I've been wanting to cover The Rains of Castemere from Game of Thrones for a long time and thought I'd give it a bit of a music box treatment. Call it a requiem for a despicable character as well as for a series that completely sh*t the bed in its final seasons.

@xBattleFire well, that's not entirely true. Jon wouldn't have become a khal, he should have died. The blood riders don't only die after their khal dies. The more important part is that they have to avenge their khal, so they all had to try and kill jon. Instead they just walked past him like nothing happened. One of the many disappointments of the season imo

@Jake M. I assume it's about anyone's interpretation of the song. I mean the above lyrics about rains weeping over halls remind me of that scene where the throne room is destroyed its snowing a feeling that our hearts are empty just like the room and the tragedy is that the one thing standing is the reason of all the suffering then it says not a soul will hear obviously because many people in Kings Landing are ash by then.Script aside the scene was so major to me because of the emotions it brought.Perhaps someone else thought something entirely different

And here I thought it was in Season 5 that they butchered the Dornish sub-plot and characters (the first episode of Season 6 is basically its Red Wedding). And where the atheist Stannis (reluctant to burn anyone) burned his daughter and heir (in the books, he actually made a contingency plan to make her queen if he fails and dies). And where "Euron" first appeared. Seasons 7 and 8 merely continued the decline. Season 8 wasn't the Red Wedding of GOT, but Cersei's arrest: the ultimate conclusion of a reign characterized by incompetence, decadence, stupid senseless plots, and decline...

Kirkos Games go look back at the stills of the show. Actually watch the acting. Yes the cinematography was the best in tv history. And in case you forget, they had those mistakes (water bottles etc.) in all the seasons, people right now just have nothing better to do than to look for those mistakes so it’s more obvious now. For me I actually paid attention to the acting and the cinematography instead of trying to pick out a water bottle thats hidden behind somebody’s leg. Those people (which I assume you are one of) are pathetic and need to get a life. Because no way in hell did they find those things when they first watched it without having to go back to make sure.

Jordy I think Robb Stark was a pretty blank slate. Just a generic war hero. He definitely added a ton to the show, and he definitely died at the perfect time
@@guthriehartsfield9499 Thats why I said the coolest and not the best character ;) I also have to agree that he died at the perfect time but also would have loved to see more of him, especially because all his big battles against the lannisters were skipped due to low budget.
@@ImJordi Robb's battles were also skipped in the books because he wasn't a POV, Catelyn was his closest POV but he send her away most of the time. We only kind of got the Whispering Wood but from afar.

Guthrie Hartsfield I feel like that’s what he conveys himself as, but him as a character could’ve gone much deeper. He has flaws we know of too. The sad thing is his death affected everything, and everyone. In a negative way. As far as story goes yes he died at the right time

This is exactly how I feel after this season. It's just sad. just... just horribly sad. They ruined the houses and the characters. At least we will always have the most amazing music and lore.
Sad to see a lot of people agree on this point. I personally liked the season. Although I must agree that it wasn’t the best, I feel as though everything that happened had to happen in order to lead to the final moments. Bran being king is the weirdest part for me but other than that the storytelling was amazing, the Daenerys x Drogon scene was so sad but the wheel is finally broken, there is no more throne. This is the finale that was promised
Robb Stark was everything a King should be...
That's what that show is all about. What should a king look like ? Who can be THE boss ? And that's also why the end is incredibly amazing. Because it gives us an incredibly sad but true answer : no one.

Season 1-6 was like the start of the wedding, exciting and a breath of fresh air
Season 7 is when you start to realise something is wrong
Season 8 is the moment the Rains of Castamere stops playing
Personally I realised that something is wrong on season 5 when Littlefinger gave Sansa to the Boltons. That's dumb! Sansa is a key to the North, one of seven kingdoms. Petyr (who wants to become a king, remember it) just gave this key as a gift yo those who already have one!

The more I think about Robb’s death the more depressing it is. I don’t think he was a great character or anything, he was good for moving the plot along but that was about the extent of it. But man, he filled me with so much HOPE. I really believed in him when I was watching the show. He was the King in the North, the Young Wolf. He won every battle and still lost the war. It just broke me up inside.
RIP Game Of Thrones, the character who died for it to end like this. RIP the people who named their children after Daenarys or got a tattoo from her. RIP D&D’s appreciation from me. I want to thank plot armor and D&D and the rushing mentality for ruining it for many people.

Wish I had never seen the ending of game of thrones season 8 truly it was THE BEST series ever for me. I was so excited and it was all crushed just like Jamie and his arc.

imo the song beinefits from being very linear, and only having 1 to 2 notes going at a time. I think that the scales could be cut for a simpler 1 note base line

A great house
Game of Thrones Blood Moon in 2020. They started shooting last week. The story is about First men who came to Westeros and have to fight the white walkers and the children of forest. And how the wall was created and the seven kingdoms.

ummm, dare I say it, but my ear is picking up a few wrong notes. after rewatching S3 the melody is rather fresh in my head.

The ending of GoT was actually well placed, it's all the stupid unrealistic people that believed that Dany and Jon would go off into the sunset, but forgot the whole thing is actually Game of Thrones.
I am a Lannister, and i felt the end fitting for Jaimie and Cersei as it truly showed the love they had for each other, people bitch and whine that he built up a defence over the series and the writers destroyed his arc. If you ever truly loved someone you would always end up back with them as they did, unless fearlessly resistant. Even Tyrion shed a tear for Cersei and her unborn, which just showed that an affection for her, even although she did things to him that he could not forgive.
The only bad writing i considered was the Knight king and how Dany still had an army, but other than that and the rushed season, (although the last episode was well timed) i consider the Season a success in moderate.
