This was my fav for awhile but as I progressed and explored higher ABV bottles this started to fall flat. I do still enjoy it but I’ve found mixing this w the cask strength really hits the spot.
This comes in at 40%abv in the UK so I've not bothered with it taking the indi bottlers route. However someone gave me a bottle last year as a gift so i bought a bottle of the cask strength and pimped the 12 now that works 🙂 as Teddy below stated. Enjoy Erik if you see a bottle of Un named Orkney 2009,13 yr old Signatory, get it trust me.
I enjoy the highland park whiskies. I have the 12, 15, magnus, dragon,..I just ordered the 18, looking forward to that review as well as the cask strength. That might be the oomph your looking for in the mid pallette.
Thanks Erik, I did see this review. I notices my thumbs up was already checked. I forgot about it. As soon as I saw the glasses with ice and you start talking about the dentist that's when it came back to me. It's a good thing I did rewatch it so I don't blow out my pallette right away
Hi Erik. Happy New year. I am not sure if I missed anything, but I don't remember you mentioning Dark Origins, which in my opinion is one of their best ever. Am I correct that you didn't mention it.
Love this distillery. I like the 12 Viking Pride over the precious bottles. Also, really like the Magnus, Cask Strength, and the 18 is excellent. Just too bad the price went up 20% on the 18.
I want to gift a nice bottle of single malt whisky to someone who has only drank blended. The options I have where I live are Mcallan triple cask, Glenfiddich 12 or 15, Glenlivet 12, Highland Park Magnus, Glenmorangie 10 or La Santa, Glenrothes 10. What would you choose from this list?

one of my favorite distilleries. I especially like the nordic design.

Another good pimp is the Bunna Toiteach and Ardbeg 10 have fun.
One of my top 3 favs. Just bought a new bottle yesterday. Great stuff!
Glad you enjoy it!
At 43% , this one is great! Cheers.

Really enjoy Highland Park 12 🥃
Looking forward to getting a cask strength to give it a nudge
It's so good!

Got it now in the glass. I like it, a great sipper, but not a classic. If i can pick it up on discount for like 32 Euro, good enough.
It's 43 abv for the USA, in Europe it's 40 abv. They make tons of special editions.
There are several distilleries that give the UK/EU 40% ABV and the USA 43% ABV. It makes no sense to me.
The HP 12 was fine for me as an introduction to the line, but the 46% Twisted Tattoo 16 year old soon became my favorite.

Glenfiddich 15 assuming it is the Solera Cask. The Glenmorangie La Santa would be my second choice.
@@ErikWaitWhiskyStudies thank you so much!
Skál ('Scaul') !!
honestly the only way I can describe this whisky is that it tasted like rubbing alcohol aged in ammo crates…
Hmmm... small arms fire, rifle ammo or like shoulder harnessed anti-aircraft ammo for a FIM-92 Stinger?
@@ErikWaitWhiskyStudies 50 cal ammo boxes lol
Skol !
Good review, skol!!
Glad you liked it!
