BMW M4 DTM 2016 in action at Misano Circuit: Warm Up, Accelerations & Fly Bys!

- Back in 2018, Misano World Circuit hosted the first ever night race in DTM history. During the weekend my friends Davide458Italia, Italiansupercarvideo and I discovered the three DTM teams had a couple of reserved sessions for taxi rides, where professional drivers taking guests and VIPs around the track in previous gen DTM cars. BMW was there with what it looks like a 2016-spec M4 (the "winged" mirrors, front headlights, front flaps and rear diffuser are the main characteristics to recognize this version) but featuring the 2018 livery used by Timo Glock, since they have/had to show the current sponsors during official events and shows like it happens with Formula 1 cars.
The M4 is powered by a BMW P66 4.0-liter V8 engine able to produce around 460 hp (with air restrictor) at 7,500 rpm. The taxi M4 was driven by Mikkel Jensen.

Back when dtm was a standout GT car championship, now thats all become a GT3 spec car

4.0 flat plane V8 around 500 ps i think
2.0 turbo
This is the original M4 DTM so it has the naturally aspirated P66 V8 (used since 2012 in the M3 DTM).
Starting from 2019 it was replaced by the M4 Turbo DTM which is powered by the P48 2.0L 4-cylinder, single turbo.

The BMW V8 sounded good, but the Audi and Mercedes engines were feisty on another level!
one thing i notice is they managed to still push the engine further back on the dtm car compared to the road going m4 so its mostly behind the front axle. More mid-front mounted engine

Are these faster than gte cars?
Yes
For overall track time, yes, but not for top speed, GTE could close to 300 km/h, but DTM usually tops 280 km/h. But DTM is faster on cornering speed.
Edit: for new engine 2.0L Turbo, already exceeds 300 km/h, report on Super GT x DTM race on Fuji, almost all cars clocks more than 300 km/h on Fuji 1.5 km straight.
