I wonder if you swap red for black for more draw and better removal and more bargain targets. Ramp with green instead of cleansing wildfire. Maybe aboreal grazers early reach and ramp. Thanks for the vid.
-2 emergence, +1 kenku, +1 hunter/hydra?
I think you need more draw cards, Kirb Keeping bolts in hand maybe to remove creatures or finish the game isnt ok imho. If you draw more resources to build your board with your big monsters or maybe creating more indestructible creatures to win is better than with burn spells. Galvanic is the best choice, but i prefer use at least one of each artifact lands that are not indestructible to deal 4 damage in the late game. Nice build huh? I will try at my local store tomorrow and i'll comeback with my thoughts
35:35 I took 10 Chain Lightnings to the face to pay for their lack of burn in game 1. Worth it 🙏
Someone had to have been taking them because I would have lost that every other day of the week. I appreciate your sacrifice 🙏
Buyed the base for this deck a lot of time ago.. I still think there will be a chance to find a great build for it. This one is very nice, loved it.
I think it is a decent way to try and take Gruul if you don't like the cascade versions. Just wish for a little card advantage. Could it possibly be Mulldrifter time again?
Or cut the blue package and play it jund for Ichor and dispute. I feel like you shouldn’t have too many animators anyways since it’s always good to diversify threat package
@@vladdogarel263 and cut out the land animation to play removal and glee maybe? Seems solid XD
@ ??
How about Treasure hunt -> Rites of Initiation -> Basking Rootwalla -> Fling ?
I'm pretty sure this is my decklist for the last time I trophied in the league. Funny that you mention running 2 breath weapon main and the dual type land with red because the last time I played in paper that is what I was running. The thing with snap is that against some match ups it helps you survive while also helping you win the game faster but yeah I also tried running the deck without them and you know probably the same success overall. Moment's peace you have to think about it as a 2-turn safety against red and gruul that is in your base colors and giving you enough time to poison them off or in the case of mono red to maybe let them overcommit to the board and then you breath weapon them. I feel like this deck can easily go 3-2 in the leagues and sometimes you can 4-1 and that's why it has "58% winrate", but god the matches against blue decks are so bad because of all the counterspells it's basically impossible to win you literally just need them to have bad luck or they waste all of their mana to commit to the board leaving you a chance to storm off.
I know the deck needs something so the Broodscale matchup isn't a complete wash, so I understand why the Snap was there it just didn't feel relevant for the matchups I faced this league. It's a fine deck and one that I never like seeing as a Turbofog enjoyer (this is like a 0% matchup), so it was nice to be on the other end to see how it goes against the field.
Hahahah similar to turbo fog? I guess in that they both play the game in a non traditional way.
There was a list at one point where someone had UG Fog but instead of stream it used Poison and Proliferate to win. I think that was what they were referring to, but I just wanted to more stock list to see how it went as I hadn't played the deck before on my channel.
@Kirblinxy aaaaahh. That makes sense.
Wooooo the other best deck
Great content as always. You know what would be awesome though? If you took this "league" decks to a challenge. I am quickly learning that people in the leagues simply grew tired of the best decks. In the challenges, with tons of affinitys, glee combos and mono reds, some decks that are good in leagues get completely trashed.
Hey you are the BW aggro guy! How is your build currently doing?
I am!! Played my first challenge last friday, using the BW aggro list. Ended up in 14th place, went 3-0, then got dumpstered repeatedly by combo, 😅😅, ended up 3-3
In leagues it is still very good though
Yeah, if you notice throughout my videos I generally only play against 1-2 of these top 3 decks in a league. Affinity you barely ever see, I see a lot more Broodscale and red. But people are still experimenting, which is cool it's just nothing can breach these top 3 decks in challenges.
Hate when people blame RGN like the dreadge guy. People think by running four copies of a card they 100% will get it in the game, you both didnt find what you looking for, you find the poison card almost out enought proliferate or cards in deck for the guy cry "Mol just wanted you for win". F_#& off bro, have you ever play a tcg in paper? Who you use to blame on that?
If I complain, I just do it to myself. There isn't reason to take out frustration on others, it will just make them miserable as well. Just scream into a pillow afterwards to relieve the stress of things not going your way. That's my belief anyway.
