Hey TIM , Just found a source for Orange 🍊 Beads, and Everything Else, save that awesome dubbing .... And Placed My order !!!!! Gonna Light - Up My STONFO Vice, with a slew of E-Z PT NYMPHS !! Thanks Brother Tim ✨💫✨ ✨🎣💫
Just found your station and love it , then I go to a LIFR meeting and you are giving the presentation, just have to say it was fantastic, so glad I found your Utube channel , very new to tying so your videos are very helpful, can tell your a teacher 👍 Thank You
Thanks, John, definitely a small world! I appreciate the support for sure. To keep it going, please forward this video to a few fly tying friends. Thanks again! Tim www.troutandfeather.com
I got up this morning and saw this video. I had about an hr before my buddy waa to pick me up. I tied up a few for each of us to try. When we got to the river it was very murky with only about a foot of visability. Three casts in I hooked up with a nice 18" brown. I think the orange bead helped with the clouded water conditions. We each ended up catching about 6 just on this Hot Spot Pheasant tail. Nice simple and effective tie. As a side note, I put the under wrap to pitch my tails too. Keep up the great videos, I always enjoy your content.
Thanks for the kind words, Tim, and SUPER glad they worked for you today! The videos are a ton of fun to make, all I ask is that you copy the link and forward to a few friends...keep the fun going! Tim www.troutandfeather.com
Oh no!! I have some links in the description for the materials. Feel free to use them, as I receive a small commission that goes toward making more videos. Thanks!
I love your enthusiasm and passion in your presentations. I fish most weeks for browns and rainbows down-under in NZ and consistently tie your patterns along with an international selection of other great fly-tier patterns. I only wish postage costs internationally were not so exorbitant as it usually doubles the cost of the product. Looking forward to the day when international travel allows another adventure in North America. Kind Regards.
Postage drives me crazy, John! I know, as many of my new books were sold internationally and I felt bad charging people the shipping cost. One day...hopefully! Tim www.troutandfeather.com
You're welcome, Mike, and I appreciate the kind words. All I ask in return is to copy the video link and share with a few friends. Thanks again! Tim www.troutandfeather.com
Thank you for another great pattern Tim. I’ll try a few design variations to see how it looks. As always, thank you for sharing dude. Always appreciated. 😊
You got it, dude, and I appreciate you taking a moment to say hi every video! So I'm curious, what kind of variations do you have in mind? Tim www.troutandfeather.com
You got it, Jerome, and let me know if you vary them at all. In the meantime, if you're able to share this video link with friends, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks again for the kind words! Tim www.troutandfeather.com
@@TimCammisa you know I haven’t. Usually tungsten, copper etc. But you know I’ve had a lot of luck with salmon and steelhead using a fluorescent lures, spinners and streamers. Never thought about using a pattern like this so I’m going to tie some of these, on a larger size hook and see what happens
Great tutorial Tim. I take a turn under all my tails maybe just more habit but I like them to stay slightly up. Really like the Semperfli wire and I just ordered that dubbing it looks fantastic.
You got it, Deb, though if I know you and your competitive side, you ALREADY have variations of this one stored away! ;-) Hope all is well...and here's to the AWESOME materials from Semperfli. Tim www.troutandfeather.com
I am not into euro nymphing as of yet. I do tie similar PT's though my favorite for this time of year is an # 18 tied the same way Frank Sawyer tied the fly- as for the wire, it's my go-to these days, or at least since I bought a spool of it three years ago. Heck, I just got around this year to actually buy a four-piece fly rod! I like quick-to-tie flies, because well if you are not losing flies you are not fishing deep enough. 6x is pretty much the sweet spot, not too heavy not too light. Lot of heavy rain events since mid-July, so my local streams are way above where they normally are for flows this time of year, and It's been warm. Need about a week with the over-nite lows in the low 50's at least.
Thanks again Tim. I will be putting this out there as an alternative to fall egg patterns in the Truckee river. I expect this to be way more fun. i always feel like i am cheating using yarn eggs. Even though they are readily gobbled up
My dad and I used to teach flytying for our trout unlimited chapter it's been a long time!!! I've thought many people how to Flyfish!!! The river across the highway from my house is fantastic! Big browns rainbows and brookies! The Hoosic great fishing! I grew up fishing the Battenkill eddgucated trout!!! ☺️ We used to go out and fish the yellowstone every year 22 times! Was awesome then!!!
Thanks for the kind words, Dennis! All I ask in return is that you share the link with a few of your friends to keep the fun going. Tim www.troutandfeather.com
You're welcome, Anablak, and thanks for taking a moment to comment. For the body, you can let it hang, though that depends on a couple things, such as the weight of your hackle pliers. With some materials, if you bump the materials while they're attached to hanging clips, they can come undone or become unruly. Each material and tool truly reacts differently. Hope that helps! Tim www.troutandfeather.com
