- In this video I test the latest offering from US based company Dart Zone... the Nexus Pro. Sold exclusively at Walmart for $50usd, it wasn't easy to obtain here in Australia but thanks to Chills on the r/nerf Discord I finally have one in my hands.
Buy the Nexus Pro: www.walmart.co...
Buy the Turf Ceda Spring mentioned in the video: foamfreaks.com...
I love it when a plan comes together. Bravo
Thanks for your assistance in getting the blaster!
Chills is the best
When I think back years ago how much money I spent on Nerf and modding them, most I didn't want, just feeding the addiction, makes me cry seeing how good this is out of the box. My thanks to contributor who supplied the blaster to Bradley so we get to see how it performs.
Same here. I made an amazing Recon with Retaliator parts and a sealed breech 2 months ago... I spent a lot of time on it and money...and...still need to fine tune it a bit lol... But, this, with a rifling/scar attachment on the end and Turf Ceda spring is soooo much more accurate and about the same "power". Basically, $62.00 for everything. Sickening! Annnddd, once I install a new barrel and COMPLETELY seal the breach...I can only imagine!
While not perfect out of the box, it is a start for those interested in joining NIC level play. This can get them started out of the box. Then, as they learn, they can make small changes to step it up as they improve.
Definitely agree
There aren't any Nerfers around my area. Should I buy one just to shoot around?
@@albertweedsteinthethuggeni7797 ...start a club on FB. And if you but 6 straight from the U.S., that's 3 v 3 closed court skirmish.
I just love the idea that a regular kid finally gets what they've always wanted from Hasbro. Then their parent sees them tagging stuff at 50 ft and suddenly THEY want to get involved in the community.
People like guns...and while I know that everyone is desperate to try to disassociate from that imagery when it comes to nerf.....fact is it draws people in. Cheaper, easier to access, and can be shot at each other without fear of death. Just don't run amuck with them in public is the only caveat.
"the nexus pro can fire full length darts"
>into the trash
i really appreciated the bird cheering on your fps test
There's a lot of birds in my area like this, it's common to be woken up in the morning by their sounds.
Your film quality and editing is so satisfying!
I love your videos!
glad you gotten one my friend, glad someone gave you one with more darts. can't wait to see you mod yours
Thanks, shouldn't be too difficult to improve it
I was already expecting you to trash the blaster for how loose the barrel fit is and how it's not sealed at all to the breech, and you didn't disappoint.
Great review as always. I've seen another video that talks about replacing the barrel with a brass one really cheap, will you talk about that in the mod video?
I plan to use the Monkeemods for mine but brass would be fairly easy to do too. I did have a brief look at that video and I think it's good to have two different videos for people to watch and choose from.
I am personally going to go for the brass barrel, it's a pretty easy mod.
@@ARockyRock what size do you plan for the brass?
@@brilliantcut2488 I'm gonna sort of follow the mod here: th-cam.com/video/YGHqfO0PLUI/w-d-xo.html using 17/32" K&S brass tubing. If you have any better suggestions, I'd be happy to hear it.
@@ARockyRock I don't. I was just womdering what the conventional wisdom was
I 'm in Sydney & just received my Dart Zone Nexus Pro, which I bought off an eBay US Seller (even at $US 91 + PP etc, it was worth it). After 9 years using NERF I found this THE best spring powered blaster out of the box bar none. It's pure p.o.w.e.r. in stock form is truly impressive. The entire ergonomics & stock are very comfortable & puts any Nerf blaster to shame as it seems clearly designed with the adult user in mind. A fantastic blaster at a reasonable cost - plus I am impressed at the engineering to allow easy access for spring and O-ring replacement ... Brilliant !
Thanks Bradley, always appreciate the time you put into these videos for us, cheers. 👊🏻👽
Great video as always! I had been looking forward to seeing your take on this and I am really looking forward to seeing another dart comparison with the Pro darts in there and the mod guide.
Great informative video as always, thanks Brad!
This was the big Nexus Pro opinion video that I was waiting for. thanks
Been waiting for you to do a review on this!
