Nice work ,,,I have done the same new front rotors and pads ,, on my CLK55 AMG .which has the same Brembo set up..very easy job..an easy alternative if you dont want to remove the caliper bracket is to just remove the caliper from the caliper bracket ,,using the two 10mm internal Hex bolts,,,115 Nm.
I can tell you now maintaining one isnt all to hard at all. Just the trans requires a bit more know how when maintaining it. As the 722.9 trans has no dipstick but its not impossible and can be done yourself. 🍻
Editing absolutely sucks, for me it's the absolute worst part of creating TH-cam content. You do a great job and I always enjoy watching what you produce. Since we share the SLK 55 platform, you inspire me to try some of the maintenance myself. Thanks for doing what you're doing!
@@troytyler55 I've met Ivan, great guy and he is happy to share his knowledge. I've picked his brain several times. I'm always willing to share my knowledge and insight as well, don't hesitate to ask.
Yellow Jacket Garage appreciate you for reaching back out and yeah currently have a starter problem on the 55 wanna do at home video can’t find any lol so .
Yellow Jacket Garage currently no it doesn’t made it all way home one night parked it next morning nothing changed Cps as well only hear fuel pump kick in battery voltage good
Great to find another AMG modifier on YT! I have a C55 AMG and ML55 AMG on my channel where I am currently beginning a 6 speed swap build series for the C55. Always love seeing more content on these amazing yet under-appreciated platforms! You have two really awesome examples! Sub'd 🤙🏼
Another great vid! Just on the rear shock top mounts in the boot. The covers do have circle cut outs pre defined from factory but they don't cut them completely through. I can understand why your previous owner made those extra cuts to make life easier but you can do the job without slicing it up as bad as they did if you have the patience. Then it doesn't look so bad after if you wanna avoid needing to buy a new liner etc. Love your vids and seeing the progression so far. Would love to see a vid review on the coil overs and how you've found them from a ride quality as well as comparison on handling improvement etc. Rock on 🤘
No calipers are still performing very well. Just needed new hardware, pads and brake lines. Car has 113k miles so I decided to give it a refresh along with a new appearance. 🤓👌
How did you flush and bleed the brake fluid after ? I have a w211 e55 amg also and I want to repaint my brakes and remove the calipers completely but haven’t looked into that part next
Typically you would need to flush and bleed the system using star since we have the SBC system. The slk55 doesnt have the sbc system so using a break bleeding tool is ok. You can attempt on the E55 as i have done so before. You will need a high pressure brale bleeding tool and do it in sequence dr front pass front, dr rear pass rear. Doing this you must have the SBC system unplugged and battery unpluged

Awesome... I'm planning on buying an SLK and researching what I'm in for as I plan to do much of the maintenance myself.

were the calipers dragging, what prompted the rebuild
