- In my Stevie Ray Vaughan video, I stated that I would be doing a blues series and my first video is about the blues legend Mr. Albert King. It was his music that started my fascination with the blues in the mid-'90s
Albert King is considered by most to be the king of the guitar. Now I know that doesn't sound right by saying the king of the guitar but I really don't know how else to explain it. I don't know anything about the guitar it all sounds good to me but he really was talented.
I gave a lot of information on his rise to the top in the music industry and a valuable lesson can be learned from his story. He was in his 40's before he became a household name. He never gave up he believed in his talent and he left this beautiful music for the world!!

I love Albert King and I am also a Little Milton fan. Walking The Back Streets is not a Little Milton cover, it is in fact a Little Milton original song which happens to be one of my favorites. A lot of other people have since covered it including Albert King.
If funny....when I play Albert's music, I don't even think about his biggest hit (Born under a bad sign)...I'm playing stuff like "Little Brother (Make a way), "The very thought of you", and "I'll play the blues for you".

The first time my 12 year old niece heard I'll play the blues for you, she looked at me and said I can smell the smoke and taste the alcohol. Don't forget Eddie King who played guitar for many years with Koko Taylor, and the reason that Riley B King had to become BB King was there was already an R B King playing the blues.

The concert photo at 1:12 & later was taken at a WTTW Soundstage show in Chicago in 1982. Glad it has found a good use. Mr. King was such a wonderful man. I wish WTTW Soundstage would release that concert video . Thank You.
