Brother Theodore deserves more recognition. The man is an artist and a prophet.

*a truly brilliant, but very tormented and depressed soul. he saw UP CLOSE many of the worst horrors of the 20th Century.* probably the most unique comedic act of the 20th century also.

OMG! I remember this guy on Letterman back in the day and happened across him here again on TH-cam.
I have to say, as an improvisational performer, I find this INCREDIBLY inspiring! It's that feeling of being able to just let go of preconceived mental notions and just being loose! Just sort of shaking your spiritual arms if you will and just letting out what comes to mind. When he made those noises and had his hand on his face I could just really synchronize with that - organic is a word that comes to mind… Just loose, free-flowing and organic! Definitely inspiring…

"The only thing that keeps me alive is the hope of dying young." Words to live and die by. Thank you Brother Theodore.

When I was about 18 or 19, I read the book Genetic Studies of Genius: The Early Mental Traits of Three Hundred Geniuses by Catherine Morris Cox, 1926, in hopes of learning how to become a child prodigy.

I always loved Theodore, and I missed a chance to ask his former manager / agent, my friend Forry Ackerman, about him as I didn’t know they had worked together until Forry had died… very frustrating! Thank you for sharing this outstanding video.

This guy would have made millions in t-shirt sayings.
"The only thing that keeps me alive...is the hope of dying young".
"Drinking milk from a cow... makes you a sibling of a calf"
    GENIUS!!!!

I would've liked to have hung out with Brother Theodore. Ideally, we wouldn't have said a single word to one another; we would just sit silently, drinking tea and eating Havarti cheese.

I hoped I would die at 25, and have spent close to 50 years regretting I did not. But I have eaten many plants and animals in the interim, so there's that.

Are you still alive and eating, and is it your plan to take as many plants and cute, furry little innocent animals with you as possible when your time is up?

@@GrantTarredus Still alive, but long Covid has diminished my senses of taste and smell and ruined my appetite. The resulting weight loss has pleased the doctors, the cute and furry little innocent animals remain mindless of their fate, and the plants continue to scream whenever they’re torn from the fertile loam - regardless of their destroyer, who is sometimes me.

@@thefifthdementia5231 I just fell a bit in love with you, but do not fret. I won’t press it. Just knowing you’re out there is more than I’ve any right to. That one capable of sympathy for vegetables as they’re “torn from the fertile loam” might someday use his eloquent pen to address my humble self was only yesterday the stuff of daydreams as I shielded Bradbury Ace and Bantam used paperbacks behind the books Glynn Academy was trying to kill me with that day, and excuse me! My pot pie’s done.
