I don’t fish often, certainly not often enough. I don’t mind not catching big fish, or even nothing, if the stream and the landscape are beautiful and secluded…which is good because, while the latter two are in plentiful supply, all three can no longer be found around here…except in your videos. Hi Alex. Really enjoy your videos and not just because of the fish...although they and the terrain as in this segment are also pretty dam cool of course!
What I like is that you dont 'overhype' the experience, it all comes across as nice and natural and for me that is far more engaging and entertaining than alot of the other content I see.
And it's not about the numbers, you (like many of us in fisherland) seem to get genuine thrill from each and every trout encounter; the good, great, bad and wrists slittingly ugly as well?!
One day, when I'm a tad more flush, I hope to book trip with you up north.

Cinematography is just getting better and better my friend ... Really appreciate that you include all your struggles and mistakes ... makes it so real Alex. The videos would be boring to watch if they were edited so that it's catch after successful catch and it all looking too easy. I really think, that if that was the case, people would good bored and stop watching and possibly even get put off fishing., if they weren't experiencing similar success. As in life we always learn so much more from our mistakes, than we do from our successes, and you sharing your losses and mistakes, means that we learn way more from you, than just watching a string of successful catches in a row. Said it before Alex but really appreciate all your time and effort that you personally invest to making such a quality channel. Been watching for years now and feel that if I ever get to catch up in person it will feel odd/sureal even. As I will feel like I'm bumping into an old friend. And we haven't actually ever met. cheers Alex once again! Been waiting for this section since last week bro. The little grey nymph looks like a nesameletus....deadly on fussy west coasters. First time I "fished" that section came in from the top end after a big walk fell down a bank and snapped my rod in half and nearly severed a finger on a sunny low wind day in Jan when the cicadas were out on mass. Cried rather intensely at the missed opportunity. Can't wait to hear what you have to say about the next hut......I came across my best fishing possibly below where you started this session when I flew in second visit highlighted by a brilliant golden 9 on a 16 adams parachute. Missed this vid. It just amaze me how spooky those wild browns are while they won't be hunted after every day. It also surprises me how few fish there seem to be in this pure natural rivers. Compared to my fishgrounds in Austria this seems ridiculous. Hours of walking for almost nothing. 🤔

Just curious what the black layer on your legs is. I have been thinking of getting waders, but I only fish in the sun and when it is warm and don't want to get too hot, also I like to be super mobile when I fish as well

Hmm expensive heli ride into a remote river that happens to have a 4 lane highway for a path, several huts and 1 fish pr 5 clicks oh and the river is dry too. I normally really enjoy your vids but not so sure about this one tbh.Oh well atleast the music and voice are the same lvl and any fishing vid is better than no fishinvid:)

@@TrippinOnTrout It's not a personal critic, it's more like if i want a guide and he brought me there i would be pretty disappointed. At Tonga i expect it but after a heli ride i would expect something a bit more pristine if you know what i mean and i am sure you do.

Hate that white label Orvis puts on their rods. I guess they want people to know its an Orvis, all I see is an ugly orvis rod.
