She is very intelligent, for those people who hate on hijab, she actually is better than so many models who have become slaves of the industry, she said no to change herself for others. So, she is very brave and not like some people who would do anything for some money and attention

She had to take off her clothes in front of people. If in a runway they have males who do hair, clothes and makeup while models naked. I believe they’re in the room while models get ready.

I'm very thankful for Halima Aden, she is one of the main reasons why me and my friends many years ago looked into Islam and dressing modestly and alhamdullilah today we are all devoted Muslims (we've also even gotten some of our family members to take their shahada!). Halimas story and strength is so inspiring and I'm proud as a hijabi that Halima stood up for herself and for other Muslimahs who deal with this consistently , especially in western nations where we can get abuse just for covering ourselves. May Allah reward anyone who brings the beauty and peace of Islam into the light of others lives.

@Wisdom of Solomon Huh?? "What part of them are considered Christian?" I don't understand the question.
I am referring to modesty standards. The modeling industry has never been an industry sympathetic to a models personal standards of modesty. The only reason the ladies with hijabs have been given some kind of day is for "woke points" but doesn't surprise me that she said the hijabs kept getting smaller. Part of the job seems to be being half naked or fully naked in front of people, especially when back stage at a fashion show and having to change quickly. It would be nice if things were different but not surprised she quit.

I see a lot of love and hate being thrown at this woman. It seems as though from a professional position, there is a difference of treatment when you have been scouted by a talent agency vs someone who worked their way up to the top to get into the industry. Because they wanted Halima, there was room for negotiation in her contract. Many models sign any contract just to get into that industry, literally sign their lives away. It’s a shame. Perhaps she thought that many models could negotiate their contracts as she had done. But that’s not the reality and she realized this too late. 🤷🏾‍♀️ I’m by no means a perfect Muslimah. I’m still learning, and we are all still learning. We are all given tests in this life. Sometimes we pass them, sometimes we fail them. The mercy being shown by Allah swt to give her a chance to leave and try and rectify her mistakes can’t be overlooked by me.

If you ask for a certain plate in a restaurant for example it doesn’t mean you are saying other people don’t deserve to get it. No comparison but just to explain the point,
      in shaa’ ALLAH .
Sadly a lot of women don’t care much about privacy when changing clothes, but anyway they should be given privacy by other people.

As much as i like her and have no issue with Islam but her complaints seem too unrealistic and me me me. Has she thought of the other side..the company's point of view? Like in her example that her changing room was placed in a different area, did she ever consider that maybe there was really no space in the work area of that temporary backstage so it was placed in the other side where unfortunately she needs to pass through the men's part?! She is not the only model there where everything should be just right to her standards. In fact you can now buy this portable and handy temporary dressing space where you can bring it with you wherever. Anyway, she can just not accept the job if the company cannot provide what she wants..simple as that. Also, with the jeans ad, again if she feels like she is being fake, then do not do a jeans ad campaign the same way if you do not drink soda then do not model for coke or pepsi. Not everything is for everyone.

I agree with this.Im sure she had a lawyer writing up contracts for her that state what she won't do.Her values of modesty should be respected but anything else is part of the job like you said. But it didn't cover all the aspects she personally wanted? In Islam your allowed to change in front of other females but can't show your genitals.I think it crossed over into diva territory but I think if we had more information from the modeling companies it'll be better.

@@xakirax_8864 in her case i do think the companies did give in to her requests bec her complaints in this vid are a bit shallow. No horror stories that she was violated or forced etc etc. She is simply just not satisfied. Even with the jeans ad, they just showed her face. If she has a prob with it, she can stop the shoot. She is managed by IMG who is the top of the top model agency. Also, being a fashion model is built on being able to carry diff looks and it involves being a character for a short moment. If she is too caught up in her self and do not have any desire to play diff characters then she should not be a model to begin with. I think her prob stems from being still too young and idealist ic and really not yet sure of herself bec a simple change in looks and all of a sudden she feels out of balanced and not herself.
