    That you use the root and the berries together! Castor oil is the best to get nitric oxide to dilate all the tubes in your body as well as help the lymph disinfect. A lot of info out there on it. It truly heals. I’ve witnessed it personally. Thanks for this video.

      I heard castor oil has been used as a long term contraceptive. Is that true? Does it make you temporarily infertile?

    Hmm I know what poke weed is. I heard people eating it when it's young I believe boiled maybe the typical 10 minutes but heard it's poison when it get the red stalk. I seen it young with the red stalk it's been one plant I definitely know of but I just don't know enough about. Would like to learn more about it after now watching the video

      amzn.to/3A0RmXb Check out this book. A Modern Herbal by Mrs. M. Grieve. It comes in 2 volumes, but I linked only the 2nd volume, which contains info on Poke. Poke was used extensively by Native American Indians. A potent medicine- that should be used only after training and guidance. Topical is most frequent use of application for all kinds of skin abnormalities.

    Thank you for your video. I am wandering if I can also make tincture using berries, stems and leaves of the pokeweed. Thanks for the answer

    • @SheepHillHerbs
      @SheepHillHerbs  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hi Samudra, I made my tincture with the root and berries. You can use the stems and leaves as well. Remember though Poke is a very powerful medicine. I recommend only making it if you feel a "call" to do so, and then it is a few drops at a time. I take about 7 a day, but started with just 1 to 2. I am noticing a release of some congestion I had for years. Thanks!

    I have poke berries all over my property. When is the best time to make this tincture? This past year I was prescribed DMARDS (humira) after 3 months cause my lymphnodes in my neck to enlarge. I have since stopped that stuff!!! I was thinking of using this to get it moving??
    Also I made black walnut tincture! Thank you!

    • @SheepHillHerbs
      @SheepHillHerbs  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Late summer, early fall is best. Poke definitely moves the lymph. You can actually apply a poultice topically (to your neck). Another "milder" herb is Mullein. MULLEIN is fabulous for glandular issues and you can use much more, be liberal with it. Also rebounding on a trampoline moves lymph. Here is a link for Mullein if you want to try this herb. amzn.to/3cdkYXI

      It can be toxic...depending on the person, and the amount. It is an emetic. Use topically unless working with an experienced Herbalist. Seen it work wonders though! You need to be called by the plant to work with it. 🌾

      Most of my tinctures are not exact recipes. Mainly I put the herb in the jar, if it is fresh plants like the poke root and poke berries, then I fill up about 3/4's of the jar with the fresh plant, and then I usually add an inch or two of distilled water and then the rest is vodka. I use SKYY usually. 80 proof. I used one bunch of berries, the rest was all root.

Si eres nuevo en las hierbas, no sugeriría. Es avanzado, y debe trabajar con una persona capacitada si usa este.

    So....I understand this tincture does not need the berries... Does adding the berries add to its potency? Also, does it matter if the cut up roots remain in the tincture or not...?

    • @SheepHillHerbs
      @SheepHillHerbs  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      It does not "need" the berries. Quite frankly I haven't seen anyone use them. I use my intuition and wanted to add them for color, and yes, potency- plus fruit contains aspects the root does not have. I only left all the pieces of plant in the tincture for 2 weeks and then strained it off. Thanks!

    • @path-finder1
      @path-finder1 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@SheepHillHerbs Our intuition is how great things are discovered...! I like the idea of adding the berries ... If I may also say, adding the info of straining the tincture, and the fact of using your knowledgeable intuition within your video's would add depth to your instruction and so may increase your followings... You have great possibilities going forward... Keep working on making it all it can be! :)
