    I just made these for lunch after my coworkers laughed and scoffed at the idea of using banana peels. Took photos during the process, and then our empty plates after we ate every bite of these yummy burgers. looked at the nutritional content online and thrilled that they have high amounts of Vitamin B6, B12 and magnesium and potassium and other antioxidants and fiber. Who knew?! Can’t wait to make other banana peel recipes. Thank you Chef Jana! You are an inspiration to all us home cooks who want to make Plant based foods that are economical, delicious, and healthy!

      Dear chef Jana.. i'm yr new sub. yr recipes look amazing. I see you hv quite some recipes using banana peels and I'm so intrigue to try them out. But what do we do with the banana itself, especially you said the greener banana peel the better. As we all know green banana doesn't taste nice at all and not much nutrition in it. I cannot make it into juice nor ice cream as it has not much taste when it's unripe. Nor cake coz banana cake needs overripe banana instead.
      So, I only wanna try the banana peel recipe if I can also enjoy eating the banana instead of throwing them away. 😊

    So I was on my truck and having a bad tummy bout. So I’m to eating rice and bananas. I made these banana burgers previously and they were delicious. So I decided to cut up my peel with a bit of onion and salt. Fried it in my rice cooker. Chopped a mushroom I had and put it over my rice for a bit of extra flavor. And it stayed in. Thanks 🙏 Your recipes really let my imagination roll. And I feel I’m eating very good.

    I had never heard of using banana peels for anything except for slipping on! So I was very skeptical about this recipe. But I was so surprised! These patties turned out very meaty and tasty - better than store-bought veggie patties. I didn’t have any mushroom powder and I used an egg (I’m not vegan) as the binder - worked great. Now I’m eager to try your other banana peel recipes!

    This looks great! I make a lot of smoothies so I have been saving my banana peels and I have a container in my freezer FULL of frozen banana peels... do you have any recommendations for what to do differently if I've frozen them or should I just stick them in the microwave for a while first and then follow your recipe?

    • @ingridpear1882
      @ingridpear1882 ปีที่แล้ว

      I was thinking the same thing. I assume scraping the banana peels before freezing makes sense,but I was wondering how easy it is to shred it after it's a little thawed and could be more watery /soft/soggy. A lot of things like spinach get softened by freezing and don't a lot of cook time - did you find anything on what you were looking for? I'd love to know. Thanks.

    Never tried banana peels before, but as an American of course I would have slathered a lot more sauce on that burger until the insides dripped down my arm 😁 Another great recipe Janna 😘

    Outstanding recipe. I wonder if I can use plantain peels instead? And I love arugula and raw onion/garlic too 🙏🏻🍀💚

      Yes, people have been making and commenting here that the plantain peels work just fine, just simmer them first for about 5 minutes and you're good to go. :)

    Jana! I’m a big fan! I finally tried one of your banana peel recipes (pulled pork) and I’m hooked! I can’t wait to make more banana peel recipes. I have a question, I only like eating bananas when they’re sweet and ripe, can I still use the peels with a few brown dots on them? If not do you have a recipe for using the un ripe bananas? 🙏🏼❤️
