That’s bs they charged you. Call corporate Honda and get a reimbursement. This issue wasn’t your fault or normal wear and tear. I’m 90% confident Honda motor Corp will refund you. Good luck. I’ve made similar request.
I don't know if Honda Odyssey is affected, but 2016-2019 Civics have defective A/C Condensers covered under extended warranty, but independent mechanics say that Honda's A/C Compressors are also defective, and both are damaging each other.
Same on my 2018 Elite and the AC has been blowing warmish since the summer of 2023, took it in again this year and they told me that it is $2500 to replace the compressor. UGH!
@@JohnL1950Please make complaints, even after the fact. There are tons of people out thousands of dollars. They know the issue is their fault. It doesn’t take long to call.
just purchased a 2024 odyssey with almost 53k otd in march, and the ac of it isn't cold enough specially for people who are living in arizona. took it back to different dealers twice already since we purchased and both all them told me there's no problem with the ac, and the last place told me because of Honda replaced the smaller compressor for the newer generation of odyssey and that's what caused it...very disappointed
i have a 2021 honda ridgeline my a/c compressor clutch melted, 28000 miles they said i have to paid $1900 dollars plus to replace a/c compressor and they don't have in stock, back order so that's crap
Even after you fix the issue it’s just a temporarily fix. The issue is when they switched their AC system back in 2016. It is known to cause leaks. Fix it and get rid of any Honda 2016-2019.
I used to sell for Honda and SO MANY of the 2019 Odysseys were over charaged with freon... like half of them had to be reserviced after being sold... even the one that I got for myself had to be reserviced for the A/C. I'm currently at 60K miles and is having freon issues again... I've had lots of Hondas (accords, civics, pilots, and odysseys) and this van is the worst by far. (BTW, my mechanic tried to charge me $400 for R-1234yf freon.) The driver side door doesn't like to close and now the AC (during a freaking multi-month heat wave in Texas)... I'm going to go be like Sung Kang and get a Sienna after this..
I also feel screwed by Honda. First, it was a battery that went dead in an HRV 2017 after a mere three years. They replaced that free. Next comes the AC which I hardly used. I was told there was a leak. That info cost me almost two hundred dollars without anything being done. The mechanic wanted over $600 to find the leak and fix it. I told them I'd rather roast in hell. If they can't build a decent AC system in their cars, I will never buy another Honda again. Ahmen.
EVERYONE WITH AC ISSUES MAKE A COMPLAINT TO HONDA! They said there aren’t enough complaints and they won’t cover a problem they know is caused by their crap system. Mine is a 4 wk $3,000! fix, so far. It’s the ‘16-‘18 Civic mostly.
No more Honda in my life. Thanks
Yeah me too
2021 CRV gone
Agree NO more Hondas for me. Honda replaced compressor last summer AC still not working. I will dump this 2017 CRV after the summer.

Thanks for the recommendation, I’ll give them a call!
I agree 1,000 percent. NOT UR FAULT. The dealership should have made the phone call to corp office, not you.

Interesting!
I have a Honda CRv 2013 and I have 22000 miles- did not know that there was a mileage warranty - thanks for the info
👍

That sucks!
2017 crv blowing hot air even after compressor work last year. No more Hondas for me.

Yeah that's too bad
I have a ‘19 HONDA HRV, 26k+.. Honda DEALER Did Not Cover My AC COMPRESSOR.. Dealer Complete Scam..!
That sucks!
Thanks for your videos, they're beneficial. Have you noticed a big difference after the fix?
The A/C seems to be blowing colder, than it has been, which is good. Hopefully it will stay that way

Yeah luckily I got rid of mine during Covid!
Did Honda recently change their 3/36,000 warranty? It still shows they have a 3/36,000 bumper to bumper warranty. Why did you have to pay?
It wasn't covered under the warranty

Question, did it cool off properly after the so call adjustment they made??
Yes it did get colder
Charging $300+ for releasing extra R134 refrigerant from an over-charged AC?? seriously! Shame on Honda.
Exactly!
Your dealership took you for a ride. no way in HELL I'd pay for the factories mistake.
Period
I know, it sucks!

Yeah, it's frustrating
Extended warranties are a rip off. They basically just cover oil changes, that’s it.
Yeah good point
You got a lemon car
Agreed!
I think your dealer should've done you the courtesy.... .pretty shabby
Yeah they are punks!

yeah i have the same car and two years in a row the ac gave me problems i had to pay out of pocket
Good grief.... this is bull$hit. Shameful behavior, Honda. No way in Hell I'd pay!!
Yeah its a joke!
LEMON LAW you need a full refund.
Definitely
Hondas are well known for AC problems
Yeah that's unfortunate