Dont wildfire the depletion lands. I will die on this hill.
Why? I really like using Wildfire offensively because it reduces the mana available next turn by 1, which makes it a Sinkhole that cantrips. There are spots where you really need to ramp to fit your curve, ofc, and then you should do that. But there's a reason the heuristic is "bolt the bird" and not "play your bird to match them."
@@CharlotteMimic they get a land a basic land back. You don’t increase board pressure so you essentially time walk yourself in exchange for taking them off 1 extra mana every turn. Doesn’t seem that good to me
Hell yeah!!
28:05 why no double prism + contentious plan?
To have more spells in hand for a bigger weather in a later turn. Probably better to get the prism out then though? I'm unsure, I haven't played this deck enough to know the proper sequencing.
It would have been mana neutral, plus you would have one more tank for mana next turn But definitely, it is not an easy deck to pilot
@@matteoalaniimagine what the win rate would be if it was easier. 😂
@@Kirblinxyit would be beeen better to double prism, as the next turned after the Lorien would would of been able to triple prism and start gaining mana off your 2 card proliferate spells.
Best if you aim to have no more friends 😅
@@FlavioPisani89 Nah, that's reserved for turbofog.
@@Kirblinxy I'm glad somebody said it.
Is the big three kuldotha, faeries and broodscale?
I would usually say affinity over faeries but I never see it on mtgo lol
@DiscardatRandom It is Kuldotha, Affinity and Broodscale. Affinity doesn't seems to get a lot of play in leagues. Is usually the 2nd most played deck in challenges.
@@Kirblinxy I’ve heard blue faeries is very popular in paper and that Kuldotha isn’t
I guess the boros synt deck they mentioned it had not kuldotha + bush😅 the last match anyway shows exactly why boros can’t be a successful deck anymore!
hi5 and gg's
very good aggro idea! i want to try a deadly dispute+springleaf drum version
Then you can play refurbished familiar too
certainly contributing to the win rate lol
It was accidental I swear
Very nice games with that "less-than-good" deck ! tbh the Hot Dogs deck seems really solid, way more than I thought (or it was in the past). Do you consider playing it, or is it too clunky ?
I think spot removal is at an all-time high because of Broodscale so I wouldn't be too game to run it. The new Cyclops looked cool though.
Hahaha “the deck’s doing alright against not the big three” got a chuckle out of me
Funny that you should say that you love Rites. Cause I was just talking with Rites and it like likes you too.
Aww shucks. Now I'm embarrassed 😳
You can bounce inspectors...
That's a valid target indeed.
You are absolutely the most credible, authentic Pauper creator. Thank you for calling out the PFP out on what is obvious B.S.
I understand where they were coming from showing surprising stats, as I do the same with the pauper challenge results bit they really needed to show some context though. Leagues are noise a lot of time as you can see from most of my videos I only play against the big 3 decks like twice a league usually. Format is fine when you look at it from a league perspective as people are playing what they want to but competitely is a different set factors. This is why my data focuses on matchups. Sure Boros has 54% win rate but if it only beating Elves and Blue decks and doesn't pair into Broodscale or Affinity enough then the 54% isn't relevant for a competitive meta.
Love me some rites of initiation
If the Pauper community would associate me with any one card, I would love it to be Rites of Initiation. The games it can produce are hilarious and I don't think anyone else believes in the cards as much as I do.
@@Kirblinxy have been loving it in a Jund shell with dispute/wellspring to keep your hand stocked, so even a couple tokens getting through can be lethal. I will strive to be the runner-up rites cheerleader
real nice. instead of ichor wellspring you could go for lambas. since the potential to destroy artefacts is quite low. it has a better effect on enter;)
Fair point. I'm all about maximising Rites which is why I like Wellspring to keep my hand full. I only have Kuldotha and Munitions as ways to Sac the Wellspring which isn't enough, so maybe lembas is the right call.
Love this channel and thank you for the videos! :>
Glad you are enjoying the content!
Hi sweet stuff to see you figure out the deck on the fly! About that 19 unplayable cards thing: what do you think of 1-2 rites of initiation in the main? Or even better, another unearth thing that discards? In Modern the deck uses Conflagrate and Ox of Agonas to get all the dead cards back into the bin. What would be the pauper version of that effect?
