Honda city wins in all the comparisons..city:117bhp vs ciaz:91bhp...ciaz really poor power delivery..Honda city is the king of this segment.
Irfan Safeer Irfan Only more power doesn't make City the king of this segment. If you are comparing power, than VW Vento is far ahead of competition. And among city and ciaz, sales figures of ciaz are higher.. So the figures speak for themselves

Though city is more powerful,It cannot matchup with the aspects of acceleration of ciaz in diesel Variant..
But city is a segment king in petrol variant..
I am 6 ft and my head almost touches the roof in the front seat and definitely hits the roof on the back seat of the City. The Ciaz is not exciting agreed but atleast if has better comfort, more silent cabin and feels roomier. I cannot compromise so much for the adventurer side of me, that would be a bit foolish.

What should be the clincher is safety, something few reviewers talk about. With the knocking Maurti has taken recently with regards to safety the choice should be obvious.
Ciaz is better. Maruti has better customer service and Ciaz is more fuel efficient just like al other Maruti cars. But Honda City is the legend of sedans and it has a big reputation in India

city pulls amazingly in 2nd gear when you put foot completely down.. its scary actually

Honestly we are bored of Verna Fludic & Honda City 3rd generation ivtech is having a much better looks then Honda City 2015.....so Ciaz all the way is best!

ciaz has got great ground clearance greater than the city offer greater mileage ,its bigger than the city ,plastics are of good quality supremely comfortable glides over potholes. great value for money.
james ekka The Honda has a much more powerful engine, more engaging car to drive, handles better. The Ciaz has better ride quality, space and economy so the City will appeal more to the enthusiastic driver where as the Ciaz will be the choice for the practical buyer. In the end though the Honda reliability is what edges City ahead for me
well we have purchased both the cars and both are reliable my dad drives ciaz my mom drives city.
Remember. Whatever car is. Lower ground clearance is better and safer for high speed driving and cornering.

Ciaz- bigger sedan feel. Better noise reduction. Less bumpier ride. Over all good package.

i would prefer ciaz over city because of its cute design, large service network, better price and super interior... 91 Bhp power is enough for a car, even suv duster has 85 Bhp model too.. it pulls the vehicle without any lag...

City is a very nice car with zero maintenance. I have driven by honda more than 90k. Yes average is less but engine and comfort is just wow

I did test drive both this vehicle City V and Ciaz ZXI+ as both of these vehicles price comes close at hand.. i couldn’t come to a conclusion.. so please suggest me which one to buy? I’m looking a sedan for my parents and they are 50+.. in a budget of 11-12L.. usage is only 1000kms/month it will be always maintained by a chauffeur.. which one is reliable? Performance is secondary.. mileage, comfort and maintenance is a primary one i consider.. so suggest me which one to buy in 2018? City V or Ciaz ZXI+?
You are going to be chauffeured around huh,then I suggest you to go for the Ciaz...if you love driving the car and it’s engine then the city petrol is a no-brainer,Honda cars are very famous for their reliability and can last comfortably over 130000 kms without high maintenance(for ivtec only).
If you want a diesel then go for the Ciaz.Ciaz has better rear seats,better ride comfort,so Ciaz is my suggestion..pls let me know what you eventually bought.
Sporty. Higher speeds. Cornering. Confidence driving. Superb brakes. Premium drive and seating feel then city. But low on fuel economy and maintaice is on higher side.

with that budget i would suggest a hatchback like I 20 or baleno. If u want a sedan then definetly go for sx4.

Ciaz is definitely better than city... the presenter did not mention the heavy maintenance costs of Honda as compared to Maruti Suzuki. Also the Ciaz is 1 lakh Rupees cheaper than its respective variant from Honda.

Joe Pradeep Not for me. The City has a significantly more powerful engine, more engaging car to drive and better handler. Besides, reliability of Honda is next to none in the automobile industry.
@Autocar India Why don't you do a comparison of both the cars at this time? Now that the Ciaz has been updated and has a host of new features, maybe it tightens up the competition.

ciaz is the winner.i have it and I had took a test drive of these both cars before buying my ciaz .may be ciaz had 94 ps of power but it doesn't feel under power in the segment.

I prefer city. It is more durable. Maintenence cost may be high but no of breakdown is far smaller than maruti...I think people should more concerned about saftey than milage. Resale value is high for honda and toyota. I would never pick up a maruti..for me safty matters and not milage.

Ride Quality - Ciaz a little better (City seats are more comfortable)

The price shouldnt be an issue for anyone whos buying a car in this segment.

In after sales service, no one can beat Maruti.And it does matter,all will agree. All other car manufacturers' customer care services are bogus. Trained desi personnel with gulami mentality and not sure of finding another job just fake it out to you and frustrate you all the while.The hell with them. These unscrupulous buggers must be taught to respect us first.This factor along with the other so many (including mileage, of course) should be your guide.