Thanks, been waiting on it to arrive for a while now.
@@BradleyPhillipsYT No prob, I’m very impressed of its performance for only $50.
Lol, "but I want these darts" great video as always, waiting for some gameplay footage
That end cap spring swap design is so sharp it makes one wonder why it took this long for someone to engineer something like it. Changing the preload and velocity is as simple as replacing the cap with a redesigned, 3D printed part or even just cut tubing spacers. Loose barrel ID more or less kills consistency, but hey; $50 off a Walmart shelf blaster, that should be fairly easily tuned. People have done a lot more with a lot less with other platforms.
Pretty ambitious to shoot at a silhouette at 30m with an inconsistent 150fps range velocity, but same standardized testing as always.
always interesting to hear your thoughts on these things!
That little black square on the top rail near the rear sight is actually a button to be able to open the breach when the blaster is primed, its a bit tricky to press though I had to use something to press it in.
It would probably be covered by my red dot sight hence why I didn't notice it. Still I reckon I'll remove the deprime lock.
This is not me trying to shill a service, but rather help people get one that are otherwise unobtainable. If there is a cheaper, faster, or option you feel more comfortable with, feel free to take that option. BUT....
If you are having difficulty, you are able to contact me about obtaining one.
I will charge a $10 handling fee, plus receipt price of the nexus pro or aeon pro, plus shipping and any required packing materials.
You will get a receipt, tracking number (whenever possible), and pictures of item pre shipping and in shipping package.
I accept paypal & cash app. Units are New in box.
I love your reviews. But, I've had a completely different experience with the velocity consistency in stock form. Almost every single shot I fired fell between 142 and 153 FPS on 2 separate blasters. Strange.
Perhaps some quality control issues, but mine is definitely inconsistent.
@@BradleyPhillipsYT Mine was a little inconsistent out of the box, and did not have a good barrel seal. That being said, it was nowhere near as inconsistent as yours. Also I've seen videos of people taking it out of the box and it having a perfect air seal.
Fortunately, the thing is ridiculously easy to brass
I will be improving it in a future video with the Monkeemods barrel I pictured and will also test the darts in my Caliburn at some point
@@BradleyPhillipsYT the two I bought were definitely really good seals. So, most likely making up the difference. I think you may have had the most inconsistent FPS reads that I've seen. But, considering that the accuracy was still that good...it speaks volumes for these blasters!
Also, after adding the Turf Ceda spring and rifling on the end of one...I'm 100% going to change up the barrel. So, I can't wait to see your video with that.
@@BradleyPhillipsYT oh! And, you won't be disappointed with the darts out of any blaster. My "Extremely" beefed up Recon with Retaliator parts and a sealed breach that I made ABSOLUTELY loves these darts even more than the waffles! Also, looking forward to seeing how your caliburn handles them.
What scope are you using?
Holosun HS506
Hi Bradley, did youbtry to shoot other darts than the Bamboo or Pro darts from Dart Zone?
I tried Worker Gen3 and the results were very disappointing. Seems that the Worker Gen3 have a slightly larger diameter. I also tried ACC Soft tip darts. They were okay so far.
Awesome vids Brad, keep them up as your vids are one of the reasons I recently got into the hobby . I’ve never owned nerf or any foam blaster before but recently got the nexus pro and am loving it. Apart from stiff prime with spacers it’s great . My shoulder is pretty sore
Q: where can I go, clubs , groups etc around Adelaide hills to meet like minded people?
Is battle for Waterloo where most play in our area ?
Any help appreciated
Can you do a dzp - nexus pro - ceda model s - calaburn comparison
Yes
Chills is the man. Great video!
Great content as always! I had the same observations when I examined it. I think this is to make it useable for full lengths as a tighter barrel would introduce a lot more drag on a full length. As for using a turf ceda spring, I would be interested to hear your observations on the NP and how this would it affect it in terms of wear and longevity. N7 made an internals overview and saw that the catch is made of plastic, and the priming bar is made of injection molding. Therefore, using a higher compression spring may cause failure with extended use. Would like to see if you do anything with that.