Rites of Initiation could be fun. Used to be used in the old Watch Rites deck.
See Chrysalis and fly on the moon. That's it. Good deck against everything that's not that card.
Thx for the video and wish you nice holidays
Thx for the comment and I also wish you nice holidays (and the rest of my comment section in case they read this).
I've played this deck a lot after seeing your videos at the beginning of the year and I had very good results. Chrysalis is a nightmare, but I think everything else is manageable. I'm not a fan of Bushwhacker though, 3x maindeck is definitely too many. I used to run 2x Rites and it was perfect. Vs Gruul I think you should have sided in the End the Festivities because they take care of all the Eldrazi Spawns and they also kill Arbor Elf on turn 1.
It's a decently solid deck, I've just had better results with Black Fog that I haven't really had the opportunity to play this since. I probably should have tried some new stuff since I didn't really change anything from the start of the year. Bushwhacker did seem pretty medium in this league, it is just hard to hit RR plus get other creatures for that haste value. The cards I keep wanting to try are all 2 drops; Sunshot Militia for the grindy matchups, Thraben Charm as a flexible answer for Chrys. Have you tried either of these?
@Kirblinxy I haven't played Boros in while either, but I would definitely try Thraben Charm. Not sure if maindeck or sideboard. As Chrysalis is the main issue, I'd probably try a couple of End the Festivities first. They are not always good in all MUs but it's always a damage and sometimes a combat trick. I think there are 2 flex slots in the deck, that used to be 2 Demand Answers in your old list and can now be used for either Thraben Charm or EtF. Thraben Charm is an additional removal for Broodscale and it also destroys Glee or Munitions that can be relevant in many situations, so it's a good card. I'd go -3 Bushwhacker, +1 Rites +2 Thrban/EtF. For Mono Red I would play Arashin Cleric in the sb as it's a good blocker and it can be replayed multiple times with Skyfisher. I'm not a fan of Sunshot Militia tbh, the sorcery speed activation has always turned me off. It can be good in some match-ups, for sure, but I feel like we need answers for other kinds of opponents.
do you think that this version is better than the stock one which is more value oriented?
I think the format is a little too fast for the value orientated one as you generally just die before you can get the bouncy value engine online. I think you need to be able to cheese some quick wins like the other decks do and nothing does that better than Rites.
The format savior
Indeed
Preach! 🙌
Ive been playing Boros a bit and I've been trying Goblin Surprise. Its been okay to great. Basically the Guardian Pledge with the ability to make 2 1/1s instant speed after a wipe.
I'm just not a fan of 3-drops in Synth as it is hard to cast cards early off a Synth as is. It is probably a card to try in Bully instead of Rally the Peasants as the flexibility could be useful over the GY value. But I am way too value orientated so whenever I discard a flashback spell my dopamine receptors fire.
That round 4 was insane! Very well played from a macro level. Knowing what decisions are and aren't important is so huge and something I really need to work on myself.
The timer makes for some real interesting decisions late. Like it was better to keep around the Mystic than to try and Pyro it because it was just wasting more time. Game 2 was also pretty funny and made round 4 easily the most interesting game out of the lot. Thanks for going that deep into the video!
Nail biter vs UB, good job.
Coast to coast Khalni Garden token was hilarious!

I have for the longest time been using the "Things aren't looking good for our hero" thing. 😆
Usually I say this when watching other people, I didn't think I used it referring to myself but must have slipped through.. It's a pretty fun saying that handles a lot of situations.
Thank you for bringing back this awesome deck, this is my fav deck of all time in pauper and that is why no one want to play with me
This why I play online. People have no choice but to be paired into me, so I get to make people miserable. Also less chance of draws (which make me miserable).
Maaaan 10 bucks for darkness in paper.
You can just use Fog instead. This is just as badly priced as Campfire is online. 7 Tix per card!
Pauper deserves better than this.

Pauper is awful right now.
Why is that?
@@raficfarah6274 Cards are too strong.
@@I1caro and why is that bad for the format? pauper has always been a format with high power level
I wouldn't say it is awful. I think 'stale' might be the correct word. You have the top 3/4 decks that keep performing along with the same tier 2 popping up every now and then. People want to brew but it is hard to deal with the speed of red/glee and the grind of affinity.
