  • Hello Humans!
It has been some time, but here is another quote from our beloved admiral explaining pride. I hope after all this time you will enjoy this video full of wisdom :)
Enjoy the lore of our grand admiral Grand Admiral Thrawn.
This time I tried to get the voice of Thrawn from the rebel series. It still needs some little improvements but I hope you will like it :)
    Enjoy everyone!

Love how you got video of 'your overconfidence is your weakness' when Thrawn is talking about it.

Well, Thrawn does love art; so "collage" might be right up his alley. He' also be a great college professor, yes.

Yeah, I can totally see Thrawn saying this.
I still remember reading the Thrawn trilogy & Captain Peleon was surprised when Thrawn called for an organized retreat. (after unforeseen complications caused his plans to steal a bunch of Republic capital ships to bolster his navy, failed)
Thrawn admonished the Captain saying he would not throw away Imperial lives just to soothe his own ego. The mission failed. He accepted that. Time to end the battle.
I think I mostly remember it because there was a line at the end like; "At that moment Captain Peleaon realized, in his deepest core, that the old Empire was dead. And a New Empire, with Admiral Thrawn at its head, was born."
    (cool line)
It also reflects my philosophy that the "7 deadly sins" only BECOME 'sins' when they, like anything else, are taken to unhealthy EXCESS!
Low levels of Lust results in; attraction, pair bonding, and spawning the next generation.
Low levels of Wrath result in; discipline, punishment, and justice.
    And HERE you explained Pride.
    And so on.

I like these, even with another voice it sounds like something Thrawn would say. And let's be honest. Many of the Thrawn quotes are basic things we all should know yet we don't, be it by lack of being educated in them by our respective school systems, our famillies or our own inability to reach the understanding on our own.

    • @StarWarsBengels
      @StarWarsBengels  ปีที่แล้ว +6

Exactly, they are lessons altough basic still very true when practised in real live

I feel the reason for this is that from early on in life we are often trained by our parents and society generally to avoid looking at things exactly as they are. This happens for various reasons, a major one being simple fear and non-acceptance. Children inherit the avoidance patterns of their parents. Our perception is always buried to one degree or another in layers of unreality. What Thrawn is saying here comes across almost self evident when you hear these words strung together so eloquently - a precise understanding is conveyed - but the reason we don't perceive the truth of these words ourselves till often times much later in life is because among the general populace the ability for critical and rational thought has been retarded. Straight reality is difficult to look at most of the time, so many of us live in completely fabricated internal worlds that are completely detached from truth and life.

Did you use an AI voice for this or an actual voice actor?
If it’s an AI I’d really love to listen to Robert Greene’s 33 Strategies of war but in Thrawn’s voice, that’d be epic!!

This is a general rule of thumb that I use when I realize I'm slipping into overtly prideful territory. Usually, my first judgements on people, negative or positive, are usually wrong. So, I withhold vocalizing my judgements until I am proven wrong. The hardest part is, when I do, I feel guilt and remorse for having those feelings if the person in question is actually of a good standing character. In this sense, guilt can save a person rather than condemn them. Because if you think about it, rivals are formed on this basis alone, when they could've proven to be great friends if the judgmental person in question replaced observation with opinionating.

I actually thank this fictional man for this breakdown of these issues almost completely; the problem involved herein is that you actually *can* have true humility having fruits that're really infinitely worse; as you downplay your own assets, you end up truly hateful of anyone at all you'd see as superior to yourself and who's missing some basic detail you yourself have- that's kind of what Dr. Jordan Peterson would dub the *worst* of all worlds, even to referring to that kind of situaiton as duking it out against the *actual* devil itself.