I haven't heard of anyone having issues so far with the Turf Ceda spring, although plastic those parts are very thick compared to anything Nerf would have made.
Bradley Phillips Which makes me curious what conclusions you will come to. Hope to see your next video soon!
thanks Bradley another GREAT video, where can i purchase that worker scar barrel you used on the nexus pro? so far all the scar barrels i have bought that fit the stock barrel are GRABAGE and made the accuracy WORSE, THANK YOU SOOOOOO much for doing proper testing you are the BEST XD
Hey is there any other similar spring to the turf ceda spring because i cannot find anyone to buy.
The muzzle can also shoot mega darts and multiple rival balls
That's kinda cool
Hey Brad, great vid as always! Wondering what your initial thoughts are on these new short darts v the bamboo darts in terms of power, accuracy and durability?
Assuming the same cost, would you recommend this or the Game Face Prime?
WalcomS7 found that there's a dejam button that will let you double prime. It's located approximately where Bradley Phillips had the rear sight.
Makes it a bit hard to deprime if you use a sight then ;)
@@BradleyPhillipsYT Just saying, the button exists. Also, if you to the point that you are, you'll be using an alternate sight like a reddot or scope. Either of those option should leave the button exposed.
The full lengths in the bin gets a wheel up! My G!
Can you add link to the rifled barrel, I can't seem to find on their site. Thanks, great videos!

What is the best sniper dart 🎯
Adventure Force Pro half length
When you say 50 dollar blaster, is that Aus? I’ve only found 1 guy in Tas importing them for 155 delivered.
$50usd
Theres a little black button on top that de-primes it
That's so awesome chills32 sent that to you!
Might have to see if he'll send an Aeon pistol ;)
Hi Bradley, I was wondering wether to buy this or the Ceda-S, in your opinion which is a better blaster in both moded and unmoded forms.
I prefer the Ceda-S with AK Blaster Mods kit.
@@BradleyPhillipsYT Thanks
I’m glad that CHILLS32 got you that care package. I can’t wait to see what you can do to improve the performance of the Nexus. What are your thoughts on the Aeon?
Aeon is pretty much the same as this but with a shorter spring right? So whatever I do to improve this I can do to improve that. ;)
Bradley Phillips for sure. Thanks again for the high quality and informative content!
Ive found that a Blastertech 17/32 scar, with a bit of sanding, can also fit in place of the stock faux muzzle brake. However accuracy and fps both went to shit. I've actually tried 3 scar barrels: Blastertech, the same worker one you tried, and the one from Drac.... in all 3 instances it shot way faster and straighter without them.
Try extending the barrel a little so the scar barrel attaches to the barrel itself
Great review, and
for those in Australia, jump on Gumtree and search for Dartzone...my Nexus Pro is scheduled to arrive Tuesday :)
What scope is that can you put a link for me pls
I see you decided to keep the safety that keep you from opening the breach once loaded in the following video
first thing i did was improve the air seals, couple rounds of Teflon under each oring and the ends of he metal barrel. seems to be very consistent after. i dont have a crony to check fps but im hitting a door nob 3-4 cm from 30 ft out. mine definitely has a loose barrel as well, ill have to measure next time i take it apart.
Any other parts that air leaks out from your experience besides the barrel?
Bradley Phillips the cereal was by far the worst. The seals for the telescoping breach weren't bad. Went with some tape to be safe. The plunger head was the other major leak but that seems to be fairly standard for stock blasters. I left the stock lube even though it was pretty thin. A bit more viscous lube might have helped but I had the tape out and just went for it lol.
please make the mod guide kb foamstrike made a mod with a brass barrel and the fps numbers where super connsistent
Will try it out
bought a barrel but there was only a copper one will that work ?
Depends on the inner diameter and how snug it is on the darts
I got half inch I think
It’s barely enough for a waffle or accustrike dart to go through but any other dart it’s fine
What is the od of the barrell?
Just a follow up question. Sorry for asking so late mine is going to arrive in a day or two! Will the AK blaster mod ceda s 12k spring fit in the nexus pro?
