    Great video, but I didn't understand the "problem" at 00:02:15 . When you are filming, what the camera sees is displayed on the screen facing you, correct? Can you confirm? If anyone could flesh out this problem a little more so I understand if it would be an issue for me, I would be really grateful!

      In certain settings on the Action 4, such as 4k-60, the live view of what you are filming is only available on one screen or the other. So, basically you have to pick which screen shows the video. This was upgraded on the Action 5 Pro though.

    Hello. It is a capacitive touch screen, and the touch screen function is suppressed.

    Thank you for the informative suggestions and tips. I just purchased this camera on the weekend and gave it a fun test on a jetboat ride and later in a pool to see the underwater quality. It was amazing, very happy and also a nice sunny day for it. The quality amazed me, and this after learning I had recorded in full HD at 30 fps and not at 4K and 120fps like I thought I chose. Even the screenshots taken with the VLC player and using frame by frame or slo mo with it were exceptional.
    I made sure to select 4K and 120 fps for a quick test vid and couldn't really notice any big difference in quality, but the file size increases 4x as much. Full HD was about 225mb for a minute and the 4K at 120 fps was just over 900mb for a minute.
    Did you notice much difference in quality with your underwater shots if you tried the full hd versus the 4K at 120 fps?

    • @Bororoish
      @Bororoish 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Depends where you watching the clips,on a small screen or on a phone you wouldn't really notice the difference but on a 4k TV the video is more crisps and with more detail

    • @dv4251
      @dv4251 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@Bororoish Yes I think those with the younger eyes than myself can spot such details, lol. I watch it on my 4K big screen and I really have to look hard tbh. I find both look amazing so for me it's hard to justify the 4x larger file size at 4K and 120fps. Really enjoying playing around with it so far though. Doing a vacation soon so looking forward to trying it for snorkeling and capturing the ocean life.🙂

    Wow thx very much for this video ! I have the Action 4 and will buy the 5. For me, i still detected a defect on the 4 which I hope will be corrected on the 5; when I'm in the sea, snorkeling, the quality is impressive but... From time to time, the color turns green, before recovering within 10 to 20 seconds... Which never happens on gopro. As a result, I have to modify the colors of these "moments" on my editing software. On the internet, they say it's because of the front sensor which constantly adapts, and which the gopro doesn't have. We have great quality underwater, better than GoPro, but from time to time, it sucks as explained... Too bad.

    what's your underwater ev exposure settings & shutter speed?

    • @Canuck2112
      @Canuck2112 วันที่ผ่านมา

      came here for the same answer. I don't see any videos talking about this, so possible folks are just using AWB and default shutter speeds?

    • @Dave2Con
      @Dave2Con วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      You will want to go with auto on these, If you're using the dive housing you cant add ND to the camera so Auto shutter is best here. (i also wouldnt advice using ND on the camera underwater without a housing, the space between the lens and ND will flood) and you'll also want to use auto WB to take advantage of the OSMO's inbuilt colour temperature sensor. Just avoid long shots with significant lighting changes or you might get some weird colour shifts as the sensor adjusts.

    Hi i am a scuba diving blogger that use my gopro 9+ a lot for my Instagram account. i truly love the action 5 but it is really not clear if i should use red filter with the underwater case or not? also where to buy it ? i contacted DJI and it is look like they don't have much details. they just told me that i need filters for scuba but they don't sell them . i think DJI need to do better work on explain this point for divers ...

      @@Matthias-ef8yg apparently, you do not need a filter . but after investigating and checking many reviews i decided to buy the Insta 360 Ace pro 2 . but i believe the DJI is extremely similar and very good camera . i have a diver friend that had amazing videos with the Insta 360 and also the low light advantage lead ne to buy the Ace pro 2. i am creating a lot of content and i don't have time for editing and this look like the right thing for me . but lets see when i actually use it ...

    I have been really impressed with the Action 4 underwater. I’ve had it on a wreck at 35m and on shallow reefs…the auto WB is amazing. When filming in 4k/120 the export is in slo-mo which has to be removed on whatever device you export to. This is a bit of a nuisance.

      Thank you for the feedback! Glad to hear you are happy with the quality. I've been impressed too. It may be your player that is playing the 120 FPS videos back in slow motion. When I edit them in Premiere or Davinci, I have to edit them into slow motion, regardelss of the frame rate. A lot of the players, automatically recognize the frame rate and will play them in slow motion. Maybe that is whats happening?

    Hi, I have a DJI Osmo Action 4, which I mostly use for scuba diving and I've watched a few of your videos. I use the protective dive case at all times, but this prevents me from being able to adjust the zoom, which I've found frustrating...is it possible to program / save a zoom of 2 when saving the settings? Thanks in advance.

    Due to high water pressure, shutter/record button is disabled automatically. Press Quick Switch button to start or stop recording
    diving mode
    How can I disable it?

    • @JordanHetrick
      @JordanHetrick  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Diving Mode can be turned on or off manually by holding down on the Shutter Button for 5 seconds. However, it is turned on automatically when the underwater pressure pushes on the Shutter Button. You can then use the side QS button to start and stop recording.
      If you want to avoid this, you can use the Dive Case for deeper dives.
      Hope that helps!
