This song kind of crept up on me back in the day, and stayed...Enigmatic! Can't quite put my finger on what it is that's so (un-obviously) alluring. Adele's vocal really stands out, but doesn't steal the limelight. Sublime
If Adele sees this, I have adored your sound and intensity in this song for most of my life. I am a lifelong Thomas Dolby supporter and always hoped to tell you how unique and intoxicating your voice is, along with your ability to find the most intricate harmony changes. I am so excited to finally see other videos of your work! Peace and harmony to you. Brian
What an awesome video. I was listening to the 40th Anniversary Edition of The Flat Earth and when Hyperactive! came on I realized I never knew who sang the duet with Dolby which led me to this video (thanks Google & TH-cam!) This is my favorite version of Hyperactive! now. (Thomas Dolby blew my mind in the 80s and led me into the rathole of electronic music. I had a chance to interview him many years ago - which was a thrill.)
I was listening to this again.. and this time check out for hoping to see girl who have such a clarity in voice. Now I see it is a full package. Epic. Perfection.

I 4th this lol. I love the 7 inch single by The Bloods. "Button Up"
The energy of this song--Adele's solo in particular--gives me chills. So talented!
No words! Ok one word. Brilliant !!!!!!!

Adele sounds amazing here, and that bass synth running behind in milliseconds with the band is sooo dope.
I've never seen what she looked like in person before haha. She really nailed the vocals though. Sounds better than her recorded version to me.

Buy Adele’s books! She’s a hell of a good writer too!!!
Interesting...
💪💯
3:46 till the end...Fire!!
must have been awesome to work with thomas dolby
I know you from your no wave era - I didn't realize until just recently how all over the place you were in the 80s - busy lady!
How cool!
To be honest, I always thought that the backing vox in the chorus were Dolby's voice pitched! Maybe because of the video... 😂 So sorry!
was gene hackman really playing?
Yikes how tall is she? Dolby is only 5'6 and he makes her look tiny.
