I own a 2015 Xcent with around 15k kms done....no problem faced...and will easily do 140-150kmph on an open stretch...and i frequently get around 18-20kmpl when driving lightly.... excellent choice i must say

After seeing the video in 2015 I bought the xcent car and I must say it was a good decision the car is still working good and it's awesome

Zest is best car in segment and safest car with 4 star ncap safety rating and uses same engine which is dizire uses so no reliability issues..
Nice comparison. Zest seems to be a good come back car for Tata motors. It stands up to the hype that was given.

It'snot at all good car. I m not able to sit comfortably in passenger seat. Just going on brand image...

True.. just as a car the Xcent comes out tops coz of its all round ability.. however if we factor in the prices.. esp considering the Xcent SX(O) is on par on features with Zest XMS! It is the Zest which comes out top with its great value for money..
The Zest XMS costs 6.6 lacs on road for the petrol.. while the Xcent SX(O) costs 7.9 lacs!! All on road Bangalore..
Ignoring 1.3 lacs in favour of Xcent is really really tough..
Amaze- it doesn't have much space at the rear as the video shows. In fact when compared to dzire and xcent(I have no idea about zest), one will feel cramped when 3 people sit at the rear. On the whole when comparing to the 4 cars looking at the video and from my personal experience, my pick would be on xcent; reason: it has good space, good mileage, better infotainment and looks better than the rest.
Go for xcent u will feel the difference in high speed

In this comparison Zest is the best car..Its hav 15 inch alloy wheel,navigation,100000km warranty..and good in thigh support..Comfortably site 3 adults in back seat. All the best team TATA...
Tata seems to be improving a great lot. I am worried that might go unnoticed with the kind of mentality most of us have. Start to believe in our home grown company, they are bound to turn the tables for their competitors that is now ruling our minds...
Are you kidding me ? Zest is the winner not xcent. Overall Zest is the one which is good among all. Xcent Kappa engine isn't as powerful as Revotron. Feature wise its slightly up from zest but not whole lot more. Zest is feature packed with power. I want diesel review of same cars if you can. I will wait for diesel review. Zest with manual transmission not AMT as its not the smoothest gearbox.
Hyundai Xcent is indeed the best midsize car of the segment. It clearly beats the Zest, Amaze and Dzire in the following fronts performance, handling and looks. Xcent does look like a proper 3 box sedan and not an add on job(after thought) like the rest..
Zest is best against the Rest.

Can't find a full comparison across sub 4 meter segment with both petrol & diesel variants.
Dezire sold 18185 units in September 2014. This is the second most selling car in india right now, second only to Maruthi's alto. The other three cars in comparison here sold 11660, put together. Means the dezire sold 6525 more units than the other three cars put together in the last month.
This shows the fact that there is something more to the feeling of the indian market that what is discussed here.
+rakhi narayanan it is the unbeatable after sales service and the better resale value. you can expect that with every Maruti car. Keeping those two things in mind, the only car worth being discussed against the Dzire in this segment should be the Xcent.

Have been using zest for the 28000+ kilometeres milege in highway is 18 and at city is 15 ... finest interior and good steering control👌 recommend to buy.

Agree- Xcent IS d best car. I own a Amaze Diesel and my last 2 cars were Indica vista and Indica v2.. TATA CAN make an excellent product .. BUT POST SALES OH BOY..... Ask anyone who has used a TATA car for personal use..SERVICE IS A HORROR SHOW!!! TRUST ME I TRIED 7 YES SEVEN Tata service centers in Delhi
Zest is much better drivable car. One has to learn using its various modes smartly as per the situation. Its ride is farm more comfortable for back seat passengers due to its heavy body running aligned to road and excellent suspension. It is a robust car among all compared.
Zest XMS Petrol is the best ever in compact sedan, drive 750 km non stop from indore (MP) to sarata(MH) with comfort in all respect

hey, Can you also suggest on the Chevy Sail which was recently been updated. I know its not in same category but its cost is somewhere in same range. So If you can suggest considering that too, it would be helpfull for us.
It cant quite manage to be as good as the competition above..
It neither can match the sheer all round ability of the sub 4 meter class.. nor can it be compared with the premium C segment offerings..
Too expensive for its features.
Having taken the test drive of all 4, my take is on Hyundai xcent and that is why I went for it. The reason being it is the best in fuel efficiency, good interiors, big boot space, smooth ride, low maintenance cost and last but not the least it has a good resale value as well. So all in all a very good bargain as compared to Amaze, Zest or Dzire.
I am in a big confusion, please help me and say which is better to buy.

