I’m a drumming instructor and I can’t tell you how many kids were inspired to start playing drums because of this movie. Thank you Jack and thank you Kevin. Rest In Peace.
Kevin Clark, a Chicago musician who as a child actor portrayed drummer Freddy “Spazzy McGee” Jones in the 2003 film School of Rock, died Wednesday after he was struck and killed by a driver while biking in Chicago. Clark was 32
What I love about Jack Black in this is that he isn't playing for the audience at all. Look how he turns his back to the audience in order to face his band and jam with them. Mad respect for the Jables.
Loved at the end how him, the guitar player and bassist all turned and faced the drummer. Exaclty like you said they were jamming out for more themselves than the audience.
Well that's Jack Black for you when it comes to music he really is so passionate about it and that's honestly my favorite thing about him even before I knew he was a musician and loved rock so much I always loved his acting and how hilarious he was but once I learned this it was completely different since I grew up on rock and roll. Def Leppard, Metallica, ACDC, and just anyone else you can think of pretty much and just finding out that he and Kyle made songs of their own I had to check them out. Still to this day the best song ever by Tenacious D is at least for me Tribute hands down.
Thank you Kevin, we never met but you inspired me to become a drummer at age 12 and I’m 24 now and still playing. You’ve impacted me and millions of others
i was shocked when i heard he died in that bike accident :( it sucks that hes not gonna be at the 20th anniversary this year but hes definitely gonna look down on jack & his costars. r.i.p. kevin aka freddy :( rock the drums with god & rock out with Him in heaven :(
Wait... didn't actually realize the kids in the movie really played their instruments and sang in the movie.. wow... mind blown! I thought it was just pantomiming. Thats awesome! Kind of makes me wanna rewatch it now.
these people made me want to pick up a guitar when I was 10 years old. Because of them I played a lot of great rock shows and recorded a lot of songs and had a blast doing it. Music can change young peoples minds and change the world.
jack black is the only celebrity that I like on youtube, the others seem like they just came to the platform to reach a bigger audience or get more money
I never get tired of watching that movie & this performance over & over again.... Such a great gathering of people & a very very inspiring movie. Thank you all!
Secretly??? More like extremely openly. 😂 I was in love with that kid in 5th grade. I cherished this “Spazzy McGee” bookmark of him that I got at my school scholastic book fair, omg.
Love how much fun the original cast is obviously having. That is rare and appears 100 percent unforced. By the way, the actress who was the little blond girl in the movie is a complete smoke show now! Holy shit!
Legendary movie, who would have ever thought that a school rock band would make such a great and fun movie Well Jack Black beeing himself made this so insanely good The greatest movies happen when the actors stay themselves, I will always remember Denzel Washington talking about how he managed to do so well in Training Day and he said he was just beeing himself
what a reunion man hella incredible first time seein it another ten years after, from last recording i saw i knew Lawrence was hiding behind the ladys, on Joeys side wouldve gotten everyone in there better in this one Freddies never shown RIP what a sad loss we faced this year sux thisll never be the same now if ever any reunion dang much bigger faces they grew dam older
The things I would have done to see this in person. It’s my favorite movie of all time and as a kid I always dreamed about being in the crowd at battle of the bands. Just found out they did this reunion and now I gotta watch all the videos lol
Wirklich Mega 🤘 und das nach all den Jahren. #danke dafür 😊 ich fand das schon früher genial, aber selbst nach 10 Jahren rockt das immer noch dermaßen gut. 2023 ist dann 20 jähriges 😅 hoffentlich kommt dann nochmal was.

They did play on the soundtrack with additional instrumentation by the Mooney Suzuki who also wrote the song
At least now the principal wasn’t there to scold them. 😅

This is the kind of stuff that heals the soul.

This is the reunion concert I didn't know I needed.
During the movie they were all shorter than Jack, now they are all taller. :)
Actually a few of them were taller than him back then
All of the kids grew up to be handsome and pretty. So great to see no one’s into drugs. Great video clip.
