I appreciate how alive and finely detailed the levels are despite the fact that more often than not, the player will be tearing through them as quickly as they can. It's nice to slow down a little bit sometimes and just play through a level looking for all its secrets so you can appreciate the environments in this game.
Thats why secrets are in this game in the first place - this way, while searching for them, you can unravel the true beauty of the maps this game has. And that also makes you memorize them even more, makes you remember this game and never forget
This looks so fucking good. I was a little sad we got so little of Heresy's aesthetic, but this definitely scratches that itch. Can't wait to have my prostate flattened by whatever lives down this street.

Hakita knows how to do atmospheric build up for a boss. In my opinion, the atmosphere of Heresy is the best so far and I'm glad to see more being done with it.
i like to imagine that the sanctuary intro songs were the favorite songs of their prisoners in life as well, as if their souls are still so burning with memory they manifest it as echoes of their former glory

This is reminding me of a theory I had on who the next prime soul would be So, I guessed it would be either Sisyphus, since he’s well detailed throughout greed like Minos Or there’d be a total curveball and it would be whoever the first ferryman was, which in Dante’s inferno, the ferryman was named Charon Here, we hear rain and thunder, just like in 5-2 where we fight a ferryman And I’m the ferryman’s lore, there’s a mention that there is (or used to be) more than one in existence
If I remember correctly, though, each new Ferryman literally fights to the death to take the new spot, so there's a good chance the real OG Ferryman (or even Cheron) is too far dead to be resurrected for P-2, especially so for ferrymen *after* Cheron since they seem to be husks from the start.
I looped this video, and I actually fell asleep to it. This is incredibly peaceful for some reason. Just the distant echo of the classical music combined with the rain and wind… very calming.
The piano sporadically trailing off instead of just gradually degrading makes it a lot more haunting in my opinion. Sounds like something from the first part of Everywhere at The End of Time

This is very interesting. It is very reminiscent of the lust layer in the sense that based on the enviroment there was a functional society at one point. Im interested to see where this will go lore wise
I think it might be Dis, a city in Heresy that served as the capital of Hell according to the _Divine Comedy_ . Iirc you can even see something resembing a city in the background of 6-1.
I want to say Thank You Hakita for putting such a tremendous amount of work into this game. The atmosphere, the music, and the gameplay. It all just seems to fit perfectly. As I am challenging through violent mode, perfecting all the levels, I do not lose any enjoyment no matter how long I am playing. Ultrakill is really helping me lose some of the stress college puts on me. I cannot wait what amazing things will be added to the game until its final phase. Thank You! PS. I hope there will be more Christmas sweaters of Ultrakill next year. I missed this year's ones but one day I shall proudly wear one during the Christmas massacre at the dinner table.

The ambience is really well done in this level. The intro feels less creepy and more… melancholic? I have a feeling this level will be much more intense (thematically and gameplay wise) than p-1. Needless to say I’m excited for 2023 Edit:upon not listening to this in a busy mall i realize how not melancholic that piano is, that shit is offsetting. Still hyped tho.

This is probably just me, but I swear, under all the distortion and rain, I can hear a scant few notes of "London bridge is falling down", and combined with the gothic architecture, it gives me... Victorian Era vibes. The fact it looks like a rainy alleyway doesn't do the atmosphere any favours, and I mean that in the best way. All that together, I'm starting to worry if the prime boss here is going to be a certain... *Ripper.*

well ive p ranked whole game on violent, 100% all chapters including challenges and available secret levels, but i know im going to get fucked up the ass the second i fight p2... oh boy HERE WE FUCKING GO WOOOOOO. Mad respect for you and the team Hakita. your game is one of the best on steam, and one of the best games of all time. im just starting on programming and spriting and you guys are the epitome of making it to success even if you come out nowhere. you deserve all the success in the world. this game quickly became one of my favorites. my only complaint is v2 dies so fast i cant hear the banger versus any longer in game lmao
