Do a video analyzing older rich men who pursue young women knowing they are only interested in their wealth/assets. I find it interesting that people agree to have relationships with people knowing they are paying for time and affection. Enjoyed the vid as always!

Honestly I think they don't care about having a genuine relationship. They just want the benefits of having a beautiful young woman on their arm. It gives them a kind of social status.

There is such thing as companion care for nursing home residents being offered by ethical care givers who get hired on by relatives who would never agree to any kind of sexual activity together other than maybe one way glances where a person should not be looking with the nursing home resident and would never be accepting of a marriage proposal from any of them when the nursing home resident stars imagining that the reason for the visit to them in a nursing home is because they are in love with them.

I genuinely think the men do not care at all. And I think it has to do with the overall psychology of men versus women. However, if the woman dumps him, then they feel used, but as long as the woman makes him feel good, keeps her looks, flatters him and acts submissive most men consider it a win.

@Crunchy Some women... Not me... I'm interested in how I'll treated, not what material things I'll get. If they are both adults and have an agreement, more power to them.

Yep, I thought the same thing when I saw one of her episodes. The last one was when her psychiatrist was reportedly in it and filming her. I can't remember all the details as this was very long ago but Anna Nicole was heavily under the influence of drugs and I remember turning off the tv because it pissed me off that no one was helping her and instead they were exploiting her. I can have a pretty dark sense of humor but I draw the line at things like that and can tell you that what they were doing to her was absolutely not funny. You don't treat a human being that way. She was in need of genuine concern for her well-being and in need of rehabilitative treatment. Those around her failed her.

REDLADY 1982 yes, of course they did. I couldn’t watch but I would think the people who did either adored her for some strange reason, or it was like driving by a car wreck and not being able to look. There was nothing interesting in that show, she either acted drunk, or high, or like an idiot, or all three together. People said it was an act...who knows. But the show’s extreme popularity was the beginning of me starting to think WTF is wrong with people in this country if this is what they see as entertainment? Kind of scary.

REDLADY 1982 I didn’t find her to be all that beautiful, unless she was sober and made up, then she looked good. For most of the show, she just shuffled around her house, looking sloppy and bloated and wasted and whining non stop. And then all those vultures hanging around her. Yes, she was used. And she didn’t seem all that bright to me. Had a young son witnessing all this and a refrigerator full of big bottles of methadone. Shame on her and shame especially on the doctors who were also in the show and acting like her pals, while prescribing her all that crap, and shame on the network that goaded it all on.

I really appreciated this. I remember when Anna Nicole Smith was in the news a lot in the weeks before she died. Television channels were showing one program after another about her life and death, and I remember thinking how tragic her life had always been, despite her flashy persona. She seemed never to have known happiness. She was always angling for what she could get, which made it impossible for any of the people in her life to really know her. So many relationships without intimacy. I think that she thought her looks were all she had to give that anyone would value. Your analysis gave a much more insightful view of why she lived her life the way she did.

@@KC1up It is just so easy to end up using drugs in order to 'explain' and cope with your miserable life than TO TRY (at least, to try) to do the actual work meaning, working on yourself for improvement and change so that you and others that are part of your life won't suffer in the future. But such work takes self consciousness and the right amount of willingness and motivation so much that I dare to say she just lacked these skills. She fell in the same trap that so many do - drugs; while living a dangerous life, moreover a life she just exposed to the public for money and fame. Nothing to be admired of or paid for. But society rewarded her for her troubled past and the lifestyle she chose.

I don't think there was technically anything wrong with her mental health. I think she she was a sad classic case of what happens to young beautiful girls who unfortunately had no guidance and up brining. I remember watching her life story after she passed and it was pretty clear she was left to take care of her self as a young teen and no one really cared about her getting an education. Its only natural that she relied on the only thing people probably noticed about her to survive. Her youth, beauty, and sexuality. Unfortunately youth and beauty only last so long. Like Marilyn Monroe, who also died by overdose in her late 30s, she started circling the drain once her "assets" depreciate. She had no other true skills to fall back on.

I think the death of her son was a huge factor in her death. She was absolutely devastated and really frail. I think she made an effort to pull herself together to take care of her newborn but she really needed a mental health professional to treat her for her depression. She probably went overboard with the drugs at the end to self-medicate because she couldn’t handle the despair. She may have been controversial and acted like a fool but I do think she loved her children and her son’s death was just too much for her.

