I was somewhat skeptical of the Selective Yellow when I got the SS3 Pro’s. After having them almost 2 years, I won’t go back to white. Driving in bad weather is vastly better, especially snow since they eliminate the UV spectrum color that reflects off moisture on the road and in the air. Plus it helps with eye fatigue on long drives. I know some don’t care for the yellow look. But if you’re like me and prefer function over form, yellow is the way to go. Personally I like the aesthetics of the yellow contrast over OEM LED headlights.
I LOVE yellow fogs with nice white HID headlights. I think it looks so nice together! It's a shame manufactures don't make more yellow fogs. I just stumbled upon these and so excited to order and get them!
Thank you for this video!! LOVE It! Can't wait to order yellow!! This is going to look sweet on my little CT200h! What's even better is that you carry these and I can order my entire projector retrofit items I wanted AND the fog lights from you! one stop shop!!
...that depends on if you get bad/ugly wx where you live and drive. Do you do a lot of night driving and is it raining/snowing a lot at night? The elite optic should outperform an OE (reflector) fog light. As long as these lights illuminate the sides/lines of the road (white lines on gray pavement in the rain at night are incredibly hard to see), either color should work. Since they are fog lights, nothing wrong w/yellow. If you want to match, then the white should work; plus the white will appear brighter to the eye.
If they ever made a higher power variant i'd be the first one in line. Also I wish there was an option for either a white or amber backlight but that's just me nitpicking for aesthetic reasons.
I wired my amber feature to come on with switched 12v ignition to act as a DRL(Required by law in Canada), its subtle and keeps the piggies happy. As far as I know DRLs here just have to illuminate and don't have a minimum lux requirement.
Which wire did you tap your backlight in to for that. The videos here say the green wire on the headlight connector (2022 4Runner) but that’s only when the main headlight is on. Just curious what wire you used for that.
Can you show me how to install the DLR for the Elite series on Subaru Ascent? I bought the Elite series but I didn't attach the DLR wiring because I'm unsure where to connect it to. Didn't come with any instructions in the box.
Sorry dont have anything handy for that model. You would need to figure out which is the daytime running light or the parking light in the multi pin plug.
Any light assembly that is installed on a vehicle will require some fine tuning, This is normal and easy procedure with these. You can set to same height as stock as a baseline. They are on sale now! Link in the description.
White cut off looks amazing but I gotta go yellow. In your previous video you said the testing model was "Type T" That is what I need but I don't see any Type T listed on your site.
Sorry type T/B is used interchangeably Here you are lightwerkz.net/collections/diode-dynamics-elite-series-fog-lamps/products/elite-series-type-b-fog-lamps-yellow-pair-diode-dynamics

I would really like to have seen a bigger wall for the width and a compare of SS3 Max you have vs the elite. How is the Elite as compared to SS3 sport? Price point on them is comparable where Max is 2.5x the price. My son's Kia has SS3 sport yellow fog which are noticeably brighter than the Morimoto xB's in my daughters CRV.
Would have been cooler if they went actual amber like the morimoto xb amber fogs. Factory fit and bright ambers for the win. Paired with morimoto amber drl xb can’t be beat.
Actual amber would probably bring down the intensity even further. For example, the Morimoto XB fog lights in amber are lower intensity than stock halogen fog lights. I am glad you are happy with them though but personally feel this is a better option all around.
... selective yellow is better for inclement wx if you want to see vs just other ppl seeing you. 2900-3000 kelvin yello is better than the 2400-2500 Kelvin amber light. Sure the amber light looks nice, but I'll take just a bit warmer light to see better at night in ugly weather.

@@israel6642 not the same. DRL comes on when the car is on during the day. Whenever the lights aren’t on. Parking light function is usually half a bright as a DRL and on when the headlights are on.
While that seems like a nice feature because it’s two separate rows of led chips the output is never truly optimized. Installed a few of those switchable led bulbs in the past.

What’s the “recommended” adjustment height for aiming fogs? I installed my elite series last weekend and noticed a significant difference in visibility over factory but unsure if they’re aimed properly.
Best thing to do is mark the originals and set to same height for preliminary aim. From Daniel Stern lighting: Fog lamps - Up to 18" (46 cm) 1.5" (38 mm) 18.5" to 28" (47-71 cm) 3" (76 mm) 28.5" or higher (72 cm) 4" (102 mm)
Very easy on the Toyota's. Just peel back the fender liner, remove two screws, and its plug and play. Need to adjust. Figure 30 mins for both at the most.
The very fact that this is a question for drivers when there's a clear answer based on performance and known light physics shows how braindead the average LED headlights user is.

To adjust the aim a bit higher for a lowered vehicle, is it turning the Phillips screw left or right?? TIA
Clockwise to adjust higher
@@LightwerkzGlobal Thank you!
It's like you read my mind for this video. How well do the white elites match up to Osram CBI color temp? I'd imagine pretty well
Always yellow, you can see better and relaxes your eyes at night
Recently installed white on FK8 man the cutoff is really nice and definitely more focus then SS3 Sport

@mitch9521 Would you be able to tell us which wire you tapped in to? I am also in Canada and want to do this. Thanks!
I'd like to know how much brighter they are then my stock leds I'd pony up the dough if I knew they were substantially brighter

Those Headlights look sick!

Elite is most comparable to SS3 Sport in terms of intensity. Elite is a nice boost over the XB fogs.
The yellow version on the truck does it have the amber backlight option?
Yes, the Elite Series all come with amber back lighting.
Hey 👋 I have SS2 as ditch lights with the amber backlight on them, is it possible to tap in to those for backlight on elite?
Yes of course, you can use the same wire for the back light power feed. Let us know if you need help with a set!

Yes they include a wire tap and an extension with the kit to feed to the parking lights. VERY easy.

They technically meet beam pattern output requirements (F3 = ECE) but they need to go through type approval for the ECE certification.

No, not even close. You would end up with a washed out yellow color.

You need a circular polarizer to get past the glare. But you know that already. 😆😆😆
