5FDP is one of my favorite bands, mostly due to nostalgia. Listening to "Coming Down" saved my life at a pretty ruff time. That said it's true that they are/can be cringy as hell though, on top of that your video is great +1 sub.

I enjoy some of these songs in this album. But maaaan I miss old ffdp. The way of the fist, war is the answer, american capitalist and the wrong side of heaven vol 1 and 2 slapped, they were great. Got your six was fine but for justice and none and forward the quality started to drop drastically. After got your six their music became mediocre / okay.

I’m gonna be honest Afterlife is an absolute guilty pleasure for me. I disagree with a lot of the things they say but I’m able to put it aside because it just slaps

I refuse , Walk away , Never Enough , and even The Darkness settles in. for me them songs are written with pure emotional lyrics and mean a lot to me, however as I have suggested while I like some of their older songs ., not all of their songs I would call classics and I am don't like their New album , Wrong side of Heaven and their albums before that had some decent songs on but. I don't find myself liking all their songs

I have to say the album cover looks pretty cool. It actually kinda looks like an old 80's era Metallica T-shirt with art by Pushead. Maybe that's where the artist got his or her inspiration for the cover. Unless it was actually Pushead who did the artwork for this, of course....

Man... I really enjoy the first album by these guys and like the next two. Then the double album is fine. I even went and saw them on their Got Your Six album cycle in high school despite not liking that album and had a good time. But with each album I've found myself less and less interested and after seeing the clips in this video I don't think that's going to be changing any time soon.
I'm glad to see that fans are less rabid now and are willing to criticize what they don't like instead of just "FFDP GOOD! HATERS BAD!"

Got Your Six was 100% the turning point.
These guys used to be enjoyable and I've seen them on their Wrong Side of Heaven tour with Escape the Fate, Miss May I, and Gemini Syndrome. Wonderful concert!
But, back to what I mentioned above lol.
I remember being so fucking hyped for Got Your Six. I'd preordered the album on Google Play (RIP to that app lol) and had JUST got off of my night shift gig at McDonald's (LOL).
I started the first track on my headphones and started my bike ride home.
Holy fuck that was awful.
I kinda knew right after listening to it in full that whatever they were going to release from that point would be total, actual, complete bullshit lol.

@@nrthrn_dcy Got Your Six also came out at a weird time in my life. I was branching out into a bunch of different genres and really starting to get into experimental music like Deathspell Omega. This album was really cookie cutter and watered down in comparison and just kinda left me feeling bored. Wasn't sure if my apathy towards it was because of what I was into at the time or because it wasn't interesting... I tried revisiting the discography recently and it seems that the answer was the latter. I agree that this album marks the steep downward slide for me even to this day. Still have a soft spot for Way of the Fist, it's a banger and that's a hill I'll die on.

I'm ashamed to admit I actually liked Ivan's earlier band Motograter before he created 5FDP. It was okay by nu metal standards in the early aughts, but I was also a teen and had low standards. Now that I look back on their music and art style they remind me of the "boomer skull" meme template which is some top tier cringe.

Some of Ivan's best stuff was with his older bands imo (Ghost Machine, Motograter, Toiz, Etc.)
Basically everything he ever did was better than 5FDP, even though I like the 1st album. Ghost Machine and Motograter are something special. This band sold out over 10 years ago.

Remember Everything is another one that really touches me, and it's relatable to me as I never felt like I measured up to what my parents wanted me to be for a while or would make decisions that they would not approve of. The Tragic Truth is another one that hits hard for me. While it's about Ivan's struggle with alcoholism and his inner demons regarding that, this song feels like it matches the mood when I'm feeling stuck in a hole, so to speak. Like I'm stuck in a faulty pattern or struggling with keeping on top of my own things in life.

I saw them on the afterlife tour with Cory marks and Brantley Gilbert. Welcome to the circus was the only song to get a pit out of the south Dakota crowd that night. The songs on the album that they played were a lot better than the album.

