Fantastic tutorial! Your tips and tricks make underwater filming with the Insta360 X4 look so easy and fun. Keep up the great work! 🌊📸 Greetings from Portugal 🇵🇹
Was there a new version that improves underwater video after May? I went Egypt in May and dived and took my X4. I had everything set correctly including dive case mode and dive case stitching in the app and it still came out looking like it was filmed in 720p even though it was 8K I had turned on. Was not pleased.
Hi - no, no new version. What sharpness setting did you use? Try the following: sharpness at least set to medium. When reframing set the FOV to Mega and change FOV control in the Insta360 Studio App to around 80-85 when using a 16:9 format. You can then still add some sharpness in your editing software if necessary. You will see, it looks much better now. In the standard settings the FOV is too much zoomed in when using the dive case.
As me. When you zoom in, just a bit, the resolution is awfull. Everything that is not exactly in the center is completely blurred. Other divers, the reef, etc. In the beginning I thought, that my camera doesn't work properly, as the footage of the one x2, i had bevor, was defintely way better. The support said: in order to provide better underwater stealth and underwater stitching effects, the diving case of X4 has been adjusted compared to X2, and the clarity may be slightly weaker than X2. Unfortunately the stiching doesn't work properly too, which makes the invisibility feature of the case kind of useless. It might get better in the future due to firmware updates, but currently i can't recommend the x4 to divers at all. I am very disappointed..
Same for me. Was really disappointed. On that dive I saw several sharks and turtels but the video was not usable because of the bad quality. Had to switch back to my old Gopro 8 for the rest of the holliday.
Great video! I just placed my order for the x4 invisible dive bundle today and still wondering for deep dives with low light is there any solution for a light gear to be used that would be suitable for a 360 camera? Appreciate your input.
I have camera insta 360 ×4 when i get the camera in some cover I see twice . How can i fix it ? And another question whice mode you recommend to take record under the water? Thank you
Very interesting, this video is in the nick of time. Just starting out with the X4 and my three week vacation is coming up with snorkeling and diving. The floating handgrip is more for when you are in single lens mode, right?
Great video! I'm interested in how you used it underwater without a case. There are so many posts about how their X4/X3 died instantly on the first dip even in the bath for testing. It kinda makes me nervous while my X4 is already on the way here
Hi - the X4 is waterproof up to 10m without a case - but personally, since I have the dive case I always used it together with the case. But I've used the X3 without the case and didn't have problems. Be sure to close the battery door and the USB door properly and wash it thoroughly after use in salt water.
@MountMediaChannel thanks! I've already went a bit overbudget. Originally I planned to get the Dji Action 3 or GoPro11 for my gfs birthday but decided that I want to get her something more interesting for her travel videos. Going to try and convince her friends to get the underwater case too
@MountMediaChannel what do you recommend, or what is recommended for the rinsing method and duration of the camera after using under water? cuz i wanted to go about it like this: film normally with the camera outside of the water around the place I'm gonna be diving in, then dip it in the water a bit to get a transition shot, and then put it in the case to do diving shots - all in the same day. is that possible? do i need to wash and dry the camera with a towel after dipping it thwt first time, and before putting it in the case? what do you think? (thank you for the awesome and relevant x4 videos btw, big fan of your style)
great hands-on material, insightful tips and thorough presentation! i feel like you really care about your viewers who are also possible x4 users haha now... when you mentioned including a subject in your shots, you said the subject should be at least 1 meter away from the camera; if not, they may appear blurry. and i wanted to ask, is that the case only for underwater filming? or is a general problem for the x4? cuz now i am worried haha, is its focus distance not very good for closeups then? cuz i saw it does pretty well in "vlog style" single lens shots hmmm....
Hi - the dive case makes the shots look a little more blurry than usual - but you should know that theses cameras have a focus which is fixed to infinity - so subjects very close to the camera may always look a bit out of focus.
I find the quality of the recordings disappointing. Blurred towards the edges and you can see the stitching line in some situations. I have read that in good light conditions and if you are only snorkeling you can take good pictures without the replacement housing - is that true?
I‘m the first time with the camera and the dive case in the sea. I‘m very disappointed because I can’t start or stop the video. The button works so bad. Today the dolphins where so close and I couldn’t start the video. I think I can’t do anything wrong, or? Anybody have a idea what the problem is? Think about to try it tomorrow without the dive case.😏
Bad idea. It will take too much time and use space. I upscaled a 20 mb video to 4k and the final file was 800mb. Best to shoot in 8k and use a premiere pro plugin to slowndown the footage.
Hi! I bought this camera in part thanks to this video, but when I uploaded it to youtube, my image is nothing like yours, I used 5.7K 60bps th-cam.com/video/A-O6MH9doNc/w-d-xo.html any advise? Location Puerto Vallarta, depth ~15-20 Meters
Hi - interesting video. Sometimes the footage looks sharp, sometimes it's really blurred. Does it look like this on your PC as well or just after uploading to YT?
Thank you for such a great and precise video! Definitely the best tutorial I could find on TH-cam ❤
What about audio settings? I noticed some unusual sound while setting up case, although it was in my room, not under water.

@@MountMediaChannel Ok thanks for this.
@@garobi Yea was expecting more from it to be honest since it’s brand new.

Hi - just use the normal video mode underwater but don't forget to activate the dive case in camera
Very interesting, this video is in the nick of time. Just starting out with the X4 and my three week vacation is coming up with snorkeling and diving. The floating handgrip is more for when you are in single lens mode, right?
Yes, exactly
can you please do the same video for the ace pro?

Could you connect your insta360 camera to your Mac/pc using third-party cables?
Yes of course
Wonderful video, thank you
Did you used/tried the 3m stick underwater?
No just the 114cm stick or the action stick
Top quality tips and info! Thanks
Awesome tipps! Thanks a lot!
Looks like Malta/Gozo?

Without the dive case? Yes, but not in 360 mode
8k/60 drains battery like crazy and overheats constantly.

I always use the dive case when scubadive and have no problem with it, maybe you have not turn to dive case mode yet?
The dive case is too expensive but i guess i would have to buy😢

Shoot in 5.7 60p and upscale it to 8K with Topaz Video AI.

@@abeerik5591 So it sounds like there is a plugin for interpolation? I use PP and have not seen this.
we can do whatever we want, but underwater it's not as good as the gopro, even with the case

Yeah the "Invisible" Selfie Stick is not visible, but then people are left looking stupid with their hand sticking out, making a fist..
why my insta360 x4 still got stiching line even though i already use invisible dive case 🥹🥹 any idea??
Did you activate it correctly?
