I have found Mire Triton is really good at getting you to the midgame against red, gaining you a little life and trading with a goblin while also being proactive and milling is really efficient. I have tried 2 and brought it back up to 4 and found success. Also having 8 deathtouchers is really good against Terrors and other fatties.
No joke, as a value orzhov player mire triton has had me mesmerized as its just straight stacked as far as abilities to mana cost ratio. I’m not the best judge at this sort of thing though, as I really like the two mana 1/2 flash flier with the team buff stapled on. Imo it’s a great card, never hated drawing it but I just can’t bring myself to include it in brew these days
In this league you may have noticed that red really wasn't my issue. Both Maverick and Triton both have their minute benefits and I think different people will have different preferences. I think if you want to go 4 exhume, Maverick is the way to go though.
I bought a playset of exhumes because of ur video, this deck better be good lol On a serious note, i think the maverick and snarling gorehound could be utilized in a golgari gardens/gates deck. The gorehound has menace, and that's nice for gates, both of them are 1 drops with card selection. I could see a golgari gardens deck that switches the artifacts for creatures like guildsworn prowler or elvish visionary/dusk legion zealot. The creature sack spells are also 1 mana less than bargain or offering Love the vids, cheers
I take no responsibility for your purchases 😅 I did have an old video on golgari gates, could try the Maverick and gorehound in a more creature heavy version of that deck. I think with gorehound you want a decent amount of cards that work in the GY so that it can act as pseudo card advantage.
@@Kirblinxy You can keep one landers way more reliably without quirion and late game if you draw 2 lands you usually die so surveil makes it way more consistent, and you still stomp mono red just as hard as before
Imo you didn't play it bad at all versus Gardens game one. They just had that one turn when they drew and played Bog which obviously wasn't in their hand since you tried to lure it out. They also drew three of their four Rats in the first turns of the game so there really wasn't much to do.
The gardens player watched this vid and said they had the Bog from their opening hand and they were trying to find the best time to deploy. Unsure if they played it at the best time, but it was good enough for them to get the W.
Man, if pauper has a secret powerhouse card that people have simply over looked / over brewed for (I should say treating it like an archetype instead of pure value) it’s exhume. I’m desperately trying to come up with a midrange list that simply uses exume and nihil spellbomb together + a bog or two. Honestly it’s probably not the be all end all, but I’m trying to brew up something that just exhumes goliath paladin and avenging hunter with a list full of discard and strands.
I felt like half the time I had to cycle for a tapped land so I couldn't play something on turn 2 anyway. It's not about playing them on turn 1. It's being able to easily doublespell in later turns.

i bought this deck and i can suggest you to play "Grisly Salvage" to restart in case the graveyard gets exiled. Also, I suggest Mire Triton.
salvage isnt very good for a vew reasons, but mainly it isnt a creature for gnaw to the bone, exhume, or dread return

1st round is always "tapped land" (literally or land cycling), so I don't like rubblebelts
