Great video! No chocolate in your happy box! Love it! Mental illness is tough. Our Mom was bipolar and she was not a happy person. We spent a lot of time emotional eating to deal with it as her children. Neither if us was able to lose weight until after the died. That's a sad thing. So excited you did a video in positivity. Would like to think I would do things differently if she were here now but not so sure. Now we try to focus on the active things we can do to make us happy. Our friends, family, videos and social media where positivity reigns. We love love your happy box idea!!! Hugs from the girls.

The most positive action I do for myself when I am having a bad day, is to reminisce about all the wonderful memories I have stored - my childhood, my life as a mother and all those wonderful spell binding moments :)

Carol,I couldn't agree more, I'm all about the inner child. I have so many wonderful memories in Greenwich Park with my grandmother, we had our own special tree too. I still go there and sit in that tree to this day. Thank goodness for lovely memories.Leannex

I always look at photographs of past vacations with my children. Or just photos of them when they were younger. it always makes me happy. OR, Disney movies!!!

Kim, I wish I was better at taking photographs, sadly we don't keep them, However, I did think that Instagram and Facebook are good for this. Having my friends children talk about some of the days out that we have been on, the Natural History Museum, Lego Land and Thorpe Park, I realised we have helped shape their memories too, which is amazing. And you had me at Disney Movies, Disney is my bag and I am loving the New Disney Life App.Leannex

If I am having a bad day I will go out and have a walk with my children to clear my head and once they are in bed to the night I will do my fave hobby and crochet to stop myself from snacking and even thinking about junk food. Taking up a productive hobby really takes your mind off things especially food.

Punkafoo,I agree children are a great way to put things into perspective, we don't have any of our own but we do look after my friends two children a lot. I am also a Sunday School Teacher, which I love doing, the fantastic comments and observations of children, the honesty and the no filter, they are brilliant.I don't crochet, but I do knit, which is great at keeping your fingers busy. I have a knitting blog called MummyRivett.com with some of my creations, I'm also on Ravelry @mummyrivett so if you are on there check me out.Have a great weekend.Leannex

I'm becoming the type of role model both physically and mentally that my daughter can look up to, and that makes me proud!

When I am feeling down and having a bad day I do one of these 3 things or all of them: 1) Look up positive affirmations online and write down in my journal what I am thankful for 2) Call each of my 3 children to talk. Hearing their voice can help the day improve. 3) Either go to the gym or put in a Leslie DVD and walk. Usually these 3 things will help me to not drown my emotions in food. I hope everyone has a great week!

      Sue,
I like the idea of keeping a journal of positive affirmations, I think this is something I might take up myself.
      Thank you for the tip.

I too suffer with depression, i have done for nearly 30 yrs. Long story short, i have a brain injury. but it was when i was a child this happened. Ive come through post traumatic stress, although at the time there wasnt a name for it. Im a better person because of what ive been through (so many traumas) but when i get down i think of my family, and how much id miss being around them. how much i love them etc.

Nicola,Thank you so much for sharing your situation, I agree that what we go through in life makes us a stronger and better person, we can also use it to help others, that is what is all about, getting alongside someone else and saying, 'You know what, I've been there, I get it, it is hard. But things do get better and with faith, hope and trust, you can pick yourself up and continue the journey. You may have many more hurdles to go, but look how far you have come'These are that best conversations, as you get to hear the real stories and the true heroes, they are the ones in our own neighbourhoods, our communities and our families. Never underestimate the power of Love, to be able to love someone, even if they are not here anymore is a special gift. Hold on to it and God bless you - Leanne xxxx

Nothing quite helps pick me up better than reading out an empowering verse of scripture from the bible. I'm not preaching, this is just my own personal thing to do and I know that everyone has their own different faiths or ideas. But the moment I speak out that I'm loved, I'm blessed etc then my mindset changes. Basically just being thankful for things in my life such as my husband, my children, my job, my home etc. Xxx

Hello Victoria,I totally agree with you on this one, I think that there is a lot of wisdom and help when it comes to empowering from the Bible. I love Proverbs, or as I tell the children, 'God's Twitter Feed' there is so much in there that you can draw strength from. Thank you for sharing.Leannex

Natalie,Thank you for being so honest about your situation, I totally understand and get where you are coming from. My goodness you have a double whammy being a carer on top. Please make sure you take time for you and know that you are an amazing and powerful person. It takes up a lot of energy to care for someone, especially if it is a loved one. Please also take comfort in the knowledge that there are people like my Mum and I who are going through it too, you are not on your own. Keep up the good work and I wish you all the best on your own Weight loss journey. Keep me posted. - Leanne xxx

Hi Leanne! it's my first week on WW and I am very pleased with a 5lb loss :) i have found it a little tough at times if I am honest, and I really appreciated your review of those M&S foods, as I am seeking out different things to eat. You really do a fantastic job of describing the meals, and your positive outlook is going to help keep me going. Thanks hun xx
I would like to enter the giveaway please - as I have suffered from depression in the past, when I have wobbles in life I tend to turn to food. To keep positive, I look around my home and towards my husband, son and friends and realise that I have lots to be grateful for, I think it's important to remind ourselves of what we have and not what we don't have :)

Hello My Winner,Well done to you, I hope that you enjoy the books, I they are all staples on my bookshelf and I am sure you will get a lot out of them.Thank you for sharing, I totally get the turning to food, it tends to be my go to comfort, I am gradually begining to break the cycle. My emotional eating tends to go in a pattern of Bread, Chocolate, Dairy - so when I notice myself developing this pattern, I break it with Mindfulness or something else to distract myself.Hop you have a great weekend and let me know when the package arrives.Leannex

Disney makes me happy too :)

      @TheRivetts  8 ปีที่แล้ว

Sabthefoodaddict,I am obsessed with Disney, ever since I was a child, anything to do with storytelling and make believe. I think it is healthy to have something to escape to, clearing our heads and helping us escape of a short while.Disney totally gets my vote, one day I'll get to Florida or Calafornia and do the US parks. I'm hoping to go back to Paris this year.Leannex

      Hello Teresa,
Nice to see your comment on here, how are you getting on? Paul plays loud music when he is down too.
I know we keep saying it, but we must meet up this year, it's been too long.

If I'm having a bad day, I look back at how far I've come with my own mental health issue. I suffered with severe anxiety for many years, but decided that I needed to fight it for the sake of my beautiful daughter. And I stuck to my word. My anxiety no longer controls me. I control 'it'. So... if I'm having a bad day, I look back and think, today isn't as bad as my past 😀
Great to see you're highlighting this 😀. (connector Batb79)

Hello Lovely Lady,Like you I do the same it is important to see how far we have come, coming from the place of anxiety myself and dealing with my Dad's Bipolar disorder is really hard, my Mum sees it the most as she is there with him 24 / 7. I am working hard to help break the stigma of Mental Health and I agree with you it is taking back control, I use mindfulness, which I'm sure you know all about and I attend one of the Frazzled Cafe's twice a month, I do find talking about it helps so much.I applaud you my sister, who also loves Cheese and talking Teddy Bears xxx