I do enjoy this album, and i really love five finger death punch but i enjoy hearing other people's opinions plus im a huge fan of yours. I really enjoy this channel and i dont see many people arguing in the comments. Keyword many
this is a band for years i avoided because they seem to get so much hate. but the past year i got rrrreally fucking into them. and this is after 20 years of listening to black/death/thrash/doom. imagine my surprise lol. i'll take them, cringe and all. i love the new album. the whole high brow nerdy basement dwelling metal head mentality does give me a chuckle, keep 'er lit

I must confess that I didn’t listen to the whole album when I wrote the last comment. I must say while I don’t really like the album it’s better than some things they have done in the past. To me none of the songs are at the top of cringe meter but some are cringy. The Motionless In White album was a lot worse to me. That actually made my blood boil in parts. Not the case here. A lot of these are not terrible but not good radio friendly tracks so to me it is bearable. What do you think?

I don't really try to absorb any lyrics when listening to FFDP. I listen to them when I wanna hear some pumpin' music. And you cannot say that the molodies aren catchy. Not all songs are energetic, but I like the album.
I'm glad that you do, but I genuinely don't. I have bands that I enjoy that for, but this just isn't one of them.
Judgement Day really caught my ear due to the vocals, atmosphere, and that weird sound that's like a spring being pulled back. When I say vocals I mean how his voice sounds, not the actual lyrics. It also sounds like a patchwork of three separate songs. I've always referred to the band as "The kid in class who could get straight A's if only he applied himself." It's a shame because in a lot of ways they're close to being really good but I'd rather listen to their generic sound than wade through the past ten years to find something better.
Aww.. Afterlife has quickly become my favorite FFDP album, yes, I even like Judgement Day. XD

I don't know what to say about this album. Ffdp used to be good when they released their first 3 albums their last album F8 was sort of heading to the right direction but their new experimental album just blew it. Guys if you're a older ffdp fan just go listen to other fresh new bands.

As a fan of the band, I found it incredibly dull and disappointing. I like Afterlife, Roll Dem Bones (still a dumb song name) and Gold Gutter. While they still have their issues, to me they are the better tracks since they have a better energy than the rest of the tracks on this album.
I expected better especially with Andy James (who's a beast on guitar) as lead guitarist but was sad to say the least to hear that his talents were underutilized.
Judgement Day can go back to whatever Psycho Synner notebook it came from. 😂
It's a bad, boring album and I'm fine if I never listen to it again.

I'm not hating just to hate, I genuinely like this band. My criticism is out of love, because like you I don't know where I would be right now if I didn't listen to their music when I was younger. I dedicated When The Seasons Change to my crush whom I am now dating.
When I was angry and needed therapy, I put on the Way Of The Fist album and treated myself.
So like I said, my criticism is based on love, not jumping on a hate train just to be accepted, I just don't feel this album as others would.

This is my favorite album and Gold Gutter is my favorite song, with Welcome To The Circus probably being second. Even then, I can kind of understand some of you points. If you don't vibe with the songwriting on the album, it really just isn't for you. I do highly respect how objective you were though, and still got a kick out of this video. I have always been into metal and have listened to all there tracks it is a very good band for the gym but everyone's coming here expecting something to get shredded to but they didn't do that this time and I love what they've done now. The lyrics are much more realistic to the current events that America is struggling with mainly statistics in males and it's obviously making political shots will go over a lot of people's heads but if you are kept up enough you will hear everything they are talking about and it may not be relatable to many but this is my absolute favorite album I have ever heard it is very relatable

Side note tho, I'd be interested to see a review of the new I Prevail album. I liked a lot of it musically for the most part, however there were some cringy lyrics/moments, and with that in mind, The Negative is almost a direct rip of Faint by Linkin Park, but there are some great ideas and sounds on it overall imo, so I'd be keen to hear your thoughts 🤘

They balance between genres quite well, and being my gf doesn't like metal much, it forms a middle ground musically that we can listen to together without issue

I listen to everything from black metal to rap and honestly this is a good album lots of fun bangers and good riffs and solos I would really recommend this album super fun. I like FFDP but this album ain't it. Except for some workout tracks like Welcome to the Circus, this one was pretty meh. STEOTW was great IMO, though. Masterpiece literally made me shed a tear.

How would you rate FF5P/DMX's song-This is the Way?
Where to start. First of all, i am a huge fan of the band (yeah... I listen to underground shit, black metal shit, death metal groove basically everything but hey as i like to say you dont controll who you fell in love with.) From an objective point of you i feel while not their best, better then F8 and And justic for None. Ivan's vocals are ON POINT, melodies are top tier for me. Some lyrics are cool I find... I feel tho the riffs are totally forgetable except maybe the Gold Gutter one. The sound is kinda overproduced but its what you are waiting to hear when you listen to today's FFDP... Subjectively? BANGERRRR🤪 i feel like FFDP embodies what rock is supposed to be : music for the people, music that can speak to everybody. Well that was my take on it. No need to troll me because i love ffdp guys ill pass. Peace.

