Absolutely incredible performance, arranging and great tune! Amazing you can tune in to TH-cam and hear this for free. Priceless. Tightest big band I've ever heard, and I've heard a few.
Wow!! That chart cooked! All the solos were great and Chuck Findley did a wonderful job on the solo part. I agree with Chuck, the trumpets were GREAT. Hope ther are more arrangements by Drew Zavemba on TH-cam.
Great alto solo, made the most of those great Kern changes! And a fine arrangement as well. Most times I hear the 1 o'clock it ain't about swinging--this is a nice exception.
And they say music is dead in public education! I've been listening to the One O'Clock Lab Band for years, mainly started on Pandora, and this is just one tight music group. At North Texas Jazz, are any of the other Lab bands ever shown? I've never heard or seen any, I'm curious.
Thanks for your comment. Videos like this one are made from the live stream provided by the college's recording services unit. Typically it's concerts by the One O'Clock Lab Band that get streamed. We do, however, release audio recordings by the Two O'Clock Lab Band, Jazz Singers, Latin Jazz Lab, and more. You can find them at our online store: music.unt.edu/store/
What an excellent arranger and alto player Drew Zaremba is! And what a tight big band the UNT BB is!
I've got to put in a word for the trombone solo, but the whole band puts a lot of big name bands to shame.
Wow left handed jazz drummer amazing
Drummer is incredible. Amazing dynamics phrasing and accuracy.

Cosa si può dire, niente ,bravissimi e complimenti a tutti I maestri di musica...
That saxophone solo was killer!
Once again the One O’Clock shows it can play with, or in some cases, better than almost anyone.
Nice alto and trombone solos
THAT GUITAR SOLO WAS FIRE
Wow, that trumpet feature is unbeatable!
That trumpet feature at 4:49 is so damn tight!
This is one I come back to again......and again. Wow!
UNBELIEVABLE DRUMMER... and playing left handed on right handed setup.. right on the money..

there are...several awaiting your viewing :)
this arrangement is so good..
great band as to be expected. But the alto solo got my attention most, even more than Findley
I love the trombonists quote from The Way You Look Tonight - nice compact solo

Gracias Cats, el sonido , el Groove, la perfección. Que fuego. Gracias a todos!!!
Great bass player!
Gorgeous, this is such a great band.
@ 2:10 nice way to start out the solo with the "Bitter Jug" melody :)
Thanks for that. I spent 10 minutes thinking to myself "Why does that sound really familiar?"
Absolutely SUPERB jazz artistry!!!! 🤳👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼.
killin alto solo!!!! great job jimmy
Awe struck at these guys. Amazing super talents. ♥️
Major flex 💪💪 with that alto solo go off drew
YES
Is it just me or did Findley lose half a beat at the break (1:12)? Yet the lab band still came in together super cleanly!
Hey man, artistic freedom :)
Awesome sounding band!!
Two places at once.
Chuck's unmistakable sound.
Watching Chuck, I don't feel so bad about my finger placement on the valves.
That arrangement is a bitch.
Yeah Jake!
OMG

I don't know where you're from, but music education is alive and well in Texas.
Tea for Two
😮
What specific cymbals are on that drumset? They sound great!
These musicians are nothing unless they learn and recognize the contributions that Leon Breeden brought to that program.
Who is the alto that didn't solo?
Jonathan Mones
@@northtexasjazz What is the name of the trumpet player in the black shirt and red tie?. He looks so appreciative and generous towards the soloists
@@alangiles2763 Joshua Kauffman. Super freaking talented musician!
