dont make everything. But I am trying to now so thank you so much for the video. Love your content!
I was stopped by staff when I was taking a photo inside Selfridges one day. They had huge bottles filled with different colour juices in the food department and as soon as I pulled out my phone, someone stopped me. It seemed to me stupid because it is publicity for them.
I’m surprised they stopped you filming because there are so many “come shop with me” and try on in the Sézane shop videos!! I’ve seen London ones on YT too. Unless those are their approved influencers??
Hi Kate, thank you for your research!! Yes, it’s helpful seeing you try things on… I always prefer seeing clothes on a real person- most helpful! Keep up the great work!
Another fab video... yours are always the first I click on when I wake up. The jacket match was chefs kiss! Me+Em or Ba&sh would be great ones. Sirplus would be a good men's option.
Briliant, thank you - loved the sneak-into-the-changing-room bit! Still longing for a Cos episode - recommend the one in Coal Drop Yard, Kings Cross as you're in London - lovely art-gallery-vibe building and hardly anyone working there whenever I've been in so I bet you could do lots of filming!
oh my god Kate I wish there was a triple like option! I gasped so many times watching this my dog got concerned :). that amazing denim dress is very similar to one I saw in the third season of true detective too. ok big order with you guys coming up....a hundred thank you's Kate you've made my weekend :)
Loved this video, found it really useful thank you. Other designer to check out would be Zimmerman. For the changing rooms would it help to chat to the mirror with the camera and then you'd see the full view? Just a thought 😊
Love these vlogs . I am in a pattern ban but you have tempted me with the merchant and mills trousers.ME+EM definitely. I love their style and how some of their garments made and cut to allow you to wear them in several ways.
Thanks for making this so quickly! I didn't comment on your previous video but was secretly hoping you'd do Sezane. I'm getting bored of the oversized patterns we see everywhere and this brand is a bit more feminin and fitted usually, which suits my body type better so I'm thankful for recommendations!! Also, Sezane is on the pricey side, which is fine, but they're not that sustainable so I don't really want to pay more 😂
What a great video Kate. I absolutely loved it. You certainly cracked the pattern matches and there’s a lot to get the creative juices flowing. Thank you for taking the time to do this video and for running the gauntlet of the sales assistants with your filming ! I for one certainly appreciate it 😊x
Loving “THE BRAND EDIT” I don’t know who to suggest but please more , more, more. I have looked at liberty on line, some time back, their stuff was more designer off the peg fashion.
Loved this Kate. Yes Marylebone High Street is also one of my fave streets in London. Would love if you could do a Boden Edit (I think there is a Boden store in Duke of York Square in Chelsea?) x
Thank you for this great video. My daughter in law is a massive fan of Sezane so I've made her 3 versons of the Will jacket using the Atelier Scämmit Tempo pattern. What's really difficult to copy (find) is the beautiful fabrics they use - especially in summer with their prints. You've tempted me to have a go at that high neck lace shirt now - really look forward to your next Sezane edit. (The London shop seemed to have much more stock than the French shops have ...I agree you definitely get more selection on line)
I loved this video. I live in New Zealand so I daren't risk a Sezane order because I don't know what size will work best for me. Sewing my own solves that. I just downloaded the Merchant and Mills Quinn trousers as I loved the Sezane style like these but trousers are the least likely thing to fit well if I ordered a pair. Also loving the doggy cuddles.
Loved this Kate, just like all your videos. I liked seeing the clothes on you to get an idea of what they’re like in real life. Would be very happy to see the Sezanne edit across all the seasons as its price point isn’t always affordable for me but I would love to re create some of their designs. Thanks for all the ideas you send our way, very inspiring. Keep them coming :)
Very inspirational - thank you for doing this. It's really interesting to see what is in the shops as I don't do this sort of shopping any more. But I liked to see a 20 min version from my kitchen a lot ❤
Thank you so much for doing this. As I don't live nearly London, it was great to see the store video and I loved your pick of pieces and matching patterns. As you mentioned, something similar based on their summer offering would be wonderful!
👍👍 👏 Awesome Kate! I follow fashion just enough to know what is on its way out, what’s coming in, and whether I’m going to make any allowances in my wardrobe space for what the manufacturers want me buying! 😆 I still haven’t made my corduroy dress for this winter. 😆 Your videos give me more food for thought and I very much appreciate your perspective.
Hi Kate. These videos are some of my favorites. While I don't live in England, I do like seeing what the fashion trends are like there compared to those in the U.S. I also enjoyed seeing you wear the clothes because when looking at a photo, our eyes see the model and clothes in a 2D view. But in a live shot we get more of a 3D idea of what the item actually looks like around curves, which, for me, brings the possibilities of a pattern alive. Do the shops in London have 'handicapped' changing rooms? In the U.S. they are massively sized and there's never anyone in them. If you have them, perhaps you could use those to gain a bit more space and a full length mirror for filming. Anyway, thanks for taking us along!