ZEST is Good Car but Still there is questions about Tata Dealers/Service Centres. There are three challenges in front of Tata & that is 1.After sales service, (need to learn from Maruti-Suzuki)
2.Keep Zest as a Car not a ''Cab or Taxi like Premier''(Remember Premier history-What peoples mindset fixes that time...& what is condition today)
3.Most important peoples mindset about Tata Motors ..''Tata Motors is not only a Transport Vehicle Mfg. but also its best Car Manufacturer''
I hope Tata will keep Zest as a Premium Car & try to improve further....to win the Race.

Vinayak Wawge Not any more. TATA has drastically improved the quality of its vehicles and can now boost of competing its foreign rivals. Things are only going to improve further in the future. I am a happy and proud owner of Zest for six months now. I didn't face any problems in my car and the service guy gives me door to door service which even maruti may not give. The game is now definitely changing for TATA. Zest has changed that perception. It is too strong a product to be ignored. Hope TATA gets its due credit in the coming times. TATA has already announced that bolts and zests will not be sold as taxis unlike its rivals including dzires and xcents. This is the major reason zest sales are still lower than the rest.
I cannot understand which to take the zest or the xcent but I have heard that tata is not a good company
Ahsanul Haque Tata is a good company but they are not as flashy and vocal about it like other brands. Zest and Aria are two very underrated Tata products in India compared to the products from foreign car makers like Hyundai , Honda and Toyota .Tata got a bad reputation because they did not have a segregated business for Passenger and Commercial vehicles and hence perceived as Truck , Taxi ( Indica / Indigo) manufacturers. The visit to a Tata Service Centre was not liked by general public as they didnt like these Indica , Indigo cab drivers sitting alongside - but that doesnt mean that Tatas were not taking care of your car any less than a Maruti / Hyundai Service centre ! And believe me Hyundai / Maruti Service stations may have all those people paying attention to you with smiling faces BUT that is a sweet trap to squeeze the money out of you which the Tatas are not doing .

+oleti subrahmanyam In Petrol- if you want a complete package i.e. looks, performance, features, interiors, go for the Xcent. There is no difference between Xcent and Dzire in terms of performance, Xcent infact feels more confident on the road. However if you are not really bothered how your car looks on the outside, Dzire is a slightly better option because of its better resale value and slightly better after sale service being a Maruti. In Diesel- Dzire again is the safest best bet. However if you want a better looking diesel car, you can go for the Zest but when you are talking about diesel engines, they need more maintenance so I would personally suggest Dzire over Zest to anyone on any day.

+Samrat Roy go for Dzire vdi or zdi. However if by chance you feel like buying a petrol I would suggest the Xcent because it is on par with the Dzire in performance, it is better looking than the Dzire, feels excellent on the road and has much better interiors and features. Only benefit of the dzire petrol over the xcent is that being a Maruti you can expect lesser maintaining costs and a slightly better resale value.

buddy if you are in the market for a compact sedan i would suggest you to look beyond the dzire, xcent and zest and have a look at the new Amaze, Aspire or even the VW Ameo. The new Amaze interiors give it a refreshing luxury sedan look and it has excellent performance. Aspire is a very under rated car just like every other Ford vehicle in India. VW Ameo looks interesting as well, especially because its VW priced very competitively for this segment. Do a bit of research for Amaze, Aspire and Ameo in my opinion according to your budget.
Could you please update the comparison of all Sub4 meter sedans by adding VW Ameo and Ford Figo Aspire . Tata Kite andChevrolet Essentia are to be launched .

I have swift VXI in my family. I know it's bit light. But unsafe means what? If u go n bang at 80kmph. Normally we hit on brakes. N by the time of collision speed reduces to 40 or so. For that matter if Scorpio n creta not safe

Even if you R not going 80kmph, the other car/lorry could be going that speed. And since force = mass x acceleration, your speed really doesn't matter, the speed does not even matter if a lorry is hitting you even at 10, ok?

I don't know from where the Etios comes to your mind, but I also think the same way. Superb car. Only thing which refrained from buying Etios is its built quality. Inverse to the engine quality. Why Toyota is doing this?
Almost 90 percent Etios (in Mumbai city) I saw are with at least one dent. Unhappy.
+Abhijeet n Kavita Honestly nothing beats a Toyota. Owned a Corolla and it was an absolute beast. I agree Etios doesnt have a great built quality but that is something one has to compromise with when you are getting a Toyota for just 6 or 7lacs.
I prefer the jetta , its more comfortable and built better . still though i respect your opinion !
Oh and there is no difference between the Octavia and the jetta ( except for the design ) turns out they make them both in the same factory .
