- It's finally finished! My detailed Sanctuary is done and before we hop off to build the surrounding settlements; I wanted to give you all a highly detailed tour.

Why not move Dogmeat's house into the small bunker by the greenhouse and decorate it with various doggy junk (i.e., dog dishes, baseballs, maybe a femur or two, etc.). Like a Dogmeat palace. Just an idea.

Wouldn't even have to be dog eat, he could use the dog crate and get a junkyard dog instead.

Best Sanctuary I have seen by far. This is amazing, and has inspired me to attempt building up Sanctuary. I personally used res rocket, but if I build sanctuary I can have a nice supply line set up, and two viable places a few steps away. Glad to see I am not the only one with a shrine to Atom in their settlement xD, keep up the good work bro.

Awesome little place you've created here! With my current play though I am, for the first time, putting some effort into my settlements. I accidentally came across your channel about a month ago, which is the sole inspiration for me to play through again :D I refer back here daily to check out what you've got to show and I'm never disappointing! I swear, every time I watch people make these amazing settlement builds, I always feel jealous, because I'm NOT the best architect and my settlement builds look plain or flat. Wish I had this kind of talent and patience.

Shaunagh Mulhall any time! It takes some trial and error with certain objects like the dumpster and some of the shops.

I really enjoyed that tour. You have done some incredibly creative things with the vanilla workshop assists. I hope that Bethesda gets the mod thing sorted out for PS4 soon because I can't wait to see what you do with mods.
I love the smaller detail in this settlement. Usually everyone makes sanctuary huge and bland. I'm really looking forward to seeing how you do the slums of your other sanctuary build!

Just WOW. I'm sure everyone's said it, but damn that's a labor of love. Amazing creativity and quality. I have hundreds of hours in this game and good portion of that was building I'm sure, so I certainly can appreciate this. Some questions that you or anyone here who may know feel free to chime in on (or not - I just can't look through 800 comments to see if it's already there) - did this go over the build limit and need the loop hole to get past that. If it did go way over, notice any bugs because of it? I feel like if I built any of my settlements with this much detail that they would start running with very poor fps. Maybe not though? I usually use OC decorator or some other mod that makes the items immovable - does it help performance if they are simply placed there manually outside of workshop mode.
Anyway. Beautifully done.
Will be so much fun to see what you will do when you get your hands on mods like Spring Cleaning, Place Everywhere, Settlement Supplies Expanded, Conquest - Build New Settlements and Camping, Snap'n Build and OCDecorator - Static Loot.
Hopefully you guys with consoles will be able to enjoy them also.

Love it Davey. Having built large expansive settlements, I find them hard to finish the details because of their size. I'm starting to prefer the smaller, more realistic settlements like this one and Tenpines. You have me wanting to start a 2nd character and take this smaller settlement approach and use my main save for when I have the itch to do something grand in scale.
Great settlement. Seeing your car in the driveway 😄 got me thinking. So I pushed that nice green car outside Red rocket to Sanctuary. lol looks good parked in the street.
What you have built here is absolutely incredible sir!!!! You have put a lot of time and effort and Sanctuary now truly captures a "rebuilt" settlement in a post-apocalyptic World. I do have one question. You keep mentioning how you did the floor glitch, or wall glitch...how is this done exactly, and well, what does it do exactly? If you could please explain how to do it, or point me in the direction of video with instructions on how to do it, I would greatly appreciate that :D. Thank you sir, and this is just amazing!
this guy is an amazing builder... I just finished my vault88 and it goes through the whole cave system but imagine what this guy can do
That is excellent. Fortunately for me there is a chap who made some mods for Sanctuary with the best player home there to date, neighbouring houses tidied up, and surrounded in junk fencing. It looks great. You may know him! BTW his other settlement mods look great as well, and they're in those awkward building areas which is ideal for me coz I never really came up with anything good for those places, it was always "That'll do".

Amazing digs!! Really the attention to details! One recommendation - if you will mention spoilers in your commentary, a nice warning in the beginning would've helped :( Just picked up the game and still going through the story, so you called out some spoilers that really ruined it for me. Other than that, awesome awesome build mate!