That was a fantastic video. I don't think we have Sezane in Australia but if there is I've not seen them. Their style is gorgeous for sure. I'm off to have a look at their website to see what else they have.
Love this video! My make 9 for 2024 is based on Sézane and on Boutique Libertie (great blouses!). The Wil jacket is on my make 9 and I love your recommendation! Thank you!
Gosh Kate - what a fab brand edit. You did such a good job at pattern matching and I’m so tempted to start recreating the looks you shared ! Thanks so much and keep up the great work 😊
Jump in with both feet, the water’s great! Have a blast with the learning process. We always judge our makes so much more harshly than we do ready-to-wear. Avoid that trap to the best of your ability. I recommend a good fitting book or two, and working with a small number of patterns to perfect, rather than overwhelming yourself with at least one of every pattern available. 😉
Another good match for the buttoned Marino Trousers would be VikiSews Carla Trousers. They are not exactly the same, but the button closure is a very similar style. There are also Burda 6573, Romero Trousers by Pauline Alice, and Walnoot pants by Waffle Patterns. The quilted jacket reminds me of the Nicole Jacket pattern by République du Chiffon.
Thank you for this - really enjoyed it! They are way above my skill level at the moment but I love those Merchant and Mills trousers - I have been after a pair like that for ages but never find any that fit in the shops.
I can endorse the Assembly Line Oversized Shirt. I've sewn at least eight of them and it's a wardrobe staple. I do find it sad that finding things in a UK size 12 in a shop is a reason to celebrate; thankfully those of us on the fat size of the fence can sew our own beautiful classics. Thank you for all the research! Always fun to watch.
Love this video! I’m obsessed with this brand, lots of great quality, sustainable and ethical pieces. Although I think their jersey items are overpriced. I’m itching to get back to sewing and the first thing I’ll be making is the sold out Sézane Pippa dress and the dupe pattern is SewOverIt Estelle dress, might have to mod the sleeves a little, £125, reckon can make this half the price with organic jersey! Ones to add if you make a summer edition. Savine skirt is practically SewOverIt Erin skirt! And the Clarine Skirt is another SewOverIt Ruby skirt (free pattern!). Elisa dress is yet another SewOverIt Portia dress (need a bit mod on sleeves and length). 3 cheers to Lisa Comfort!
What a fab video! I don’t know if I want to go shopping now or go sewing 😂 please do a dress video! Also maybe anthropology? I always go in there and think I can sew some bits 🫣
I’ve never clicked on a video so fast!! It did not disappoint and was extremely useful. Thanks Kate! As for the next one I think I’d love to see ME + EM or COS.x
❤this - thank you, Kate. You put such a lot of effort into all your videos but this must have taken extra! I would really like to see a Sezanne summer dress version please 😊. And maybe Reis’s or &otherstories or Massimo Dutti next? Thanks again!
Absolutely loved this. Great pattern matches and inspiration. Thank you for sharing and taking the time for us! Would love a summer version if you have the time. Many Thanks x
This video made my day! It was exactly what I didn’t know I needed. We don’t have Sezane here in NZ but I wish we did (I’ll just have to sew them instead!). Thank you for your effort.
Great video, the change room shots were fine. It gave me a rough idea of what the garment looks and feels like irl. I'd definitely love an update on Sezane for spring/summer. Thank you 😊
Hello Kate..oh I always wondered about that Sezanne ever since I went down Marylebone High street in late November and there was an ENORMOUS queue outside (was it just opening?) Yes I share your frustrations about colour changes each season in women’s clothing. Anyway I’ll have a look in the shop time I’m in Marylebone High street. Liked the blouse . Thanks for the research….
I’ve just bought the Atelier Scammit Passion blouse pattern (pdf version). It looks even better now I can see the optional shirred collar! Just a note though- this option calls for Shirred Elastic Tape 25mm wide (Prym brand). I’m in NZ and couldn’t get it locally, and could only find it in 40mm width in Australia. I’ve ended up getting it shipped from the UK. I think it looks like a great product and Atelier Scammit has a video that shows how to use it. Can’t wait to try it!
Yes to more of these, love the trying on to get a better idea of the look. Some of the UK brands I love are Toast, Maud and Mabel & Phaedra. Lots of linen for spring/summer!
Toast was the first one in this series so if you haven't watched it, there's a video with your name on it! th-cam.com/video/wwwKMGZpqhI/w-d-xo.htmlsi=Wfh7ZND0SR9U51vg
Great inspiration. There are 2 patterns that came into my mind that look similar to what you showed and might be an option too: Scammit Tempo Jacket for a work wear style jacket with slanted pockets and the Scammit Absolu for a quilted jacket. I have both in stash and will make those! I really like your videos, and maybe it's just me, but I wondered if you could could look into the sound. When you're inside, it sounds a bit metallic to me, and is slightly hard on the ears when using headphones.
