True, 1974, I was there! Rory came on with his Strat and a tiny amp, he stayed at the back being very modest, but Albert forced him to walk upfront to play a solo, Rory got booos from the ignorant audience....UNTIL he played his brilliant solo and he got a well deserved ovation after that! Great memories.....
I never had the pleasure of seeing Rory live but I did see Albert King live in 1969@ the Filmore east and he was really good.....Rory Gallagher might just be one of the very best I`ve ever heard.....sweet rest to both and thanks for all the songs
Bram does not know the background to this track it would appear. Albert King invited Rory to play with him at Montreux and then treated him poorly in the run up to the show; no sound check etc. Listen to Donal Gallagher, Rory's brother, speak about the show. The solo from Rory is by far the best from the whole show. It is available as a vinyl double album on Tomato Records. It was also released as a CD latterly. On the recent Rory Gallagher Blues album there was a further track from the show released. Out on Chess records. So yes Albert King should have learnt by that stage in his career to treat fellow artists with the respect they deserved.
Hey there Sean - thanks for getting us up to speed on what happened that night. Yeah - Albert could be a little "off-putting" sometimes, but blues and rock could never be what it is today without the influence of his incredibly unique playing style. ⚡👍🥴⚡
Alessio Basciani. Albert is a no learn. In this pure, unique Blues he try only to humiliate Rory. With a bad result. The Kings, i love, Freddie, Albert, B.B., were egoesist. Pure Egoes. But they were clever to understand when a genious player were playing too. The arrogance by the guys with the talent of kinds like Rory creates this and many other Masterpieces.
I increased the volume and it's possible to hear Rory said yeah or something like that twice as he had the habit to do to relax or to say: good work , probably it's the kind of expression Albert King didn't enjoy because blues for him deserves a kind of church atmosphere respect
very well said Sean, Albert King wonderful musician goes without saying but Rory deserved a lot more respect. And as always the music was his total focus.
I had this album on vinyl when it came out on Tomato and then sold it-big mistake! Now I can't find it on CD anywhere....This is great playing by both of them, especially Rory who was thrown in at the deep end by Albert
I am so happy that he got to play with Albert King just like Stevie Ray did you can hear so much of Stevie sounding like Albert King there right down to the pipe
Two of the best (RIP) on the same stage together showing they know how to play the blues. You can feel it. What could be better! Posted by one of the best, that's all. Thanks Dimitris. Great pics, as always. Like 378. /:-)
Obrigado
Actually from the 1974 Montreaux Jazz Festival but who really cares?? Such a PERFECT example of the uplifting power of the blues. One of Rory Gallagher's BEST solos! IMHO

The thing bout blues rock guitar players is that they were way better than blues players
I increased the volume and it's possible to hear Rory said yeah or something like that twice as he had the habit to do to relax or to say: good work , probably it's the kind of expression Albert King didn't enjoy because blues for him deserves a kind of church atmosphere respect
Better mood probably in Sion with Albert Collins ten years after...this .Fabulous recording
very well said Sean, Albert King wonderful musician goes without saying but Rory deserved a lot more respect. And as always the music was his total focus.

This Is The Blues, My Dear Gregory. The endless passion for this sad sad world. Every day and every night. In life and in death.

Albert King learnt a few things that night. Respect and humility!
But, even so, Albert was one of the GREATS!
hahaha.. Mr. Albert King learnt something that night.. funny.. Mr. Albert King learnt something..
@@bramjanssens9996 Yep Man. He learnt... He learnt the respect for the passion. And for that uncoloured talent. Not Black, not White. Only Blues.
Less than 14,000 views! Seriously! An amazing piece of music. Thank you Albert and Rory!

I VIVI
" A medida que pasan los años "
Ah, los sentimientos
La bola y la cadena que rodea ...
la pierna de cada músico inglés
De hecho, la pierna de cada músico
¿Tratando de patearlo, nena?
No no ... Nunca lo harás
Estos son los blues del tiempo
Y el blues de una mujer
De un hombre pensando en ella
Como pasa el tiempo.
No hay nada que pueda hacer
Si me dejas aquí para que llore
No hay nada que pueda hacer
Si me dejas aquí para llorar
Sabes que mi amor te seguirá nena
Mmm, hasta el día de mi muerte.
Te he dado todo lo que tengo;
Oh, te he dado todo lo que tengo;
No importa cuanto me esfuerce.
Tengo fracaso
Está a mi alrededor
No importa cuánto lo intente
Intenta intenta
Bien
Crees que me has dejado atrás
Hola, voy a dejarte a ti nena
I see God now
😎🎸🎸🇧🇷🇧🇷👏
a 5star
gee , was Rory good enough ?
are you joking?
What?
Kevin surely you jest? Take the blinkers off?
Rory made the cut.
gee does a bear shit in the woods
