Hi, Me again. I just did the same job on my 55 a couple of weeks ago. I needed to change out the cam cover gaskets (you'll probably know that's a typical fault in the m113) so I though I'd change the plugs while in there. I did not have the plug tool with the swivel that you have, I used a socket set u/j joint and the job took its toll on my knuckles! The plugs were very much like yours, even one a bit corroded at the back on the left bank. Nice consistent coffee/grey coloured electrodes throughout tho'.
One thing I'd say to anyone doing this job is to make sure that you have the long 17mm offset spanner like you have to get the suppressor caps off, mine had not been off for 9 years (plugs last changed in 2011 @ 21k miles, now at 42k) and were stuck fast. I really struggled with a standard size spanner.
Good job, I enjoyed watching what you did.
Couple of questions, what is the black pump like thing at the start of the video? and did you fit it? and finally, was there a reason you removed the whole MAF sensor assy rather that taking out 2 torqs and just sliding out the actual sensor unit? I think it might be easier to clean it like this. I'm planning on cleaning mine and would like to hear your thoughts.
    Cheers, Billy in Scotland.

Oh yes that specific tool spanner and wrench for plugs are a need when owning these type of motors.
The black pump is the secondary air pump for emissions. Link for video th-cam.com/video/T1cfsxgS0xI/w-d-xo.html
As for the maf I wanted to inspect the 90° Elbow and maf gasket which is shown in the video. You can also do it that way also but make sure it seals or you will get codes etc etc from disturbing that area of the maf.

Hey love the videos especially of the slk. I just purchased at clk 55 with low miles. does your slk have exhaust modifications? The startup at the end of the video sounded amazing. I’d love to get my clk sounding like that!

I appreciate that you enjoy my content. Truely do.
Yes, it has some exhuast tweaks. Try deleteing secondary cats along with a resonator delete and replace it with a Xpipe.

Question how much should I pay for this slk 55 if I find one?please,I have the slk 280,but I dont think it is fast enough,I like to buy the 55 like yours, thanks

    • @Pufferkusser
      @Pufferkusser 4 ปีที่แล้ว

Depends where you live. In the UK I paid £15000 ($19000) for an immaculate late 2006 car with 41k miles and 3 previous owners. The performance compared to a 280 will blow your mind. It is like a older (90's) generation supercar performance wise.

Hmm a few factors to consider
      Location.
North America or european sector? This will be different price ranges from both. America being cheaper than european sectors.
Miles is a factor but not a thing to focus on.
These are 10 plus yr old vehicles so make sure the transmission 722.9 and engine are cared for.
A good pre purchase inspection is required.
The vario roof is a costly item if you are not a hand DIY person.
So see if you can see if it's been serviced. If not I have a video covering this. Which can assist you.
I would range them from 6k to 14k for a really fine specimen. The more cared for the more it will be sold for.

    • @PANZERSGARAGE

For a vehicle this aged I recommend every 60k miles.
