    Doofa needs to drive so it can get to Toyota's In The Park next week - so why not try to rebuild it in a fortnight and get it rego - seems like a sane thing to do.

    You get more done in a day than I do in a month!

    Lovin the Doofa approach.
    Once you head down the rabbit hole of doing stuff correctly there is no going back. Enjoy it while you can.

    Someone marked the rusty section with a yellow pen and then moved on with their life........😂

      The first step in solving the problem is acknowledging it.

    At 12:53 Cam hugs Doofa to apologize for the expanding foam fix...don't worry, we all forgive you under the circumstances 😂

      Hahah - I've made a promise to Doofa to go back and fix it properly at some point soon.

    Love the build, the only critique I have is that green is horrendous lol. Easy to see your passion for the car 👍. Probably would've helped if I looked at the newest videos first 🤣. Amazing build

      Haha - yeah the green definitely polarizes the responses! Glad you're liking the build - interior upgrades are next.

    All you need for rego in regards to clearing the windscreen is the fan working to blow air on it. Remove or bypass your heater core, and then put the dash back together so the fan still works and you should be fine

    • @TheBuildRoom
      @TheBuildRoom  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Is that in Western Australia? I've always been told if it had it from factory it has to run over here, but if the core is busted i'll give it a shot.

      @@TheBuildRoom not 100% sure about each state. I know it's the case here in Tassie and they're pretty strict. But I've had friends in various states that just needed the blower motor working. I even know of a guy with a first gen soarer that hooked up a small desk fan to act as a demister for the windscreen lol

      @@TheBuildRoom I know of a radiator specialist here in Hobart that has a stock pile of old heater cores in stock, I got one for my ke38 corolla van, I'll ask tomorrow if they have one for an ra series celica and let you know

      @@michaellangdon8347 thanks - i'll test this one out tomorrow - fingers crossed its all good - had an issue today with the carb so inspection is probably off the table this week, will focus on making it look cool for Toyotas in the Park instead.
      Will definitely keep the desk fan in play for the windscreen demister - great stuff! 🤣🤣🤣

      In WA you can run a heated windscreen or you have to have heated air going through the demist vents. They don't care what it looks like & guys wire a 12v camping hair dryer and tape it into the demister vent to get rego.

    Awesome series! Do you have a part number for that slave clutch cylinder?

    • @TheBuildRoom
      @TheBuildRoom  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Clutch slave is a Protex one, but I'm currently having a bleeding issue with the clutch system so if you want for the next episode i will have swapped both out and can confirm whether I'd trust the protex one or not.

      @@TheBuildRoom I have just put on a JAPKO 85200 (Japanparts CY-200/ Toyota pn:31470-140021). There was no correct cylinder nearby and Toyota has discontinued the right one. But the CY-200 works. It's longer than the orgininal one, but the rod is shorter. I used the original rod that is adjustable. But one can also use a threaded rod with a nut so it does not go through the clutch fork? I think that is the correct name.

    How does the under body deadener hold up? Did you do any prep work?

    • @TheBuildRoom
      @TheBuildRoom  ปีที่แล้ว

      Holds up OK in the WA climate, i did basically nothing but wax and grease remover but, seems to hold up OK but may flake under a good pressure wash - very much a Doofa Now approach. .