FYI Davey - you could do the door switches by using the conduit switch on the inside of the door, connect it to a through-wall connector conduit section and then a normal switch outside connected to the door, it's much easier and faster to do, plus it looks neater!

All I can say is holy shit. Like, HOLY. SHIT. The shops, the walls, the gate... Everything looks so fucking amazing that it actually makes me die a little inside knowing I'll never have settlements looking THIS good. Ugh.
You've played so much FO4 that you aren't even surprised by a cow popping out of nowhere any more. I envy you.
Heeey it's the car moving technique that I waste huge amounts of time doing for fun. I was using the empty wooden crates and pushing the crates with a shovel or a broom, and thus pushing the car with the crate with the broom. The minigun is going to be super useful now.
btw you can scrap cars you push into your settlements once you push them within the boundary. ;^)

For the garage door at the entrance, you can use your 'powered door with two switches' technique on that door so you can close it on both sides!

Love this shit. Definitely going to use it as inspiration for my sanctuary build. One question though, i had already scrapped pretty much everything in sanctuary there was to scrap because I needed materials. Is there a good way that you recommend to fill up those blank house spaces?

This is a beautiful build. I'm just now understanding how much patience it must take because I'm trying to add the floors/roofs to a house in sanctuary using one of your previous videos and the very first time I tried it it turned green and I placed it but it was slightly off so I took it out and tried again and ever since then I can't get it to turn green at all. I have one build mod that I'm going to delete just in case, but it could also be XBox frustration.

It's gonna be so cool when mods come to Ps4 and you'll be able to play with OCDecorator. It can make junk static so settlers wont knock shit around. It is So good.

OCDecorator won't be for consoles, BUT if you get Place Anywhere you can make items static.

Hey Davey, love all your videos! Have kinda a dumb question but how did you get that door on the workshop house?? I've been trying for hours now and I think I'm losing my mind
This is the thing I love about Fallout 4. People complain about the role playing and decisions not affecting the game world but the role playing in terms of your character build and now settlements too is something Bethesda has done great with.
you can sick potted plants into the ground there so settlers wont grow them but they will still be bared int the ground.

How do you manage that all the junk keep its position? Or did they fixed it?
I tried it once, month ago and the result was a total chaos because whenever I got back at the cell the junk was never there, where I placed it.
I remember that I place some stuff on the table like a fork, knife and a plate. They always dropped through the table.
Stuff that was placed in a shelf never kept its position... and now I see all your stuff which confuses me a slightly bit^^
I believe it was patched in patch 1.5, as it works, but settlers can knock them over
i don't know if this also works in FO, but i had a similar issue in skyrim (hearthfire DLC). the solution was:
a) drop the item(s)
b) leave the cell
c) get back into the cell
d) grab the item(s) and place them where you want them to be
this worked for almost all items in skyrim with only very few exceptions.
how do I get the power armor displays? I downloaded the workshop add on & finished all of vault 88's initial quest's. I've been told it's under display, but I've gone through every section of my crafting & I can't find any of the new items. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Awesome settlement by the way.
The power displays are in Decorations- Display and find the one that says Power Armour Racks. Pretty easy to find.
I realise you probably all ready you know this but you don't need workshop you need contraptions
Dannnng this is pretty impressive!!
What I've done is scrap everything on the way to my small sanctuary and put down diamond city style scaffolding ramparts along the road. It definitely fills up the spaces left by scrapping and gives it a fortified and safe atmosphere.

Die Ideen, die du hier präsentierst, der Gesamteindruck deiner Siedlungen machen mich wahnsinnig neidisch und treiben mich immer weiter an, es immer und immer wieder zu versuchen. Obwohl das Spiel selbst mir allzu oft erzählen will "Nope, ist nicht drin, Kumpel!"

When you get mods, there is a mod called DIY Clutter, which adds static clutter to bookshelves that you can place. It is very handy to make areas feel more lived in without having to manually place every single piece of junk.

Hey man, how'd you get the copper wiring to go through the walls of your houses in order to light up your coloured lights?
If you attach the wire to stuff outside, you can glitch that item wherever you want and it still works.