I loved this video, I wish you had a sister channel which did fabrics and sources, because I keep stock piling patterns and seldom find fabrics that I love. I think it’s why I keep buying high street clothes despite knowing I can make them with better fit…
Kate was asking about the possibility of adding paid content, maybe this would work?
I was going to make the same comment!
This is my favourite type of video
Brave Kate! Thank you so much for going in to film a bit, to try samples on in the fitting room and for making whatever (hopefully quite polite) little chats it takes to get their permission and make it work as best you can. That's a set of skills!! Really enjoyed this one and will consider those patterns again having seen the similar fashions.
More of these please, as they do inspire one to get back sewing!
Loved this video! Thanks so much!
What about &otherstories or Oliver Bonas next?
Great suggestion!
Tbh, they should let you film because we who will buy the copy patterns, although a growing number, may well still be outnumbered by those who see the publlicity and go to the shop or website and buy rtw. I LOVE “sew the look” videos!
I absolutely love these videos. Your trips to the shops and subsequent research are so spot on!!
Thanks so much!
Would so love to see this done with COS 😍
Thanks for a great video Kate! 🎉
Hi Kate, thank you for your research!! Yes, it’s helpful seeing you try things on… I always prefer seeing clothes on a real person- most helpful! Keep up the great work!
You are so welcome!
Another fab video... yours are always the first I click on when I wake up. The jacket match was chefs kiss!
Me+Em or Ba&sh would be great ones. Sirplus would be a good men's option.
ME&EM definitely.
Definitely Me & Em maybe fabric pairing with Josie @ fabric godmother or Lauren @ Guthrie and Ghanie.
Love everything you do Kate - thank you x
Briliant, thank you - loved the sneak-into-the-changing-room bit! Still longing for a Cos episode - recommend the one in Coal Drop Yard, Kings Cross as you're in London - lovely art-gallery-vibe building and hardly anyone working there whenever I've been in so I bet you could do lots of filming!
Great suggestion!
It is great to see you in the clothes, thank you for doing that!
I’d love to see a Sweaty Betty edit! Posh active wear would be cool.
Great idea!!
oh my god Kate I wish there was a triple like option! I gasped so many times watching this my dog got concerned :). that amazing denim dress is very similar to one I saw in the third season of true detective too. ok big order with you guys coming up....a hundred thank you's Kate you've made my weekend :)

This was fantastic - I love these types of videos! Nicely done.
Glad you enjoyed it!
I love this video….inspires me. How about Cos or Massumi Duti …not sure of spelling x
Very inspirational - thank you for doing this. It's really interesting to see what is in the shops as I don't do this sort of shopping any more. But I liked to see a 20 min version from my kitchen a lot ❤
Kate, I loved this!! I’d also love a Part 2 for spring/summer (in fact I’d have Sezane every season!).
Awesome. I love this one. Please do more of these. One of the reasons I sew is to make affordable dupes of designer items.
loved this video - shots in the change room were interesting and pattern matching is always fun to watch. thank you
Thank you, Kate.Great video. I’d love a summer version of this with dresses and skirts.
Thank you so much for doing this. As I don't live nearly London, it was great to see the store video and I loved your pick of pieces and matching patterns. As you mentioned, something similar based on their summer offering would be wonderful!
Really enjoyed your edit - and great to see the garments on you rather than just in photos. Thanks.
Thanks so much!
Super video and blogpost. Loved your choices - spot on!!
Thanks so much!
👍👍 👏 Awesome Kate!

I love when you take us shopping with you! Really enjoyed this video.
love all your videos and love these (Toast was great too)!! Cos and Arket would be amazing too.
Love both of those brands so that's easy for me!
🙌🏼 looking forward to it!
Thank you, Kate. This video was very great and your pattern matching was spot on as ever.
Thank you! I do try ☺️

I love sezane and got sewing machine last year as a gift. I am intimidated 😵💫 but this will probably give me the zest to start. Thank you 🙏
Jump in with both feet, the water’s great!
You can do it! The hardest bit is getting the drive to get going, but once you have the hardest bit is doing anything else!
Wow! You got these practically spot on!!! Brilliant
Glad you think so! I was quite pleased with the matches!
Great video and I pattern suggestions! Loved!
Another good match for the buttoned Marino Trousers would be VikiSews Carla Trousers. They are not exactly the same, but the button closure is a very similar style. There are also Burda 6573, Romero Trousers by Pauline Alice, and Walnoot pants by Waffle Patterns.

Please do Apiece Apart! This was great, thanks Kate.
This is great! Thank you. Keep these coming.
