I’m with you on the all the safety features on new vehicles. I have a 24 Dmax and the collision alert does my head in. It thinks I’m going to have a head on every 5 minutes! I have a button on steering wheel that turns off lane keep assist etc, it’s the first thing I turn off as soon as I start it!
Just put a raid bar on mine and the 2inch ironman lift. I must say i liked the look of it and the fact it comes with the bash plate was a bonus. 100% agree with you on the lane crap. I cant stand it and turn it off everytime i jump in now. The hands on the wheel is the most frustrating thing ive ever seen. There should be an option to permanently turn it off like in my hilux.
@@Roaming_bullys yer correct. My hilux has a lane departure button which can be turned off and stays off until you hit it again when needed. Wish the ranger did this. But the V6 is what sold me I love the torque!
No worries 👍🏼 the things that annoy me are very minor in the scheme of things. I’ve never had any issue with anything mechanical or anything major. I suppose those annoying things can happen when there’s so much tech in them.
Hey mate not sure if you were saying the tow screen comes up when you dont have a trailer hitched? If so that shouldnt happen and at a guess maybe an accessory has tapped the trailer power wires
It doesn’t happen all the time though. I’ll also have the caravan selected and when I turn the car off, it defaults back to “default trailer” and does stupid stuff 😫🤷🏻♂️ one of those stupid gremlin things.
it would be over its gvm with van on i reckon-- i had a v6 580 amarok-- 2020 model and with suspension upgrade bullbar and canopy and just me the dog and the mrs in the car-- nothing in the tub , unlike your drawers etc we were 50kgs over gvm,i sold is and bought a y62 , nice ute by the way, just keep an eye on weights, regarding fuel--- thats pretty good--- im towing 3300kgs tandem van and use 22l per 100, all over australia, im wrapped as its a 5.6lv8 petrol, and all those safety , you want lower gears when towing not 10th gear as your transmission will be running at 40000 degrees , tow cruising in 8th
I had it weighed before we left and were under 👍🏼 I seriously contemplated a y62 but had no where to put our dog when we were at home. I like to be able to just hose the tub out. I think you’ll find, there is more weight to play with in the next gen than there is in the Y62.
@@Roaming_bullys yes for sure--- i took out 3rd row seats that gave me an extra 40kgs, the dogs is on the back seat---very spoilt,, i didnt put drawers in the y62 as really unnecessary as i can fit every thing under false floor 👍
Interesting my 23 ranger sport v6 lane control holds its lane well👍 check out advanced ice they have a camera intergration packaged to add you camera to your screen and works really well but expensive. Check out the pirate camp co uhf receiver bracket it’s location is perfect and adding the magnetic mount is 👌
I really feel like the lane control try’s too hard to centre you and over compensates. It could also be me just liking to have a bit of room between the car and the lane too. I can also get the monitor for the safety Dave that goes over the rear view mirror. Can’t see through the back when the vans on anyway. I looked at a few brackets for the UHF and almost all of the required holes in the car. I hated that idea and just sat it in the centre until I found something. I forgot to keep looking and now it just sits there 🤣
Just had my 2023.50 serviced, and was told to expect an update to the manual for towing which advises turning off lane assist when towing due to the danger of causing sway
@@Roaming_bullys the pirate co bracket has no holes added and the advanced ice intergration comes up on the bottom of your Centre console screen over where the air conditioner information would normally be leaving your apple car play in the smaller mode above it 👍
Hey thanks a lot for the detailed honest video. I’m considering to get one myself. Would Bi-turbo ranger be good enough as well for the big lap towing 3.2T caravan?
In all honesty, if I was towing 3.2t I would be looking at something with a bit bigger towing capacity. Maybe the Ram? I think 3.2t might be cutting things a little too close 🤷🏻♂️ just my opinion 👍🏼
I been watching your review and I’m at a point weather should I upgrade my 2018 Colorado or look to buy a new tow vehicle, should I upgrade the suspension? Because mechanics are saying getting parts are getting hard and there is a problem with the upper arm if I upgrade, scrubs tyres any info would be be a help
Hey mate, this is hard to answer because it will depend on what you plan on doing and plan on towing. If there’s nothing wrong with the Colorado it would be a a lot cheaper to upgrade your suspension than buy a new car. But, with a new car you get peace of mind with warranties and new tech. I pity the 2 inch lift and don’t have any issues with the tyres or control arms.
gday! I have a ranger but I dont think the factory jack is made to the size, I mean can't even get the load off the wheel while fully extended, do you carry a proper jack mate.
20,000 Kms in 3 months is an average of 222km every day. Have you found that has still given you plenty of time to relax and have a good look around? TIA
I think we have seen everything we wanted to. 200ks a day sounds like a lot but it’s only 2 hours driving. We tend to drop the van and explore a lot of the towns so that’s where the extra ks come into it. We have spent a week at a couple of places and some spots we do 2 or 3 days.
Hey matey . You shouldn't be towing in 0th gear. You tow in 10th and the transmission gets to hot. G so many people do it. I have seen ford transmission pack it in because of that. Crazy.
Reason I have not bought one is the V6 is only available in the Top models. To much BS in those cars. Paying for crap I don't want. To Expensive. I have stayed with my 3.2L 2020 model
What a great review of a beautiful vehicle,I agree the look of the new ranger is magnificent....cheers...