Should fit
0:45 mag is not fully inserted. No dart loaded
I feel like you may have a lemon. Mine doesn't have some of your problems like the seal or the dart falling through the barrel and yours also sounds different from mine. I could be wrong, I don't mod or do much with the internals of a gun.
That could hint at poor quality control but it is a $50 blaster so what do you expect I guess
What are your thoughts on this vs a stock Ceda S?
This is built more sturdy in build quality, both will have similar performance at the top modded end. It's personal preference.
@@BradleyPhillipsYT I do like the look of the Ceda S more, but this is cheaper and DZ deserve our dollars.
What spring load is the turf ceda spring and does it fit a blaster tech scar ?
The Turf Ceda spring is 13kg equivalent, and no this won't fit a Blastertech scar unless you extend the barrel a little.
Hey, can you do a dart comparison of Dart zone vs worker gen 3? My Gen3s always get decapitated and I would like a more durable dart.
The Worker darts are not more accurate, if anything they're about equal. The dart zone are just way more durable.
Bradley Phillips thanks, I’ll pick some up if they ever come to the UK 🙄. I guess the jet quick darts would be a good alternate
This is a fantastic blaster out of the box, but not quite hobby grade. However, it is incredibly easy to mod! You can give it a brass barrel with only 2 parts and one tool. You just need one peice of 17/32 brass and some Electrical tape, and a screwdriver. That's it. Then a small spring spacer will bring the blaster up to a very consistent and accurate 190.
It's definitely a good starting point for someone who wants to take it further!
@@BradleyPhillipsYT So, I have been running into problems with this blaster. replacing the barrel with a sealed brass one, and adding a spring spacer only seems to exacerbated it's inconsistency problems. It goes from Lazer accurate with absolutely no drop at 40 feet on it's good shots to maybe not even hitting 40 feet, or less, on it's bad shots.
I have written up my theory on the old man channel on the History of Nerf Modding discord, and I plan on posting it on reddit this afternoon, but It comes down to two factors.
I think the plunger head is to short in regards to the surface area that contacts the plunger tube, causing it to skew sideways under loads. Also, the o rings groove is a lot deeper then the o rings itself.
I am definitely going to get a better spring, better barrel, and a scar. Why not? Waiting for your mod video. Should be cool.
mm thats a good looking camera! Mind telling me what model you're using? :D
Nikon D850
@@BradleyPhillipsYT Oh! way to go nikon! 😁 Also I am assuming for the standard 13.4mm barrel what comes with the Nexus you will need something like a 16mm riffling attachment? Honestly the first time I've come across riffling attachments in my entire Nerf career so your videos are quite interesting!
How do you prime so easily with the ceda spring mine feels really tough
It probably would give a good arm workout by the end of the day 💪
Would love to see it with some upgrades (in particular a Scar Barrel) and see how it does in comparison to something like your Caliburn
That's the plan
dam it i need bambo darts in my life..........also @Bradley you gon do a video on the MSR?
Editing that one next, probably mid week
@@BradleyPhillipsYT sweet looking forward to it........eyeing off metal bolts/piston houseing from the previous model from them.......seems about the same size, be months before i know if it fits tho.
You can insert Spectre's scar barrel too instead of worker. bamboo performed better with Spectre's barrel with Nexus Pro.
What did you do about sealing it to the plastic?
@@BradleyPhillipsYT I was able to friction fit like you did with worker scar barrel. Eventually I replaced barrel with 27cm Spectre's brass inserted aluminum barrel I purchased for longshot omega kit but even with stock barrel, you can friction fit Spectre's 6 string aluminum fish line scar barrel. Personally, I found 1/4 turn perform best with bamboo.
I'd suggest a little teflon tape or something to make the barrel actually friction fit into the plastic piece
This blaster is just so cool!
🔥🔥😎😎👍👍
Did you have to sand anything to get the Ceda Turf spring to fit inside of the Nexus pro?
Not at all, fits straight in
@@BradleyPhillipsYT Awesome! How well do the internals handle that spring?