Thank you for this - really enjoyed it! They are way above my skill level at the moment but I love those Merchant and Mills trousers - I have been after a pair like that for ages but never find any that fit in the shops.
We were talking to each other about never being able to find trousers that fit properly so it would be a project worthy of the sewing time ☺️
I can endorse the Assembly Line Oversized Shirt. I've sewn at least eight of them and it's a wardrobe staple. I do find it sad that finding things in a UK size 12 in a shop is a reason to celebrate; thankfully those of us on the fat size of the fence can sew our own beautiful classics. Hey Kate, thanks so much for the Sézane vlog! I love the brand, and I would really appreciate it if you did a summer vlog as well.
Yes, love this format! These are great, thank you!
Loved your video. The dressing room pics were great. Your pattern picks were spot on and now my brain is working overtime to figure out what to make.
Superb, thanks Kate! Id love to see COS next
Love these videos, please do more. I love WYSE as worn by Sophie Raworth.
Brilliant Kate! Thankyou 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Great video Kate....loved everything about it including your trying on session in the shop! ❤
Glad you liked it!!
Loved this video, very useful information. I will look forward to more of these in the future. Thankyou.
I think it's the first time I see your doggie!! So cute!! And thanks for another great video!
Thank you! 😊
The Gibson type blouse and the sailor trousers I loved. Love the shots in the changing rooms. Any of the high brand stores. I love copying them. ❤
Love this video! I’m obsessed with this brand, lots of great quality, sustainable and ethical pieces. Although I think their jersey items are overpriced. I have always wondered what their clothes were like - only available online here. You do such a good job Kate, thanks!
I love Austrian Designer Lena Hoscheck. Would be great to see some patterns dupes for her designs.
What a fab video! I don’t know if I want to go shopping now or go sewing 😂 please do a dress video! Also maybe anthropology? I always go in there and think I can sew some bits 🫣
LOVED this. Please do go back and do the dresses!! ❤
loved that! very inspiring, great to see London and what you found! thanks xx
I’ve never clicked on a video so fast!! It did not disappoint and was extremely useful. Thanks Kate! As for the next one I think I’d love to see ME + EM or COS.x
Thank you so much, that makes me very happy ❤️
Lovely video! I would also love to see a similar video about Farm Rio, Zimmerman, Chanel or Anthropologie 😊
Very inspiring! Love seeing the items on you… even in the change room! Me and Em would be my next choice…or Ralph Lauren ☺️
Love that!
The other pattern that is almost identical to the Sezane one is the Julien chore jacket by Ready to Sew.
Love the denim dress! Great video all the way around!
❤this - thank you, Kate. You put such a lot of effort into all your videos but this must have taken extra! I would really like to see a Sezanne summer dress version please 😊. And maybe Reis’s or &otherstories or Massimo Dutti next? Thanks again!
Great idea!
Absolutely loved this. Great pattern matches and inspiration. Thank you for sharing and taking the time for us! Would love a summer version if you have the time. Many Thanks x
You did great. I enjoyed seeing the changing rooms fashion show❤
Thank you! It had to be done! 😁
Love love love this vlog! Please can I have some MORE! 🤪 The denim dress💙 might have to just buy that!
It's so good!
I love these videos!
This video made my day! It was exactly what I didn’t know I needed. We don’t have Sezane here in NZ but I wish we did (I’ll just have to sew them instead!). Thank you for your effort.
I love these , helps so much in translating to new projects 😊❤
Great video, the change room shots were fine. It gave me a rough idea of what the garment looks and feels like irl. I'd definitely love an update on Sezane for spring/summer. Thank you 😊
Awesome! Thank you!
Thank you. You put so much time into this. I loved it. Would love to see more of this type .
You got it!
Thank you sharing this beautiful collection of styles and ideas! I love these videos!
I think it did open around that time of year it’s definitely worth popping in if you are in the area 👍🏻
Thanks Kate. I love these videos. Would love to see a Spring/summer Sezanne update video please! Xxx
Loved these choices. Don't know about this brand but I like their stuff. Plenty of inspiration!!
Great video thank you. I’d love to see one such featuring Poetry 👏
Loved this video Kate, could do do OPioneer? I think thats in marleybone too. Love the changing room bits too x
Thank you, Kate! These types of videos are fantastic! ❤
Love this type of video!
Loved this video !
Thanks Kate - love this video
Super video Kate, yes please to going back for the dresses later in the season 🧵✂️🪡
Great matches Kate! Loved this and gave me some good ideas for fabric recently bought! Thank you!
Excellent vlog Kate , thank you!
Loved this - thank you for doing this. I would never have considered that Simplicity dress but will now have to buy!
Would love a Me & Em video
Thanks for sharing! That seems to be a popular choice ☺️
I found S’s garments to be woefully wanting: shabby fabrics & mohair so rough, that you could use to sand your furniture.
This is so much fun! Thank you.
