People think stiflenaughtis a two-card-combo, but it's actually more like a 4-card-combo. Because most of the time you also need a counterspell and a protection
Exactly. It's quite easy to disrupt and every color has access to multiple answers, so having protection is a must. Safekeeper is a super interesting one!
My very first ever Premodern matches were with that deck! Even though I won quite a bit it was at a time when ppl still were not very well prepared against 12/12s, and I wasn't too high on the deck for the same reason I'm not too high on this one: the mana. If we can make the mana work out I think UG could be a legitimately great way to play Dreadnought, but until then it'll just be a worse version overall...
I love how sylvan library makes swords to plowshares a much worse card. Super cool deck! If I had dreadnought though, if I HAD dreadnought, I'd play greater good
Interesting approach. I tried using green with blue in one of my Dreadnought decks too but that was because of Oath of druids. It used all the pretty much all the blue staples (Foil and Gush were replaced with Mana Leak and standsill) but instead of white used Oath of druids and Moments peace (it buys a bit of time, and also works after being miled), and you can also use Naturalize, even cards like Roar of the Wurm work if you want a back up win condition since it also works great once miled. But the main plan was simple, once you have your vision charm or stifle (and a few counterspells of course) you play Oath and thats often it. Depending on the match up it worked even better than the traditional one, but overall i would say it performed a bit worse than the original. But i would say it is worth experimenting with.
Hermitnought OG Flint version already played the 3 Sylvan Safekeeper 3 years ago. Also losing daze, gush, foil, I don't see the gain plus vanishing the godly manabase. Elves is going to be the best deck if U12/12 and Tide dominates, and Rainbow Shrimp is gonna get traction because Fire//Ice, Fling, Stp, Engineered Plague in my opinion.
Yeah, Flint's list had the Safekeepers in the board, I remember that. I agree that this was a failed experiment, at least in this configuration, but failing is the only way towards progress and innovation!
@@johnguillem9817 I thought about it, since I’m often a fan of Lair lands in my UGW decks like Aluren. Ended up going with undiscovered paradise instead, which was kind of iffy. You kind of want to hit your land drops. Treva’s could be worth trying, though!
I remember trying this in the past, and the truth is like the Goose is unfortunately not good enough to pull its weight. Similar to what we saw of Tempting Wurm in this league, but even smaller :P
I was confused by this as well after the fact, but then I thought about it in retrospect and remember that with my opponent Porting me on upkeep I was forced into activating Bouncer without drawing my card for the turn, and that card was the Flash.
Thx for the premodern video
Always!

Very interesting idea!
Certainly a very cool idea, will need to work more on the execution!
Love the content- cheers mate!
Thanks for watching, much love!
So great
Glad you liked it! Sometimes takes a while for new videos to show up, but I try to make them worth it!
Francisco Yoooooooo!!! I plau UG Dreadnought with werebear and moongoose!!! LEts watch!

Oh yeah, that’s hot.
I'm doing my best to try to make Dreadnought cool!

Hahaha Greater Good is one of the most slept on combo decks in the format!
Safekeeper is such an underrated card
Agree big time! He is just as good as the context of the deck you're playing him in, though.

Yeah, Green does offer some really interesting angles to Dreadnought, I feel like it's all about finding the correct one to lean on!

@@fpawluszmtg yes I love seeing different list.
Hermitnought is underplayed, deck was tier0 at some point not too far ago.
I reckon the mana may just be unsolvable but do you think a copy or two of Treva's Ruins could be helpful?

what about mongeese? i would imagine that is the primary driver for green

An interesting idea but monoU with gush and foil is just way better.
Well... yes, hahaha
Manabase Would be better with GaT like (mox+gush
Edit you just mentioned it after lol
Round 1 game 2, why not discard FoI to Bouncer and then cast FoI from the graveyard to search for a Stifle?
I was confused by this as well after the fact, but then I thought about it in retrospect and remember that with my opponent Porting me on upkeep I was forced into activating Bouncer without drawing my card for the turn, and that card was the Flash.
No le has ganado ni a la pared Fran
Estuvo complicado, jajaja! Pero es asi, por cada UW Dreadnought, Bant Aluren y RG TerraOath hay varios experimentos fallidos en el proceso 😅
Solution: Register Misty Rainforest and hope no one notices 😅
JK, great league.
That'd certainly help! XD