This is all my opinion and the way I see the meaning of these songs;
Afterlife: about how the politicians and big name celebrities and CEOs promise people the best then usually fuck them over.
IOU: is a ‘fuck you’ ‘I owe you nothing’ to all the Trans, non-binary, furry, etc bastards who think the world should cater to them and owes them everything.
Welcome To The Circus: about how obsessed with technology society is and how social media, the likes, follows, retweets, etc and how much it as overtaken society and overall how stupid and dependent on the government and on technology everyone is.
Times Like These: a newer and two-for-one of Disturbed’s Savior of Nothing, and In Another Time, along with revisiting FFDP’s Afterlife, and Welcome To The Circus.
Blood and Tar: Personally, I think you hit the nail on the head with that one.

Man, I use to really like these guys. First two albums again. But wow! They haven’t evolved at all 😐 and yeah a lot of cringe here. Admittedly, I haven’t listened to the album, but from this video alone. Think I’m good. 😂

FFDP would be an awesome band if Ivan didn't write the lyrics. Vocals are spot on, but they really need a team of professional songwriters BADLY.
This is a really good album, it’s very soothing and enjoyable. I don’t care if I’m in the minority here.
It's not minority really. It feels like 5FDP is their own genre and it's own fans. Can't complain, been a fan since a long time ago.

I can’t believe I used to listened these guys back in high school when Way of the fist and War is the answer was my jam. Them 2 albums are still alright in my eyes but their later material is so trash. Few decent songs here and there but
First two albums are fine. Still toughguy metal, but the riffs, solos and harmonies more than made up for it.
I am so embarrassed that I used to be obsessed with them, way of the fist still goes hard and you’ll still find some okay songs from then on till now but jesus christ it’s so cringe now
When they fist came out they blew my metal doors wide open with a fresh sound . They started way early with the slow ballads and was a sign of what was to come. They fell off quick!
I enjoy ffdp's first album the whole album the whole way through and I enjoyed some of their 2nd and 3rd albums I thought afterlife was definitely better than their albums previous to it tho. All I know was probably my favorite track
Five finger death Punch is one of those new metal bands I really never got into. I just kind of thought they were trying to hard to be like Slipknot. And that opinion shows in quite a few different ways. I can safely say that I've never liked a single album of theirs. Maybe their one song "never enough" but that's really about it. But yeah definitely butt Rock. Maybe you should do a tier list for butt Rock bands. If you haven't already done so. Steel panther comes to mind but also 3 Days Grace, Nickelback. God what a trainwreck those bands are. Seether and Godsmack are alright in my opinion, well some of it.
These guys are great as a beginner metal band, something to use as a launching pad to dive deeper into the pit. Sure there are much better bands to introduce you to the metal world, but these guys serve that purpose well.
For the longest time, I only listened to nu metal until I started checking out other types before ultimately deciding on power metal. I had somebody ask me one time how he, as a pop fan could get into metal. I told him to start with post-Adam Gontier Three Days Grace, since they're the lightest band I can think of. Then move on to Linkin Park, since they have a rapper, then go on to Shinedown, since a few of their songs are light enough to be played on pop radio, then to ease his way through bands like Sixx A.M., Seether, Korn, and Disturbed. By then, he should be able to handle FFDP. And once he gets to that point, he'll be ready to run with the big boys.

There's no begginer level or whatever to metal, heavier songs aren't for everyone can't put tiers or levels to music its all just what you prefer

This is one of the bands that I loved that absolutely crumbled in my opinion. Their first two albums, absolutely metal in your face. Now? so bad...and its sad.

As a fan who’s been listening since the beginning, It is getting hard to listen to some of these lyrics 😬. I had some hope that they’d turn it around after the last album. I also think getting rid of churko on production, would be a huge step in the right direction. But that’s just me

I was excited for the album, slightly disappointed however I’ve been a fan since “War is the Answer” and I’ll always support them. I have a few tracks I enjoy, but that’s the beauty of music there’s plenty of variety for everyone