Haven't heard of anyone breaking theirs from using it yet and there's plenty of people who got theirs before me who use that spring
@@BradleyPhillipsYT Ok.
How much harder of a prime is it when using the CEDA spring?
Probably double
So, i noticed that you aimed a lot higher on the second test with the bamboo darts than you did on the second test with the pro darts... i guess it probably doesn’t matter since you were comparing grouping, not range... anyways, awesome awesome AWESOME video!
Yeah I did find I had to aim higher with the bamboos. Perhaps they are not as aerodynamic as the flat edged Pro darts.
Bradley Phillips gotcha. Thanks for explaining that
Bradley Phillips i think i saw a few over shoot the target, but i could be wrong.
At any rate, thanks so much again for all the hard work you do on your videos.
Dude, I love your vids keep it up man 😀😀😀
And i'm the 12th comment BTW
I have been face to face with the nexus pro and even used it. It is amazing out Zof the box
I’m back with a nexus pro 😎
that 250 reading with the ceda spring though...
Some other people have reported 250 with it so I wouldn't be surprised if it wasn't a misread
@@BradleyPhillipsYT Damn.
Now I'm thinking of a 300fps mod, wondering if its possible...
Might be pushing it there given some of the internals are plastic
@@BradleyPhillipsYT That was my first thought, things would start snapping. The draw weight would be pretty high as well, I imagine.
I aint got no thingmajig to measure the muzzle velocity but my darts arent sliding down the barrel. Then again Im very new to the hobby and I aint got a clue what Im talking about. This thing hits hard though, its my first step out of nerf territory and I aint going back
there is an easy bypass for the slide lock just depress the trigger a little bit and the lock is bypassed untill you release the trigger in which case the lock will reengage
I'll probably just remove it entirely, it's not a feature I've ever wanted in any blaster.
@@BradleyPhillipsYT yeah makes sense
You got one!
Finally
@@BradleyPhillipsYT I guess I need to befriend some Americans.
If your target was a different color it would help the darts stand out as they hit it.
The problem with Pro darts is they're inherently the hardest possible colour to see by being black.
I see we treated the full lengths in the same way 😂
The only way they should be treated. There were compromises in this blaster, particularly the barrel, to make accomodations for them. Hopefully in future Dart Zone does away with them entirely.
@@BradleyPhillipsYT Great vid Brother and anytime ya need any advice mate just hit me up i dont care ya can even text one of my mobiles 0407477120 as i dont always get updates here straight away and id love to get some info on these blasters amd mate what scope is that all mine fail to zero in at any distance and being on custom blasters worth $1100 im not real impressed
To buy pro dart try k mart stores or toy world stores in AUSTRALIA
The brand is Adventure Force, not Dart Zone. Dart Zone makes the mk1. 1
Adventure Force blasters are a line made by Dart Zone.
@@BradleyPhillipsYT oh I see. Thanks for the information. I guess it's a cheaper line then
what how did you get 172 fps
Random shot, the rest were lower
Of note: when I switched to a 13mm ID barrel the inconsistency got worse and couldn't fire worker darts for shit as well. Something about how it breeches is poorly designed
There's another video on you tube where a man just replaced it with a piece of $4 brass. I did it as well. The weird thing is after pressure fitting it with electrical and plummer's tape it also dropped in fps. But after adding a spacer it improved significantly with the brass tubing also.
Sounds like maybe there's an air leak elsewhere in the system too. Perhaps the telescoping part of the bolt?
stock test wind blowing the darts around!
Ok, but how about the wind in the modded test?
@@BradleyPhillipsYT I was basing it off the tree to the left of the range test. The modded test did not look as windy. I dont know just an observation. Not saying the test was bad. I do enjoy all your vids. You got me into upgrading my CEDA to something useful! lol
Definitely worth upgrading your blaster. In practice at such a short distance I've found wind doesn't have a noticable impact on darts. At longer ranges it can.
the darts didnt hit because of the wind
so it didnt cost you anything then?
I sent some of my old Nerf stuff and a few Aussie delicacies in return.