Anna Nicole used to refer to her elderly husband as "Paw Paw". I think she genuinely loved him like a father, because he doted on her and spoiled her beyond excess. I don't think she'd ever had a father figure in her life, so this might explain her devotion (in addition to the more practical matter of the $$$$$$$$). As far as the old gent is concerned, it's apparent from the numerous pictures of them together that he was clearly smitten. It appears she made him very happy. So who's to say. Worked out for both of them I guess.

There used to be an ad campaign for a brand of cigarettes, maybe Camel, and I eventually realized the ads were based on Anna Nicole Smith and J. Howard Marshall. On a billboard there was a very old man in a black leather outfit made for someone far younger and with the man was a voluptuous young blonde-haired woman. The text said, [Brand name], it's a trophy smoke". Another later billboard showed the same couple with the man in more conservative clothes and the young woman in a low-cut wedding gown and leaning forward as she's about to bite into a piece of wedding cake. The text said, "She's marrying me for my money. Like I care". ----Dr. Grande, that lines up closely if not exactly with the possibility you mentioned in your video.

Why were her kids in daycare if she didn’t work? And how could her husband support the family and pay for daycare on a Best Buy (or something like that) salary? Why have the authorities completely clammed up about this case? The Papinis seem to have disappeared off the face of the earth 🤷🏼‍♀️

Anna seemed to be trying to fill the emptiness that she probably felt inside, searching for happiness, and looking for approval from others, and for what most of us want: love. She may have cared for Howard (although not romantically) but she was also using him for his money. Howard was grieving the loss of his mistress and was lonely. I wasn't a fan of Anna Nicole but I had a lot of sympathy for her when she lost her son. I felt bad for Howard because his young wife couldn't (or wouldn't?) be there for him like he needed her to be. Both of them thought that money could buy them happiness.
May Anna Nicole, Danny, and Howard all rest in peace. And may Dannielynn and her father both live full lives with true happiness as well. 🕯️🙏🕊️

Doc...your sarcasm outshines anyone else who even attempted to convey irony in such a matter of fact way...bar none!! You’re the type that could insult someone, directly to their face, in such articulate way coupled with a seemingly unbiased demeanor that they would probably thank you for the compliments. Keep in mind, the average school grade is a “C” cuz the average person is a lil thick on top. But for all those with any kind of natural wit and/or general intelligence would be bent over with side cramps from laughing so hard. I could listen to u all day. Absolutely hilarious!!!!

Great assessment, as always, Dr. Grande. Thank you.
Would you be willing to give your thoughts of the character Nurse Ratched, from One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest? I teach high school English and we read the book, and then watch the film. Her character always elicits lively discussion, and strong feelings about her role in the therapy group conflicts amongst patients, and the deaths of Billy and McMurphy.
I'd be excited to show my class your thoughts about her!!
    Thanks!

There was a video clip of Howard Marshall on Inside Edition or one of the entertainment shows In the video Marshall says he'll take care of her in his lifetime. He looks into the camera smirking as he says he'll take care of her as long he lives. I don't believe he intended for her to inherit any of his money. Had she and her son survived, he'd be 38 years old and she'd probably be a grandma now. Larry Birkhead should have gotten custody of Dannylynn, the daughter, even if Anna Nicole had survived. She was not capable of providing a stable support system for any child.

Excellent analysis. The battle over the inheritance reminds me of 'Bleak House' by Dickens: striving after a legacy that you think is yours can end in tragedy.

The dead pan expression as you said 'profound level after deep conversations about philosophy' then 'not an effective actress'.
    Such a troubled life.

I vaguely remember her autopsy report revealing Hashimoto’s Disease, which is autoimmune and can often go undiagnosed- leading to years of suffering without proper care. Hashimoto’s causes up and down fluctuations in metabolism based on the degree of thyroid gland distraction. They swing hyper to hypo. Patients who suffer with this often receive diagnoses of mood disorders, and it isn’t until the TSH increases (signifying acquired hypothyroidism) that practitioners will test for presence of the disease. I think with Anna Nicole Smith, her situation is much more complex than has ever been fully realized.

I'm curious what you think about some rappers' mental health, specifically XXXTENTACION. He's perhaps one of the most polarizing & controversial rappers of all time. Give a look in it as it may shock you. A video on him would be super interesting. Cluster B Personality traits over him.

I think Dr.Grande should do one on himself, where he does an examination/thought on himself where he talks about himself in the 3rd person
