I just watched this good film. But it's not clear that Ray Milland has a "dalliance" with Laughton's mistress as Eddie says. He's passed out on a sofa for just a couple of hours at most. The titular big clock is amazing & art design just terrific! Sort of a mid-century modern art deco, if you see what I mean. Well worth watching, if only for that. I might have see this twice.
